Iseltwald on Lake Brienz is overrun by Koreans. The first K-drama OST orchestra concert by a Korean orchestra will be held in Hong Kong in November. 

The performance of Most Orchestra is unique in that it is the first overseas performance of an orchestra centered on K-drama. 

K-dramas have played an important role in introducing Korean contents to the world for the first time through 'Dae Jang Geum' and 'Winter Sonata' to the extent that they can be called the ancestors of the Korean Wave. Recently, along with the rapid growth of the OTT market, 'Squid Game', 'Strange Lawyer Woo Young-woo', and 'The Glory' are gaining global popularity.

 

 

Overseas, orchestra-based OST concert tours are being conducted for hit dramas and movies, but in the case of K-dramas, despite their global popularity, there has been no case of such type of OST concert being presented overseas. 

According to a Most Orchestra official on April 18, this Hong Kong performance, which will be held under the title of 'Memories from OST', will incorporate a new orchestra-based OST concert format, which has been consistently presented in Korea since 2019 and received a great response, We plan to present a variety of fun and impressions by covering all the hit K-drama OSTs so far. In addition, as Korean and Hong Kong singers are also planning to collaborate, it is expected that it will be a good opportunity to publicize the charm of K-drama OSTs abroad.

On the 19th (local time) , experts at the conference ' The Future of Hallyu ' held in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Asia-Pacific Research Center ( APARC ) of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, USA, focused on K- drama. The success factors of Hallyu were 'Hungry spirit for stories' and 'Korean standards'. 

Experts who participated in the conference expressed admiration for the hunger spirit for a story that gives universal sympathy. Bonnie Tilland, a professor at Leiden University in the Netherlands, mentioned 'Cjapaguri (Cjapaguri + Neoguri)' with strip meat from the movie 'Parasite' and said, "Even through food materials with strong Korean colors, universal feelings of belonging and heterogeneity are drawn. “Crash Landing On You” Breaks Record for Online Clip Views

With 1.75 billion online views "Crash Landing on You" has outperformed the prior leader for most viewed drama clips, "Mr. Sunshine", by only 200 million views. This follows up on news that "Crash Landing on You" had higher terrestrial ratings than "Goblin", the previous all-time leader for tvN.

 

The news was released on February 20th, with the relevant analysis taking clips from Naver, Kakao, YouTube, and other relevant online platforms into account. The analysis was conducted until February 17th, the day after the last episode for "Crash Landing on You", and anticipated that around 110 million of the views identified were repeats

 

For any drama to be popular with clips online is unusual. Compared to variety shows, dramas need more context to be understood. The only dramas to exceed one billion online views last year were "Hotel Del Luna" and "When the Camellia Blooms". The data may also reflect the increased popularity of online clips in general. 
"Goblin" from 2016 had 180 million views over its final three weeks, compared to 230 million for "Crash Landing on You".

 

Another relevant factor is that "Crash Landing on You" was on air for longer. Preemptions made it such that the sixteen episode drama was on tvN for ten weeks, rather than the eight implied by its sixteen episode running time. The best performing clip was the tikitaka scene featuring actors Yang Kyung-won and Son Ye-jin, which earned 5 million views. The clip where "Secretly and Greatly" star Kim Soo-hyun reprised his role in "Crash Landing on You" accounted for 1.27 million views.
