Devilish Joy

This new drama has a fairy tale beginning that starts in Hainan, China, an exotic setting that combines the blue seas, resorts, and a wonderful mix of traditional and modern Chinese architecture. In “Devilish Joy,” Ju Gi Ppeum (Song Ha Yoon) is an actress who goes to Hainan to film a TV commercial. Wanting to escape the filming crew and wander off to explore the island, she meets Gong Ma Seong (Choi Jin Hyuk), a genius doctor who saves her from bad guys. As they go around the movie town Haikou (which literally looks like a film set), the two become attracted to each other. Things progress quickly as Ma Seong kisses Gi Ppeum before promising to meet again, but later on, Ma Seong becomes diagnosed with “Cinderella Memory Disorder,” which means his memories of the previous day disappear at twelve o’clock. Will he remember their sweet whirlwind day in the island?

*** I heard that CJH is holding a FM in Japan at the end of this year. It will be held in Osaka in December, also to promote his current drama, "DH" there. He must have loved the place so much since it's only been some months since he had one in Tokyo. Japanese fans must have loved him, too that they have been demanding his return.  This drama was exported to Japan very fast.  I heard that this drama will be aired in Japan early next year. Not only Japanese fans love him but Taiwanese fans as well. "DH" was broadcast simultaneously in Taiwan via IQIYI & I heard that it did well, rating-wise.

Haha someone mentioned about his wearing suits during the script reading.  His suits look a bit familiar with DJ’s wardrobe.  Perhaps he came in between DJ shootings since the script reading took place 10/6 while CJH was busy filming for DJ.  
 
Btw You probably heard about DF’s shut down.  The number of cables in Asia are broadcasting DJ but for other countries(like US…) DF had an exclusive right for DJ. Then out of the blue I learned that DF announced it was closing the company when DJ still had 4 more episodes left.   Now DJ has no eng subs. Yes some members translated some IG clips for yesterday and today’s eps.    What a mess. There are many viewers left out in the cold with so much frustration.  I read some DF member had their link shut off while watching a drama.

Hi booha, thanks for sharing this. I heard there's an issue about the unpaid wages of actors and staff members for this drama. IDK about CJH's case, though.  They're supposed to be full-paid by August but the filming for the drama took longer than expected. It was resolved when they promised to finish the payments by next month, November.

DJ’ which came to end on 10/25, scored a meaningful result despite of its 11pm broadcast ((*very late for many viewers to be able to watch)) and the channels which aired DJ aren’t very active in the drama area.

 

In Nielsen Korea, the last view rating is about 2.6%,  combined with 2.241% for MBN and 0.4% for Dramax. ((*difficult to get correct ratings for DJ because two channels aired simultaneously))   It’s a fairly good report card, considering these channels are not very familiar to the public.
