Actor Oh Ji-ho and actress Kim Hyo-jin, co-stars of upcoming Korea-China-Japan produced TV series "Stranger 6," have been named promotional ambassadors for the city of Yeosu in the South Jeolla Province in Korea.

Accordingly, the two on Sunday attended a ceremony where Yeosu Mayor Kim Chung-seog appointed the two as the city's PR ambassadors, a press release issued by the show's promoter YTree Media said today.

Yeosu, set to host the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, had also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the drama itself on July 1 being the city that part of "Stranger 6" will be shot.

"Forming a business partnership with 'Stranger 6' which is set to go on air in some 30 countries over the world will become an opportunity to make the beauty of Yeosu known widely and appointing the two stars, who have many fans both domestically and internationally, as PR ambassadors will contribute much to promoting not only our city but the 2012 Yeosu Korea as well," the government of Yeosu city was quoted as saying in the statement.

"Strangers 6," set to air during the latter half of this year, will tell the story of six individuals from Korea, Japan and China assigned by the highest level authorities of their respective countries to protect the three countries' joint economic area from being interfered by an organization.

The show will be overseen by China's leading production company Beijing Hualu Baina Film&Tv Co., Ltd. while Japan's FujiTV, WOWOW and Index and Korea's W media Contents, BnC Entertainment and HnB Pictures will take part in creating the series.

Source: Newsen via Nate // Photo: Vogue Korea by exceptlove allkpop.com // Nate 1 l 2

2011072214512747689_1.jpg

To celebrate their 15th anniversary, fashion magazine ‘Vogue Korea‘ revealed a special pictorial and interviews with 15 of the nation’s top actresses.

Jang Mi Hee, Lee Mi Sook, Kim Hee Ae, Yum Jung Ah, Kim Yeo Jin, Song Yoon Ah, Ye Ji Won, Kim Yun Jin, Moon Sori, Uhm Ji Won, Kang Hye Jung, Kim Hyo Jin, Hwang Jung Eum, Han Hyo Joo, and Shin Se Kyung all participated in photoshoots that expressed strong, if not unique concepts.

In the pictorial, Jang Mi Hee shows off her long hair, a look that best resembles herself from her younger days, while Lee Mi Sook displays a naturally disheveled look that was both sexy and flattering.

Kim Hee Ae transformed into Joan of Arc, Yum Jung Ah conveyed the image of an actual actress on set, and Kim Yeo Jin garnered interest for her Puritan-era look. Since Song Yoon Ah is known for her composed image, she took on a look of a ’smooth’ woman.

Furthermore, Ye Ji Won dyed her hair blonde like Marilyn Monroe’s and exhibited the look of a dancer, while Kim Yun Jin had the concept of a female warrior. As for Moon Sori, she decided to wear a hijab; Uhm Ji Won, meanwhile, donned a classic and feminine 1940s outfit.

Kang Hye Jung’s bohemian concept attracted great attention, while Kim Hyo Jin wore the look of an intellectual. Hwang Jung Eum manifested the concept of a cute girl gone bad by simultaneously showing a naive charm alongside a villainous look.

Han Hyo Joo presented the look of a dramatic actress and lastly, Shin Se Kyung displayed the ‘Lolita’ concept by looking like a youthful girl who’s trapped in a cage.

In addition, each actresses’ honest and lively relay interviews will amuse readers, almost as if they were watching a film. Titled ‘Actresses 2′, the interviews will share personal stories of their pleasures and joys of being an average woman, even though they have the glamorous career of actresses.

Jang Mi Hee tells stories of classic actresses like Jung Yoon Hee and Yoo Ji In from back in the day. Lee Mi Sook talks of how she will exercise and live like an actress, physically and mentally, until her death. Yum Jung Ah opens up about not associating herself with being a princess or an actress, and Kang Hye Jung relays the dramatic scenes of giving birth.

Kim Hyo Jin, meanwhile, confesses that she loves Yoo Ji Tae increasingly with time. And finally, Moon Sori shares how she cooly responded to criticisms like ‘Your depth is deep, but your width is narrow‘ from her director husband, Jang Joon Hwan.

Vogue Korea’s 15th anniversary pictorial can be found in the August issue of the magazine.

Actress Kim Hyo-jin Takes Message of Hope to Albanian Children

Source: englishnews@chosun.com

Actress Kim Hyo-jin's real-life role as a promotional ambassador for the evangelical charity World Vision has taken her to danger spots around the world. She has visited some of the poorest countries on the planet, such as Mongolia, Laos, and Uganda, and even found herself engaged in volunteering activities in Sudan last year amid a pitched gun battle.

However nothing prepared her for what she encountered in Albania, where the dire conditions had almost stripped local children of their will to live.

"When I was in Africa, I would hear children talk about their hopes. But the children here do not seem to cherish any dreams at all. I never imagined such a [miserable] place could exist in Europe," said Kim, who has been working with the charity since 2005.

2011073000247_1.jpg

A girl kisses Kim Hyo-jin at a residential area in Dibra, Albania, during the actress' visit to the country in her real-life role as an ambassador for the charitable organization World Vision.

She put on a brave face when she first met the Albanian children, but shed tears when she had to leave them. At this year's summer camp hosted by the charity organization in the eastern European country, Kim sought to plant the seeds of hope in some of the kid's minds.

"Amid such awful conditions, it seemed there was nothing I could do to make things better. But I saw the children become filled with hope after the camp," she said. "I'd like to help them so that more positive changes can take place [in their lives]."

Kim now sponsors a dozen children in Asia and Africa. When Haiti was struck by an earthquake last year, she and her boyfriend, actor Yoo Ji-tae, each donated W10 million to help the victims (US$1=W1,052).

Through World Vision, the only Korean non-governmental organization working in Albania, over 5,500 children have found sponsors, and another 1,500 are waiting for someone to help lift them out of their desperate situation.

Fashionista acting couple Yoo Ji Tae (best known for his role in Old Boy) and Kim Hyo Jin recently posed for Harper’s BAZAAR magazine.

The two who are engaged to marry at the end of this year and they gave readers a sneak peek at their engagement photos through their photo shoot.

This pictorial was all the more meaningful for the two, as they have been publicly dating for years, but this was the first photo shoot they have participated in as a couple. The two reportedly wanted to use their first and last photo shoot together as a non-married couple to properly capture their last moments before they officially become husband and wife.

The couple did not shoot a typical engagement photo shoot as they looked chic and modern, and used the shoot as an opportunity to express their unchanging feelings for one another.

Kim Hyo Jin was the envy of the staff members on set, as Yoo Ji Tae was being such a gentleman with his fiance, looking after her at every moment.

And even during his interview, Yoo Ji Tae just couldn’t stop gushing about his fiance. “I’m so blessed“, he said expressing his emotions. He continued, “I thought about this idea this morning when I saw her upon stepping into hair and makeup. Some couples say that they are compatible because they have similar interests, or that they make each other better people. But I just love knowing that this person is mine. I still love the way my heart flutters every time I see her.”

Kim Hyo Jin said, “Oppa is someone I can always learn so much from. He’s got such a warm and kind heart, and he’s been the first to show me what love is. Even to this day, when I see him, my heart responds to what my eyes see… Even after we’re married, I hope we can continue to get along as friends, as colleagues, and as lovers. I want to share everything we have with one another, be good to one another as husband and wife. I would also like for us both to continue to work hard at our careers.”

Ironically, the two actually met each for the first time at a photo shoot that took place 9 years ago and this was the first photo shoot they have participated together in since.

Yoo Ji Tae stated, “We did a photo shoot together a little after I graduated from Grad School. Whenever I had a rough day or I was feeling a bit down, I would always look at the photos from my photo shoot with her and get a warm feeling with encouragement. This is the first time in 9 years we’ve done this, and I hope that we do this once again 9 years from today.”

The wedding date is set for December 2nd, which also happens to be their dating anniversary date.

Yoo Ji-tae and Kim Hyo-jin’s wedding photos

Via Hankyung by javabeans dramabeans.com

20111201_1322713283_45064900_1.jpg

Eee, these may be my favorite wedding photos ever. (Pre-wedding photos, to be specific.) I just love the old-fashioned dress and styling here; vintage wedding photos are my favorite.

Actors Yoo Ji-tae (Oldboy, A Star’s Lover) and Kim Hyo-jin (Mary Stayed Out All Night) have been dating for years and are all set to tie the knot this Friday, at Seoul’s Silla Hotel. The couple recently posed for a wedding-themed photo spread for Bazaar’s November issue, where they rocked a modern look with fashion-forward wedding-wear. I love that this set of photos goes completely in the direction, down to the lighting and the treatment of the image to look old and vintage. Fabulous.

The couple weds on December 2, and it’ll be a busy end of the year as the newlywed Yoo Ji-tae then takes on the filming of his directorial feature debut with Sansevieria, which will begin shooting in January.
