SOUTH Korean actress Song Hye Kyo last week downplayed rumours of a quarrel with Hong Kong film-maker Wong Kar Wai during the filming of The Grandmaster, but admitted that there was "some difficulty" with the director.

Although there was "a bit of friction and misunderstanding" with Wong while filming his recent flick, the difficulties helped her mature, she said in an interview with The Korea Herald/Asia News Network,

"It (was not) easy. For me, it was the first time working with Wong. As (Hong Kong film-makers') way of filming was different from that of Koreans, there were both highs and lows (in the filming process)," she said during a promotional event for her new TV drama, That Winter, The Wind Blows, in which she plays a blind heiress of a conglomerate.

The 31-year-old gained fame in Asia as one half of a star-crossed couple in the TV weepie, Autumn In My Heart (2000), which starred South Korean hunks Song Seung Heon and Won Bin.

Since then, she has starred in hit TV shows like All In (2003), a gambling drama about the fierce competition in the casino world, with South Korean heartthrob Lee Byung Hun.

Song famously fell for him while on the set. When they split up the following year, it was the hottest story in South Korean showbiz.

In 2004, she co-starred with singer Rain in the hit romantic-comedy series, Full House.

Song's most recent movie outing was this year's martial-arts film, The Grandmaster. In the movie, she plays the wife of legendary Chinese martial-arts fighter Yip Man, played by Hong Kong actor Tony Leung.

Early this year, Hong Kong news outlets reported that Song and other cast members bickered with Wong over filming schedules and their parts in the movie.

According to the reports, Leung was furious with Wong for deleting a large portion of his scenes.

Neither Wong nor the cast members have directly addressed the rumours, but suspicions of a dispute between Leung and Wong faded somewhat after the two attended this year's Chinese Film Festival together.

So how does Song's Grandmaster co-star rate her?

Leung said: "For an actress who must face a huge language barrier, to come and still do her role so professionally... Well, I think that is amazing."

[sports SeoulㅣeNews Team] Kim Jae Dong said he wants to cast Song Hye Kyo.

On July 10th at a special press conference for the 100th episode of Healing Camp held at the ‘Secret Garden Training Camp,’ Kim Jae Dong mentioned wanting Song Hye Kyo as a guest.

He said, “Pom Nyun Su-nim, baseball player Lee Seong Yeop, and actor Seol Kyung Gu are some of the most memorable guests. It seems the guests I contact are the most memorable. Right now I am in constant contact with Song Hye Kyo, so please wait.”

He continued, “I am thinking of (Kim) Tae Hee, (Song) Hye Kyo, (Jeon)Ji Hyun, and there’s even (Kang) Dong Won.”

Netizens who heard the news of Kim Jae Dong pushing to have Song Hye Kyo as a guest made such comments as, “If Kim Jae Dong has Song Hye Kyo as a guest, it would really be fun,” “I pray and hope it happens soon enough,” Oh, so Kim Jae Dong and Song Hye Kyo are still friends.”

In the meantime, Healing Camp, which first broadcast in 2011, will celebrate its 100th episode on July 15th.

Song Hye Kyo " When i think about "That Winter" it seems like a dream,Jo In Sung is superb"
Sina: It's been 5 years since you starred in a drama, what makes you want to accept this drama?Is this one of the best script that you have gotten?what attracts you the most when you read the script?
Hye Kyo: First and foremost i really trust Director Kim and Writer Noh. I was a little apprehensive at first as it is a remake,but because of both of them i decided to take part in this drama. Most importantly my character " Oh Young" is different from my previous characters,she is full of charisma.
Sina: Was acting as a blind a big challenge for you?How was your preparations like? Did you discuss with the Director?After meeting the blind, what inspires you the most?
Hye Kyo:I met with a lot of blind people at welfare home.The symptoms varies from one person to another,my character is able to see little dot . I have discussed with the Director a lot of times and i want to break prejudice of other people towards the blind through my potrayal of Oh Young. Just like " If you can't see, you won't be able to do anything." etc (actually they can still do sports, wear high heels and put on make up etc). Eventhough it's a little troublesome but blind people lives the same way as normal people.Before i went to the welfare home, i have the same prejudice like others and i felt embarrassed for myself for having this thought.
Sina: There are a lot of close up scenes, were you burdened by them? Did you suffer while filming?Did you have any secret for shooting close up scenes?
Hye Kyo: No burden for me. The cameraman and lighting crew are too good. Oh Young character must have close up because the audience will be able to see and feel her emotions with every slight expression she makes.This arrangement helps Oh Young a lot,i need to thank The Director for choosing this method to shoot Oh Young.
Sina:This is a sad drama, often audience will be reduced to tears. Is it hard for you to walk out of from  your character (take example Oh young)?
Hye Kyo: Not long after the drama ended, i felt really terrible for some time.It's hard to express it with words,i felt empty.Now i think about it, it's just like a dream and now i am back to Song Hye Kyo.
Sina: Did you ever worried about working with Jo In Sung? What did you learn  and how do you feel  working with him?Did you opinion about him change after this drama?
Hye Kyo: I have known Jo In Sung for a long time, thus we don't need time to warm up before the filming begin.He's a good partner and we took care of each other, thank you! He acted as Oh Soo perfectly,so it's a great help for me.Jo In Sung is always passionate towards acting,he is an easy going and superb actor.
Sina: There were lots of crying scenes and you entered into the freezing water during winter, did you cried because of the hardships?
Hye Kyo: It's really cold.Oh Young and Oh Soo were trembling . But it's as if we forgot that it's winter once we started shooting because we were too focus.
Sina: In this drama, often you would flare up and were angsty ,it's different from your previous characters that are soft spoken.How did you focus for your character?In China, many people are discussing how much you improve and you controlled every emotions perfectly. In reality, how do you think we can be happy?
Hye Kyo: Do your best, be discipline and work hard. For me, holiday and resting time are the happiest.
Sina: That Winter ending is a happy one,but it also seems like Oh Young's dream.What is your perfect ending?
Hye Kyo:Oh Soo and Oh Young have experienced much sufferings, so i love a happy ending.Now both of them deserve a happy ending right?

Sina: How is working with Tony Leung? Can you talk about your understanding towards your character " Zhang Yong Cheng"?
Hye Kyo:Zhang Yong Cheng is a real character but because there's not much information about her so my understanding is limited.Maybe because of this, she is a bit mysterious and i think she is a tough woman
Sina: The Grandmaster took 4 years to complete,You said after a long time of waiting and travelling back and forth makes you want to give up.What makes you press on till the end?
Hye Kyo:The filming process of The Grandmaster is different from other projects and it took 4 years to complete.I said that i wanted to give up,but it's more like whining and it's not as if i wanted to really give it up.Since i decided to take part,it's only good to finish it till the end? I met with some difficulties during the preparations and filming but i learnt a great deal and becomes more mature by working with Director Wong and other great actors and actresses. As an actress, it's really a valuable experience.
Sina: This movie receives great reviews and box office in China. You acted as an elegant and dignified wife of Ip Man,eventhough you have limited screen time but you left a deep impression on the audience.Are you satisfied with your performance? Do you have any regrets? It's going to air in Korea, how do you introduce this movie to  oreans? What are you hoping for when it arrives in Korea?
Hye Kyo: Eventhough i have a short screen time but when i heard that Chinese audience love my performance i was extremely happy.This is a martial arts's movie,i just hoped that my screen time will help a little and i think i did it that's why i am happy.I hope that when it arrives in Korea, people will show more love towards Director Wong and the actors and actresses who worked hard for this movie.
Sina: We heard that you are preparing to shoot for " The Crossing",can you tell us a little bit about your character? and what is your expectation towards this movie?
Hye Kyo: Being able to work with a great director such as Director Woo has already made me happy.The script is meaningful, now we are in the midst of preparing so  i can't reveal much.Hope we will be able to present it to everyone as soon as possible. Director Woo and all the casts are outstanding so i am excited. I need to work hard and we are filming really soon.
Sina: If we talk about  Autumn Love now, it seems like a long time ago.But through it, Chinese audience came to know and love you, what this drama means for you and its effect on you?
Hye Kyo: Just like the question, this is the drama that made me known in China.It is a drama that i am grateful and thankful for.It's also a drama that turned me into a star in Korea so it gives me a lot of memories.
Sina: What is your plan for your future acting career? Are you planning to go into Hollywood?
Hye Kyo: I don't really have plan to go to Hollywood. I think if i work hard and do my job well in China and Korea, there will be opportunities for me in other countries too.
Sina: Your book " Hye Kyo's Time" has reached Chinese readers,the pictorials are beautiful. Which pictorial and writings you love the most? Did you take part in the editing process?
Hye Kyo: I love all the pictorials and i wrote all the writings. I have met with the publishers a lot of times and have also given a lot of my opinions.
Sina: You have visited China a lot of times due to your work,which city do you love the most? Is there any city that you want to visit but haven't had a chance to?
Hye Kyo: I love Shanghai,i always feel that it is an attractive city. Few years ago i went to Yunnan and Shangrila for cf , they are very beautiful.I haven't been to many places in China but i hope to be able to visit every city in the future.
Sina: There are many people in China that like you, can you leave some message for them?
Hye Kyo: Thank you for everyone's love and concern, i will repay everyone's love with good projects and good acting. Fans' encouragement gives me a lot of strength,thank you! I hope everyone will be healthy and i hope to be able to meet all of you often.

All along " Little sister Kyo" a nickname embedded into the hearts of many Song Hye Kyo's fans. More often than not, a nickname like this reflects a true state of a person heart. 17 years of acting career, but the current Song Hye Kyo still gives us the "Little sister Kyo" memories and aura that we have always known.
All that have come to interview Hye Kyo always come into the same conclusion : She always gives everyone she meets a very endearing and warm smile.She gaze at you when you ask her a question, making hand gestures while answering them.It gives the feeling that she takes the interviewer's questions seriously.However this only happens when you ask questions about her works and her recipe of maintaining her health and skin care routine. Her private matters, she seldom talks about them.
In 2013, she appeared in small screen through "That Winter The Wind Blows", beautiful close ups,classic dialogues,emotional entanglements.This is Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung work that made a mark in the drama industry.Acting as a blind person, she needs to give up on her "weapon" of being able to express herself through her eyes.Instead, she uses her face expressions and body language to express her emotions and feelings,for Song Hye Kyo it is a big challenge.Challenge is a good opportunity to hone her skills,she said.

Through "That Winter" and her book "Hye Kyo's Time", she appears in front of the audience with her new bob hairstyle. As people says time is women's greatest enemy but for Song Hye Kyo, time seems to have no effect on her. In That Winter, many close up scenes showed her makeup -less face with no blemishes whatsoever. It's understandable to be without blemishes for the first few episodes, but it gains jealousy and envy from many girls as  her skin continues to glow till the last episode.Eventhough Song Hye Kyo said " it's all due to the lighting crew and cameraman great skills that i look beautiful",but do you really believe just that? The fundamental rule is the actress herself must be beautiful too.
For Song Hye Kyo, rumours regarding her plastic surgery, complicated romance and her lack of acting skills etc,it's a never ending story.In the past. we have seen her clarifying those rumours after being reduced to tears by those reports,but now she is indifferent towards those.She said in an interview "There are so many biasness and rumours regarding me, no matter how much i clarify and explain people won't believe. So i think the most important for me is doing my job well and i won't bother about the rumours from people who don't even know me." 
In 2012, through "The Grandmaster"  Song Hye Kyo has only 6 minutes screen time and one line dialogue.But as Song Hye Kyo donned in qi pao and chignon, people starts asking "is that the Song Hye Kyo that we all know?" This can be regarded as a nod and appreciation from the audience towards her performance and she surely has gained valuable skills from working with Wong Kar Wai.
In "The Crossing" directed by John Woo, she will be working with Zhang Zi Yi, Takeshi Kaneshiro,Huang Xiao Ming and Dong Da Wei etc.It is a movie surrounding a disaster theme with 50 years time span.3 couples with different background experiencing wars and disasters and their journeys in reaching a happy ending. But how do the lives of these 6 people intertwine and how do they end up with each other? this indeed increases the curiosity of the media. Will her dream of working with Takeshi Kaneshiro during her school days come true if she were to be paired with him?
Song Hye Kyo just like a flower,like the fragrance of a lily, her character like the moon.While she does not seem to appear as bright as the sun,but just like the moon, she exudes and holds her own light in the dark.This light is lasting and brings about stability to others, the current Song Hye Kyo must be craving for some stability in her own life?
