Jo Jung Suk (What’s Up, You’re the Best Lee Soon Shin) and Shin Min Ah (My Girlfriend is a Gumiho) have been cast in a remake of the 1990 film ”My Love, My Bride” as newlyweds. Whut whut!

The original film starred Park Joong Hoon (“Haeundae,” “Heaven’s Soldiers”) and Choi Jin Shil, who recently passed away in 2008. She was quite a famous television star, having also appeared in The Last Scandal of My Life and Star in My Heart. Choi also won a Grand Bell Award (Daejong Award) for her role in the film. It’s strange to think that it’s only been 14 years and they’re already making remakes. But then again, it has been 14 years. It took only 10 years for Hollywood to reboot “Spider-Man” and 5 years for “The Hulk.” Yeesh.

“My Love, My Bride” follows a young couple, Young Min (Jo) and Mi Young (Shin), as they embark on married life together. Of course, nothing is ever as perfect as they initially seem. With Jo and Shin on board, the film is going to have a fresher, modern take to the classic story. And shenanigans. If you have these two wonderful comic actors (as proven by their past roles) then you need to have plenty of shenanigans. The director at helm this time around will be Im Chan Sang (“The President’s Barber”) and they will begin shooting at the end of February with a release date in the later half of 2014.
