Rain has received a casting offer from upcoming drama Indian Summer.

Cube DC, Rain’s agency, spoke with Newsen on April 21 announcing, “Rain has recently been offered to act in Lee Hyung Min PD’s new drama Indian Summer. The offer was made due to the PD’s connection to Rain but his appearance in the drama has not been confirmed yet.”

Rain first gained recognition for his acting by starring in KBS 2TV’s Sang Doo, Let’s Go To School! directed by Lee Hyung Min PD in 2003. If he confirms to act in Indian Summer, he will be returning to the small screen after four years since he starred in KBS 2TV’s The Fugitive: Plan B.

Indian Summer is a romance drama that is scheduled to air in the latter half of this year.

Meanwhile, Rain recently wrapped up promotions for his 6th album Rain Effect and has been carrying out schedules in and out of Korea.

Idol group MBLAQ revealed the status of their relationship with singer Rain.

In Mnet "Beatles Code 3D" aired yesterday, MBLAQ talked about recently moving from J. Tune Entertainment, the same agency as Rain, to Cube Entertainment. They stated, "Our contract ended."

The MCs asked, "So Rain wasn't the CEO?" and MBLAQ said, "No, there's a separate CEO. As artists, it's only natural that we go look for a better environment and offers at the time. I think that's why we moved."

MBLAQ was referred to as "Rain's group" in their days of debut. About this, Mir said, "Yes. He really was our producer."

The MCs again asked, "Does that mean he stopped working with you guys?" and the members said, "Rain told us right before going to the army that he wants us to be able to stand on our own now. He said that it was time for him to let go of us."

When they were asked, "Do you guys still keep in touch?" and they answered, "We contact him but he doesn't reply," arousing laughter.

Rain could be in for ‘Indian Summer’

Singer and actor Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is rumored to be joining the drama “Indian Summer” (working title), according to local media yesterday.

“Rain was recently offered a part in the drama, but nothing has been settled yet,” said his agency, Cube Entertainment.

“Indian Summer” is produced by Lee Hyung-min, who worked with Rain 11 years ago on the KBS drama “Sang-doo, Let’s Go to School!” The broadcaster for “Indian Summer” has not been decided yet.

The drama is said to be a tragic love story about wounded people from very different backgrounds.

Rain is currently in China to shoot Gao Xixi’s new film “Hong Yan Lu Shui,” which is scheduled to be released in Korea on Nov. 11.

“Indian Summer” is set to begin shooting in June.

Singer Rain has received a love-call to join Lee Hyungmin PD’s upcoming drama “Indian Summer.” Lee Hyungmin PD also happens to be the one who Rain worked with for his debut K-Drama “Sang Doo! Let’s Go To School.” Rain’s agency stated, “Rain has received an offer to star in Lee Hyungmin PD’s next drama, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

"Indian Summer" will air near the second half of the year. It is expected to be one of the top dramas of this year with its traditional melodrama genre.

*** I want to watch a GOOD and HAPPY ending. I love movies/dramas that have a lot of romantic and a bit dramatic moments. Unlike K-dramas, most of them have no happy ending. In K-movies, although some have happy endings, most will end with tragedy and tears. Their plot is usually the character is dying of cancer - hahaha.  I really hope this upcoming movie gets a happy ending. You know, I like a drama on the second watch. When I watch them the first time all the way through, I don´t like them much. Have you guys experienced that with anything you're watching as well?
