Aaah ..after read PSH's new drama 2 weeks ago ..now we have MCW's drama come around ...what a timing, so working around similar time than rest at the same time too ...  I am OK with any actors as her new lead, because a good actress/actor should be able work to any actors/actress without thinking about the popularity, Hoping  for both dramas will success

Artists under judgment

A star lives on the love of fans.  The love that fans show towards the star, like sunflowers drawn to the sun, is often a double-edged sword.  A star is embodied in his image, but people demand a higher morality from the star.  The process of spreading wrong information can severely damage the image of the star.  Even if the wrong information is corrected and he escapes chagrin, doubts will still remain because people think “where there is smoke, there is fire.”

Park Si Hoo took 10 years to emerge from obscurity.

Park Si Hoo went through a long period of obscurity before he gradually came into his own with “The Princess’s Man” in 2011 and enjoyed the highest popularity with “Cheongdam-dong Alice” in 2012.  It is not that people are always most careful in making longtime preparations.  When they make longtime preparations, they always control their hearts carefully, but there comes a moment when they lower their guard and let go.  It seems Park Si Hoo could not help it because he is after all human.

An entertainer who does not drink alcohol met a woman he liked at a drinking party one night.  It is not important how attractive or pretty the woman was.  Anyway, such conduct between adults was not an issue; it became a legal issue only because he was a celebrity.  Whether the alleged rape was a fact or not, it dealt a severe blow to Park Si Hoo’s image.

Accusation of rape is more memorable than no right of prosecution.

When an investigation reveals important matter doesn’t exist, there is no prosecution right, and the case is disposed of as “non-prosecution”.  When all the pros and cons from the beginning are considered, and criminal fact isn’t proved, the decision is “non-suspicion”.  But such a fine distinction is lost to the general public, to whom the word “rape” remains more memorable than such complex analysis.  Perhaps a person is innocent of rape, but the accusation is branded on the minds of people, stronger than the outcome of no case for prosecution.  Whether he is in fact guilty or not is not seen as clearly as the fact that he has been accused.

“A” [ED: article says “K” but it should be “A”] thought things were going her way but had to suddenly withdraw her complaint because it was backfiring and she was facing the risk of being sued by Park Si Hoo.  Park Si Hoo was also at a disadvantage if he insisted on continuing with the investigation.  If Park Si Hoo went all the way to try to prove his innocence, it would have taken at least one year or more.  After all, whatever the problems with the case, the image of Park Si Hoo has been tarnished.

This incident is bound to place constraints on the pace of Park Si Hoo’s progress in the future.  This case and a similar incident which occurred a little later prove that when a person is under fire, embers may spill over at any time.

Park Si Hoo to return to Korea

Now two years and seven months after this incident has occurred, Park Si Hoo decided to return to the domestic entertainment industry.  It has been confirmed that he would appear in the 2016 OCN drama “Neighborhood Hero”.  This is a spy drama to be directed by Kwak Jung Hwan whose previous works include “Chuno”.  Park Si Hoo plays the hero Baek Shi Yoon who fights evil in his neighborhood and pursues justice, truth, and love.

Once a star’s image is sullied, to restore it is very time-consuming.  I do not know whether Park Si Hoo’s one-night encounter with the woman “A” was worse than the 10 years of obscurity in his life.  Public opinion has nothing to do with the truth.  The Park Si Hoo incident was fodder for gossip, and the public watched his crash and the destruction of his good image and gleefully transmitted news by word of mouth.  It did not matter what the truth was.

Park Si Hoo is making his comeback in Korea after a considerable time.  Forget the past and show your own acting style.  We expect good activities to come.

It must be a very special feeling of coming back to the world after experiencing arduous training for 3650 days [ED: 10 years of obscurity] and feeling yourself soaring, and then one day crashing headlong after an accidental relationship with a large snake.  Looking at the facts show that the world was wrong — in pointing a finger at him.

스스로 복받았다고 자부하는 허삼보와 달리 사서삼경, 성경, 원효대사님을 흠모하는 마음에 복주대사로 이름을 바꾼 것처럼 참된 지식인을 예우할 줄 알고 자신의 이익만 쫓는 악인에 대해서는 가차없이 철퇴를 가할 줄 아는 장수의 힘도 가지고 있습니다.

 

앞가림도 못하는 제가 중국의 제갈량에 비할 수는 없지만 제 경력과 때를 비교해 보시면 관중과 악의에 비해 전혀 부족함이 없는 사람입니다. 돈은 없지만 백성을 위해 자기 목숨을 버린 어진 군주를 위해 마지막까지 충성심을 보인 것은 후대 역사가들이 볼 때 제갈량 못지 않을꺼라 생각됩니다.

 

오위업의 시를 아는 사람은 많으나 오위업처럼 행동하는 사람은 소수일 뿐입니다. 어진 신하를 가까이 했기에 선대는 흥할 수 있었고 소인배하고 이익을 탐하려는 사람 때문에 후대는 시끄럽고 어지러울 수 밖에 없었습니다.

 

김삿갓이 수많은 양반들에게 무시 받으면서 그들에게 한 말이 “닭이 어찌 봉황의 뜻을 알리요.” 솔직히 부족한 면이 많지만 선대왕처럼 자신을 알아주는 분들을 위해 최선을 다하고 싶습니다.

 이범수씨가 출연하는 '인천상륙작전'에 복주님을 맥아더장군을 보좌하는 작전참모 제섭대령역으로 캐스팅하고 거기에 영화 '암살'에 나왔던 박병은 배우의 얼굴살을 좀 빼면 케빈 베이컨을 닮아서 범수씨가 원하는 미국 본토에서 상당히 흥행을 할 가능성을 높여줄 것입니다. 미국인 입장에서 '인천상륙작전'은 별 관심이 없는 게 사실입니다. 다만, 리암니슨과 잭니콜슨이 위치가 바뀌어서 나오는 것때문에 미국의 언론을 탈 수가 있고 상당히 호기심을 자극시켜 입소문을 낼 수가 있습니다. 거기에다 케빈베이컨같은 사람의 등장까지 한국 영화를 달리 보게 만들것입니다.

Actor Lee Soo-Hyuk and Yuri from idol group 'Girls' Generation' are cast in upcoming OCN drama series NEIGHBORHOOD'S HERO which has already cast Park Si-Hoo and Cho Seong-Ha.

In drama series NEIGHBORHOOD'S HERO, Lee Soo-Hyuk plays Choi Chan-Gyoo. His character has tried to pass a police entrance examination but failed multiple times. He meets ex-secret agent Baek Shi-Yoon (Park Si-Hoo). Choi Chan-Gyoo then receives training from Baek Shi-Yoon. Meanwhile, Yuri will play Bae Jung-Yeon. She works as a screenplay writer and wants to use Baek Shi-Yoon, Im Tae-Ho (Cho Seong-Ha) and Choi Chan-Gyoo  as a material for her screenplay.

NEIGHBORHOOD'S HERO first airs sometime next year in South Korea.

According to MBC, upcoming drama series “Goodbye Mr. Black,” starring Lee Jin-Wook, Moon Chae-Won, Song Jae-Rim & Kim Kang-Woo, will begin to air in either March or early April, 2016. The drama series will air Wednesday and Thursday at 10PM. The MBC drama series preceding “Goodbye Mr. Black” has not yet been announced.
