He sure had it rough!! In a way, I think pulling clips from it and putting a video together was kind of therapeutic for me in terms of my feelings about the show. If that makes sense. But I do agree - it's one I won't be rewatching any time soon, and it for sure could have worked great as a movie!! Thanks for always being kind with your comments about my videos - it means an awful lot.

BPP is 1 of my fav drama because it's so "everyday life" imo. About a marriage gone sour, about a teenager kid (kind of rebellious) about the struggles of a breadwinner trying so hard to bring home the dough. About illness of a loved ones. If we look at people around us, we may encounter people whom we know in similar situations. I like drama like this but this one is really sad. Ji Cheol is such a sad man who doesn't communicate with his wife (a typical mistake in a long marriage).

He does think of safety, but he doesn't seem to be able to consider that other people might react differently to certain situations. He is professional, but he is also an extreme guy!

Remember in the first season he wanted to take the guys on a nonstop 21 (!) days sail, not even thinking that that might be too extreme for new sailors. Remember how our guys suffered in ONE over night sail, so imagine what those guys went through for those first 6 days! On the first day one of them was already seasick, and he suffered for all the 6 days that I saw. Also, the captain knew that there is a possibility for a typhoon, but he didn't even consider trying to go around it or wait. He sailed on, and put the guys into the most horrifying situation. They were literally afraid for their lives! And still the captain wanted to continue on his 21 days sail. Only after one of the guys put his foot down and told him that it's too much, that the captain thought about changing the plan.

Yes I was surprised/shocked about the 21 days sail. This is not a joke. Sure get seasick. Many donkey years ago when going to China from my country was via ship, as there wasn't flights available yet, my grandparents sailed for 7 days on the big ship & still fell seasick or motion sickness upon disembarkation.

And yes, the typhoon, even with a big ship can't even challenge the typhoon, what else a yacht that they're in. Whether the yacht is even built to withstand rough sea during typhoon is a question mark.

Once I saw a taiwanese interview, 1 of the taiwanese show host commented that k entertainment tend to have their variety shows to the extreme, not really considering safety.

Love how worried he was that his wife might get hurt.:D

I was browsing in my sleepy state this morning & I thought I saw/read he said his wife is the only woman he's ever loved. Wow, how lucky she is! Although he doesn't reveal her look/identity but by always professing his love for his wife on tv is a sure way to keep women at bay.

Tomo is Christmas Eve, wishing everyone a very happy & merry christmas!

That is so true. I think he is talented when it comes to movements. Just that his serious and adorable expression when dancing makes him look sooo cute. Different from his screen characters.

I'm just trying to imagine my (dearest) Pil Joo doing a dance!

Heyyy I was going to ask where were you? I havent read you in a while. You know? I can sleep in any position too, like a cat  They call me sleeping beauty for this reason (not because of the beauty part lol)

@dramafan33I've been very busy with domestic stuff lately. Didn't realised I've missed 6 pages! Lucky you to be able to sleep. I've been sleep deprived for many years now. Can't easily get to sleep or can't stay asleep. Very easily wake up. I've tried yoga, I've tried long walks....sometimes I'm so desperate that I take a flu tablet just to be drowsy & go to sleep. :tears:

Generally guys who has gone through military, can sleep anywhere & in any pattern.

There were like 3-4 times when I was so so sure he would fall into the water because he was already losing balance and falling backwards, but then he managed to catch himself and stabilize temporarily again. Don’t know how that is possible haha!

(I think) People who have martial arts training knows how to. Should be have a technique.

but from what I see he doesn't seem to have hobbies! He even enjoyed washing the rubber boat! :D He clearly doesn't go camping (the way he assembled that tent made that clear :) ) nor does he do any water sports. It seems like he just boxes, works and spends time with his family, which is commendable, but it would be nice if the girls would teach him some water sports, as he enjoys them so much.

Didn't he say before in some interviews donkey years ago that whenever he's not filming & the children had school hols, they would go camping? Although now I'm beginning to wonder if his way of "camping" & our way of "camping" is the same.

Definitely he won't go into water sports. He had phobia of water! But probably through this expedition, his phobia might be slowly eased. On his own he surely won't go do water sport on his own but hopefully through this, his phobia can be overcome if even a little bit.

Sound kind of sad to say he has no hobbies and to think someone commented he was a rascal on his ig and that he should be spending more time with family.  I can't blame him for making his ig private.  I'm just happy seeing him enjoy himself

Isn't boxing/gym his hobby? If it's something he loves doing, that's his hobby doesn't matter if it isn't the usual hobby that people are talking about.

Calling him a rascal is surely 1 rude chap! Who's he/she to comment what he should be doing or not doing? He's doing his work (drama, movie or variety). The person who commented probably thought that he's out having fun enjoying himself when he should be spending time with his family.

But yes, good to see him happy & enjoying himself. It sure is different feeling when he's out with friends & when he's out with his family esp his kids. I think the korean culture is still very traditional, like he gotta portray the father figure all the time (maybe).

But the thing was that several of them saw he was asleep with the sun on his face and no one bothered to wake him up...

Yes, this one got me too. Usually if it's our friend, we would either wake the person up or maybe slide the door close or pull the curtain or whatever deems fit but none of them did anything.

If I understood correctly, the reason he didn't want to get in the water at first has something to do with his skin being too white? unless he was afraid of getting sun burnt, I don't know why that would be a problem :)...

If he's (secretly) already filming a drama, he can't afford to have 1 episode of white skin & 1 episode of suntan skin. I guess this is the reason. Remember in DB, he was so red & they teased him about filming MF with a red skin.

I don’t like her, but just to set records straight, there has been no Chinese dramas starring SK artistes coming out in recent years since the THAAD spat between the 2 countries. I googled her works and from the title do you mean the drama Unruly Qiao? If yes, that came out 10 years ago in 2010.

I have no idea. I just came across it yesterday & it was dated May 2020. The title "The Mischievious Doctor" so IDK is it the same one you mentioned.

I think that doesn't reflect their culture, but more of JH's character or who he is.  My parents definitely come from that typical time and culture, but my dad also help my mom out with cooking and cleaning.  Although, I think more men are learning how to cook or can cook now as they stay single longer or marry later.

Your mum is so fortunate. My dad doesn't lift a finger to help my mum with any chores. Ya perhaps it's also JH character that he would help out around the house (clean the house) so that his wife doesn't have to do everything.

That's what the guys/girls do in military when outfield. Dig their own toilet bowl (a hole) & cover it back when business is done.

It goes in hand with what he say about wife and cooking too that they the guys should just be grateful that the wife cook.

Actually I'm rather surprised. I thought that Jap & Korean wives are more typical. I know Jap men don't prefer their wife to be working because it would mean that the men is unable to support his wife. I had the impression that K wives are also typical in the sense that housework & cooking is the wife's chores so when JH said that he's grateful that his wife cook, I got quite surprised.

Maybe the this generation of young married couples are different as in the sense that both spouse share equal house chores but older generation....

Yeah agree! It’s hard to overcome overnight.

I can just imagine his phobia & probably worries that if anything untoward happens to him, he still has his wife/kids & parents. Phobia is real. Even divers drown (accidents do happen).

you really should not hold your breath for an ending that makes sense...If there is one, then kudoz to the witer, but 9 out of 10 cases the ending will be hot mess concocted while filming based on the audience reactions, whether it makes sense or not...

This is my bitter conclusion after being disappointed countless times...

I agree. Sometimes the drama can be ok & suddenly the ending is .......!!! :triumph:

Looks like JH got stressed by the diving, and the captain had to complete it . I guess phobia is something that is hard to understand for someone who doesn't have it... Respect for him for even trying to do it, but I think he was bit low after...

There are things in life if we can't do it, we can't do it. Going underwater is one of it. For a non swimmer, going underwater is a scary thing. And this isn't a swimming pool, it's the deep sea.

  16. Out of topic

Hey folks, I stumbled upon a (new) chinese drama "Agents of M.S.S." (2020). I'm on episode 1 so I can't tell you if it's good but if anyone is interested in detective/crime sort of drama, give it a try. I thought it'll be like VOICE but I don't think so. Episode 1 isn't like VOICE :D The ML is also one of the leads for NIF.

His character is the kind I wish JH would play- very smart, very capable, and yet very damaged and vulnerable. At a certain point, he started to fall apart, and his acting was amazing! I was watching and I was wishing to see JH play a character in a situation like that. This is what I wished PJ would have gone through in MF, but he never did.

Ok, let me search for the drama. Sorry but I don't think k drama is capable of writing such a plot. :(If it's a good drama with JH in it, 114 episode is fine. But if it's WOL that type of drama, out of 114 episodes, I probably only get to watch 14 episodes of JH.

It's 40 mins each episode so around 36 hours total. The first episode was hard for me to follow, they were introducing 19 characters! And I had trouble initially with the faces and names but I was hooked by the 3rd episode. It was actually through Money Flower that I discovered Nirvana in Fire (both have smart/determined leads on a quest for justice; different setting and character relationships though) and I'm so glad I stumbled upon it :)

IKR. Even for me, who grew up watching Taiwan/Hong Kong drama & subsequently China drama, also found it difficult to watch NIF initially due to the number of characters. The only plus point is that I'm kinda "familiar" with the actors/actresses, some of whom I like so it's not so bad watching even though I was confused who acts as who... :phew:

If the Pakistani drama is anything like Indian dramas, than I'm surprised they have any kisses at all! Though, I did hear that the shows produced for Netflix are quite good...

Ok, after waiting eternity for them to kiss, it's not much different from k drama kisses where they glued their lips together & the camera turn around them (making me dizzy).

What I love about Turkish shows is that they delve into their characters... The only problem- the show is very looooooong!  That's the biggest problem with Turkish shows, too many episodes... I would just watch the first 5 episodes and the last 10. The rest are fun, but redundant...

The other day, I just browse through a pakistan drama. OMG, it took so long just to kiss! I actually got bored waiting for them to kiss
