Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin Say They’ll Live Happily

Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin showed they were happy and ready for their new married life.

Just before their marriage ceremony on December 2, Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin held a press conference. As the two are famous as one of the official star couples, more than 100 members of the press came in to cover the marriage.

Yoo showed much consideration for his bride-to-be, Kim Hyo Jin. He held her hand and didn’t let go even for a moment, and the two kissed each other’s cheeks to show they were indeed deeply in love. They even kissed slightly on their lips and smiled shy yet happy smiles.

Yoo said, “Thank you for coming to our wedding. We’ll try to live as happily as we can. Keep your eyes on us.”

Kim also said shortly, “I’m so thankful to see the many reporters here for our wedding, and I think today’s a very happy day. I’ll live happily.”

Kim shined as the beautiful bride, in a pearl tiara and a luxurious dress, and Yoo also became a sophisticated groom in his black tuxedo.

Yoo and Kim were wed at the Seoul Shilla Hotel Dynasty Hall. It was conducted by President Park Jong Sam of World Vision, for which the two were appointed as honorary ambassadors, and the first part was hosted by actor Ji Jin Hee, while the second was hosted by comedian Kim Jun Ho. Pianist Park Jong Hun played to congratulate the couple, while Lee Gi Chan, Jin Joo, Yoon Jung Hee and Bada sang.

The two first met in 2003 as models for a clothing brand, and became friends after continuously meeting in photo shoots. They started their relationship from early 2007, and announced they were together to become an official star couple in May of the same year.

Yoo debuted with the 1998 film Bye June, and continued on his acting career with hits Attack the Gas Station!, Old Boy, One Fine Spring Day and Midnight F.M. He also directed Out of My Intention and Sansevieria. Kim made her debut in 1999 as a CF model, and starred in the MBC sitcom Nonstop, the films Everybody Has Secrets, Five Senses of Eros, and the drama Mary Stayed Out All Night.

Actor couple Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin had a movielike wedding in the presence of many stars congratulating them.

On the 2nd of December at 6:00 p.m., Yoo and Kim married at Hotel Shilla in Jangchoong-dong, Seoul. They dated for five years and finally set the wedding date on December 2, the date when they began dating. As it is written in the wedding invitation, their relationship bore a fine fruit on the 1825th day.

Park Jong Sam, the president of World Vision Korea in which the couple works as honorary ambassadors, officiated the wedding that was held in private. Actor Ji Jin Hee hosted the first part of the wedding while comedian Kim Joon Ho led the second part. Pianist Park Jong Hoon gave a performance and Lee Ki Chan, Jin Joo, Yoon Hee Jung, and Bada sang in congratulation.

Living up to their reputation as models, the beautiful bride Kim Hyo Jin and handsome groom Yoo Ji Tae grabbed people’s eyes at once. The couple showed up in beautiful wedding dress and tuxedo in the first part and greeted guests in Hanbok during the second part of the wedding. Yoo and Kim spent three months choosing what to wear on the wedding, along with other things, for they are known as “fashionistas” in the world of entertainers.

Another thing that drew attention besides this beautiful couple is flooding in star guests, bringing up a scene of a film festival.

Many top stars such as An Seung Gi, Park Joong Hoon, Lee Byung Hun, Ha Ji Won, Cha Seung Won, Song Yoon Ah, Go Soo, Park Hae Il, Soo Ae, Ku Hye Sun, Han Hyo Joo, and Moon Geun Young appeared at the wedding. The couple of Tablo and Kang Hye Jung also showed up. Other stars including Shin Ha Kyun, Han Hye Jin, Yoo Sun, Cha Tae Hyun, Lee Chun Hee, Kim So Yeon, Kim Kyu Ri, Ryu Hyun Kyung, Park Jung Ah, Joan, Shawn, Lee Hui Hyang, Sooyoung, Choi Siwon, Cha Ye Ryun, Um Ji Won, Yang Mira, So Yoo Jin, Han Jung Soo, Choi Song Hyun, and Lee Ah Hyun congratulated the wedding.

An hour before the wedding, Yoo and Kim held a press conference. Yoo said, “I’ll give my best in keeping this marriage happy. Watch me.” Kim added shyly, “Today is a very happy day. We have a happy life together.” The reporters asked for more, and the couple kissed shyly on the cheek and lips.

Meanwhile, the couple drew attention by refusing all congratulatory wreaths and announcing that a part of the money they get from the wedding will be donated to build elementary and middle school for Pigida in Myanmar, who is registered in World Vision. Moreover, the couple printed wedding invitations on recycled papers.

The couple’s sweet honeymoon, however, is postponed to next year. Kim is shooting The Taste of Money while Yoo is busy preparing to direct Santeberia. They plan on leaving for honeymoon after finishing their work.

Korea’s top actresses gathered together at the wedding of Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin held on December 2, and some even came forth to prove it by sharing photos they took with their fellow actresses.

Han Jung Soo posted a photo on December 3 on her Me2Day with the caption, “At Hyo Jin’s ceremony with Korea’s top actresses.”

In the photo, top actresses Han Hye Jin, Lee Yun Ji, Moon Keun Young and Kim So Yeon smile back at the camera. Han Hye Jin especially had many heads turning, as she was said to be the most beautiful of them all.

All of the actresses in the photo are from Kim Hyo Jin’s agency, Namoo Actors, and came together to congratulate her despite their busy schedules.

As soon as the photo was posted, many netizens commented, ‘Han Hye Jin is so beautiful’, ‘All of Korea’s top actresses are here’ and ‘Kim Hyo Jin knows so many people!’

Yoo Ji Tae and Kim Hyo Jin were wed on December 2 after building up their relationship for five years as one of the most representative star couples.

Actress Kim Hyo-jin, who has fallen under the spotlight since she married fellow actor Yoo Ji-tae last week, returns to the silver screen after a long absence with a daring new role.

Kim plays the lead role of a lesbian dealing with the challenges of a same-sex relationship in Korea in the movie "Life is Peachy," which was released here on Thursday.

In the film, Kim and her co-star Kim Kko-bbi get to test audience sensitivity to their depiction of a romantically involved couple. The two actresses kiss in some scenes and also appear in sex scenes that involve a degree of nudity.

"We were comfortable about doing this because we were already good friends. I didn't feel that a gay romance was that different or weird," said Kim Hyo-jin. "The love in the film was between two people who just happened to both be women."

Kim Kko-bbi added, "Because it was about same-sex love, we watched foreign films and TV series on this topic. But when the cameras started rolling, I think we just followed our own feelings and style."

"Life is Peachy" was officially invited to the Panorama section at the 61st Berlin International Film Festival in early February this year.
