newbie poster, but have been a Ji Hyun fan since My Sassy Girl. I've just started reading this thread from the beginning and I have a lot of catching up to do, so please bear with me if my posts are throwback references of previous posts/articles from years back. Hope I am welcome to join

I just want to say that I become a fan not just because of an artist's work or talent, but also the artist as a person. And, I think in my opinion, Jun Ji hyun is one of those artists who has depth in her work, who rarely conforms to the norm (being out and about with different controversies and all) of being in the entertainment industry, who follows her heart and uses her mind. Just by reading articles and interviews of her from past projects, this girl clearly has brains. She talks with sense. In reference to this, and I quote " I want to shoot movies that I would be proud to show my children", was her answer with regards to not making too much daring scenes. It's not being prude or anything, but like shes saying that she will stick to what she believes in or her values are, not minding if she has to turn down offers or will not have any offers at all, as long as she followed her heart and what she thinks is right. And I absolutely admire and salute her for that. I see her growth through the diversity of her projects, box-office hit or not. I am very happy that she was given the recognition she rightfully deserves on her last project, You Who Came From The Stars. People think that a romcom is the easiest to do. But actually, it's one of the hardest because all emotions are included in a romcom. And the fact that it's hard to make people laugh, cry, angry, and in love all at same time. Jun Ji Hyun showed all that in YWCFTS. She brought me through all of those emotions. She was flawless. Here's hoping for more award recognitions to come from this drama, and for more success in her future endeavors.

looking at those china offcam pics and video, I remember this quote from the 2007 Daisy presscon, "Among all the actresses, Jun Ji Hyun is the only one who does not look at the mirror and worry about how she looks." So true! I've seen some shots of her, out and about, without make-up, not all made-up, "stepford wifey" and she still manages to stand-out! I guess it's her way of saying that she dresses to express, not to impress. She doesnt seem to be vain and It's-all-about-me kind of girl, who feeds on the limelight and attention. So "un-showbiz" like. She's secure about her appearance, and at the same time, knows when to step-up when the occasion asks for it. Oh, and by the way, 30's is so the new 20's. Ji Hyun looks like she's only in her 20's! Like a good wine, she just gets better with age! Au Naturale! :\">
