  1. @rubie

     - are you still having issues with Chrome displaying the mobile version of the editor (missing the font, etc, dropdowns?) If so, please shoot me a PM

Aha!  I should have spotted from @rubie's updated post (with the screen image of what the editor button looked like without the photo-shopped labels meant to indicate what was missing) that this was indeed the mobile version that was being delivered. In which case, as with the missing "goto last page " button on tabs or phones when held in vertical, though not horizontal, position, the finger points very definitely at the "responsiveness" part of Invision's code which detects the user's display capacity and adjusts what the user sees accordingly.

However, since I couldn't manage to reproduce the issue even with the same OS and browser version, I still wonder whether it isn't an obscure hardware-related problem, with Chrome for some reason reporting the wrong details about the screen resolution of rubie's hardware to the server.

That's exactly it.  The old posts that are messed up (that I've seen) all consisted of a quote and then my reply.  And now a lot of them are the quoted part, and then...nada.  Everything I wrote is gone, so it just looks like I'm a crazy person who goes around quoting people and not replying. :)  Oh well.  There's only one that I'm kind of upset about because it was a long post and it was right before the move to the temp forums, but I suspect there's no getting it back now.

Also, something completely crazy just happened to me, and I wonder if it's happened to anyone else.  I posted something, and then edited something really minor (punctuation), saved it, and immediately noticed in my edited post that the text of the quote in the middle of my post had moved itself to the bottom of the post (it had been where it was supposed to be in the original post, and the part I edited had nothing to do with the quote).  Not the quote itself -  it was still in place, just empty, but the content in the quote was stuck at the bottom of the post, after my reply.  So I hit edit again, thinking I would have to fix it manually, and then everything went haywire, and it looked like 3 or 4 stacked edit boxes (I should have screencapped it, but I didn't), but the quote text was showing up in the right place again.  So then I closed the tab without saving the second edit, and when I went back to check after reopening the thread, it was okay, like I meant it to be after the first edit.  Weird.

This is the sort of thing  I mean by the Invision editor in its soompi incarnation having serious problems. My experience is that the more editing you do on a post, the more likely it is to suddenly go crazy like this. That means that users who treat soompi like twitter but with more characters notice nothing. Those who do a lot of quoting, back referencing and replying (i.e. discussion, not just disconnected sounding off) eventually hit this sort of craziness. The pain is that it's impossible to reproduce the behavior in any systematic way.

Most of the misbehavior seems to be triggered by editor plugins specific to soompi (or at least not found in the other Invision sites I use).  I am reluctantly concluding that they haven't been sufficiently tested out in real-time soompi use. I personally find I'm spending too much time fighting the editor for posting to be much fun anymore, so when the drama I'm currently following ends tomorrow I'll be giving soompi a rest till these problems get fixed.

  3. I also find the HTML code very handy.  Is there any chance Soompi will bring it back in the near future?

And could some one kindly explain what we can do with the <> feature?  I was checking it out but can quite figure out what it does.

I think the admins have made it very clear that the user-access to the underlying html isn't coming back. Period.  I suspect the <> button was meant to give that access (is does on other Invision sites that I've visited), but s it's been disabled we just get that puzzlingly useless dialogue box.

I'm afraid it won't do just to say that we can't have html access for security reasons, even though I fully understand what those reasons are. The big problem here is: the reason many of us want to access the underlying html is because the Invision editor often messes up its html generation so that we can't post anything like what we planned to post without being able to get down to the html to correct it.

This is especially serious because the html that needs fixing very often  occurs when quoting material and inserting spoilers (and when quoting material that already contains spoilers the outcome is often an even worse mess).. The OP initially reporting the disappearing link problem replied to my original response by adding the crucial detail that this problem was most frequent when trying to add a link to a post which contained quoted material. When I tried doing just that (which I'd never so far done) I hit the same problem too.

For those of us (in a numerical minority I know, but nevertheless...) who treat the drama threads actually as discussion forums and not just a medium for fangirl squeals and squabbles, being able to quote other users (while efficiently editing down their posts to the bit(s) we're actually referring to) and mask off bits of plot info that some members who haven't viewed the episode in question yet wouldn't want to read are absolutely essential. The editing mode of the current soompi incarnation is simply not fit for this purpose.

Time and again I find myself having to cut the posts I want to respond to into a separate editor, trim them down there as I want to, then paste them into the editing window and manually add the handles of the members I'm quoting. Similarly with the spoiler feature. If I want to include in my quotation something the OP put inside a spoiler (while retaining the spoiler within my quoted version) I'm not allowed to do that, because in the editor the quoted spoiler can't be 'uncloaked'  Again I have to cut the OPs' posts into a separate editor, expand the spoiler, trim the post down,  with the spoilered material still visible, then paste the result into the Invision window and re-spoiler the bits that need to be hidden.

By the time I've done all this a few times, I've lost, maybe not the will to live, but certainly a lot of the will to post on soompi.

soompi must be paying Invision handsomely for this system. And Invision probably regards getting a site of the prominence of soompi back from its Vanilla rivals as a major business coup. That should give the soompi administrators sufficient clout to insist that these problems get fixed at  Invision's end.

     @rubie said

I'm using Windows 7 on pc and Google Chrome Version 43.0.2357.81 m .

This gets odder still. I've just installed Win 7 Pro in a fresh virtual machine, installed the exact same version of Chrome into it, come to this forum using that combo and ... All the buttons are there and working

I do indeed see the many and various defects of the Invision editor here too (see my previous post). It took me 10 minutes to get a  half-way readable version of this post into the editor because the quoted material made the editor go completely haywire, but those are bugs in the current Invision version which affect all client platforms.

I really think this is a problem specific to your system. You talked about re-installing Chrome. Did you really do a full clean install (i.e. completely eradicating Chrome from your machine first before installing it again from scratch? Such a full removal isn't as easy as it should be -- if you Google a bit you'll find details on how to do it,. But if you did do a genuine full clean re-install, then this may be a subtle hardware problem which you need to keep an eye on. I very much doubt however if it's something either soompi or Invision could help with.

  4. Are you using a tab or phone,  by any chance?  Because on my laptop, I don't have this issue (there whatever page I go back to, there's always the double-arrowed "go to last" button in the bars at the top and bottom of the page). But on my tab, I have exactly the problem you describe (no way of getting to the last page directly if I'm say, 20 pages from that last one, because the last button doesnt show)  but ONLY if I've got the tab in vertical / portrait orientation. I'f I rotate into horizontal / landscape position and let the page redraw, I get the "last" button.

I reported this a while back in the temporary forum bugs section, and I suspect Invision will be looking at it. I'm pretty sure it's a bug in what's called the "responsiveness" code, which dynamically adjusts the display to suit the size, type and orientation of the device the user is viewing on.

Yeah I was using my phone, it's not available. There is a "go to last" page button (the forward button/double arrows) on a computer at least. Probably just the mobile version since the button is there on a tablet as well. Minor issue, but worth noting. Thank you for adding it to be checked.

I'm just an ordinary user, so I can't myself add this to the list of possible bugs for the soompi admins to pass on to Invision, but I imagine they will do that.

With your phone, did you try turning it horizontal? (you may have to allow your phone to respond to vertical-horizontal rotation automatically if you've locked your display orientation)  I've pestered several friends into letting me try this on their phones, a mix of various Android and Iphone models, and in every case, using landscape orientation made the double-arrow "last" button appear, and tapping it while in that orientation then moving the phone back to vertical orientation allowed access to the current last page.

As for you not seeing the problem on your tab, that rather confirms my hunch that this is to do with Invision's "responsiveness" code which detects, then adjusts to, the pixel width of the current display. That's dependent on the screen resolution of your tab. If you have a retina display Ipad, or a top-of-the-range Android device, then the resolution the tab reports to the server will be high enough for it to "responsively" send a full navigation tab-bar even in vertical position.

Having also tested this in the emulation software I use of checking "responsiveness" of my own sites on a whole range of devices, I'm pretty confident that this is not browser dependent, nor indeed device dependent (except that devices reporting certain screen widths get a defective navigation bar, but that's not because of the device itself, which is "telling the truth" to the server.)  Invision ought to be able to reproduce this without problems, and hence sort out what it is in their code that's causing it.

    [...]

Anyone can help enlighten this if anything else can be done to rectify the situation? It's not really a hopeless case for now if nothing works as there's still Mozilla. Just wondering what really went wrong...

Thank you in advance. @soomp and everyone here.

Could you say what your platform is (device and OS version) and what exact version of Chrome you're using?

I've tried reproducing this on Windows, Android and Linux with the latest versions of Chrome for each platform, and failed. I can't try it on an Apple OS X or IOS device right now. For me, on all the platforms I can try,  Chrome behaves exactly as it does on FF.  That means that even if this was reported to Invision as a bug, they might not be able to reproduce, and hence fix, it. So more specific details of your setup are likely to be needed.

I take it that those rectangular areas labelled Font Style etc where you'd expect buttons don't actually do anything if you click or tap them (i.e. they aren't the right buttons, that have  merely got wrongly labelled/rendered? ) Assuming they are indeed not 'live' buttons at all, then that means that parts of the javascript libraries the Invision system uses aren't functioning properly on your machine.

That could be either down to some hardware issue on your machine, including memory allocation problems, that only Chrome shows up, or to some problem with Chrome itself on your specific combination of hardware and OS.

There's a problem about Chrome that produces exchanges on open source developer sites sometimes even more heated than fan and anti-fan battles on soompi.  Since it's unlikely to interest many readers here, I'll spoiler it below.

Chrome is preferred by many users for its generally superior speed and smoothness. But one  way Google achieves that is held be some people to be contrary to the spirit, though certainly not the letter, of open source development. When Google engineers hit on some feature in the existing browser codebase (the parts that are common to FF, Safari and other browsers, not just specific to Chrome) that they want to optimize, they tend to modify that common code and ship their own modified version of it along with a Chrome update. Since they also supply the full source code to their modifications for anyone who wants to see it, that is fully in keeping with the open source license(s) concerned. But there's a view among some open source developers that in such situations, the programmers originally responsible for the code that Google have modified should be informed and given a chance to build Google's modifications into their own code if they think fit before Google ships the update to Chome. That way, all browsers that use that common codebase would benefit and it wouldn't be necessary to have multiple versions of what are meant to be the same code libraries on every device. But Google's POV is that doing that would severely slow down the update process. There's a lot to be said for both sides...

It's just possible that some component in the version of Chrome for your platform is clashing with another component on your machine that performs the same function for other browsers using the same common codebase. The best suggestion I can come up with for now is to switch to FF for the time being, but monitor Chrome upgrades (they're very frrequent for most platforms) apply them as and when they appear, then see if the latest upgrade removes the problem.

  5. hi @MadraRua! You are able to see your name on the online list, but no one else can see it, and also can't see what you are viewing on your Profile.

You can open an incognito window or another browser not logged in to confirm.

Hello, I just tested the feature and it seems to be partially working on my end. Even with the hide status, it still shows the last visited time, instead of just saying NA or private.

I just checked this myself, and I see that my "last visited time" is now frozen at the date I turned "hide status on", even though have logged in and posted several times since then. So I guess what that value really means is "last time visited with hide status turned off" I tend to agree that it would be better to have this flagged as NA, but for my personal purposes it's good enough, since all I want to prevent is people seeing I'm logged on right now and start PM-ing me with spot translation requests...

However, I also notice that even with "hide status" turned off, my activity is still fully displayed even to a non-logged-in-user. This doesn't matter if I've not posted anything within the last few minutes, but if I have done so, then anyone looking at my profile is able to see that, even though at the top it claims I haven't visited for a week, the list of postings immediately below shows that, and when, and what I've posted since that time right up to the present moment.  So for anyone seriously concerned about privacy in the strict sense, which I'm not, this could be a problem...

  6. I may have written this in the wrong thread but I hoping somebody can help me with this.  I am still having problem viewing any soompi forums on my iphone/ ipad it just crashes when I attempt to open it.  I was wondering if anyone else was having similar problem and will it be soon resolve?

FWIW after seeing this reported in the temporary forums, I tried opening soompi on my son's IPAD when he visited recently and couldn't see any problems (using the stock Safari browser) though I didn't do any intensive testing, beyond bringing up and successfully editing one of my own posts.

This may be a problem that soompi staff need to take up with Invision, but if anyone is going to have a chance of helping you 'll probably need to be a bit more specific. What version of IOS is this, and which browser are you using? If you're using Safari, have you tried Chrome instead? And when you say "it just crashes" what exactly happens?

When you say can't open "it", do you mean you can't even open the main soompi site, or only that you can't enter a soompi forum after successfully bringin up that main site ?  Have you tried to enter the forums site directly using the url forums.soompi.com?

And what precise form does the "crash" take?  Does the site start to load but then the browser crashes, i.e. you are no longer in the browser at all but back on your home screen with the browser no longer running at al?. Or does the browser indicate that the site is loading, but then time out? Does your browser then keep on running, and able to load some other sites, but just not soompi forums?

Without at least this level of information, it's very hard for anyone to even begin troubleshooting your issue, and until you give the soompi team (and through them Invision support) more to go on, you can't expect them to be in a position to indicate a timeframe for a fix.

I usually find it happens in a quoted reply.

Ah, I suspect that may be an important clue.  I too am having quite a lot of problems within quoted replies, but I haven't yet hit one with link insertion in that context, and I'm finding it very difficult to create repeatable instances of the problems I am having within quoted material sufficient to submit a useful bug report.

I had various problems with quote-containing posts in Vanilla too, but there I could click on the "code view" button and fix the (often pretty horrendous) auto-generated html myself. I understand why soompi won't let us view, let alone manually edit, the bare html in Invision, but that does make it very hard to see exactly where the problems lie. In some cases I've had to abandon true quoted replying altogether and instead open up a clean new posting, then "fake" the material I want to quote by cutting and pasting from the OP's,material in another window, then manually insert the quoted user's handle before using the "format as quote"  on the pasted text. This of course is not only fiddly, but means there's no backlink to the original quoted post...

Sorry to end up offering only a "me too" response after all that, but I second your view that there is apparently something amiss in this software specifically where posts containing quoted material are concerned.

Pretty trivial, I know, but the latest item added to the new forums FAQ How do I change the size of my images? is a duplicate of the item "How to resize an image" added the day before that, a few items lower down...

  7. I often find @ tags don't work properly, either with a long delay before the drop down menu appears, or not at all :(

Personally, I'm surprised this feature works as well as it sometimes does on a site as busy as this. From an appliication design point of view, what's termed an "incremental" search against a very large database of usernames where information has to go repeatedly back and forth between your browser and the server, is "expensive" in terms of bandwidth between client and server and processor time at both ends of the connection. Given enough resources available at any given moment (e.g. Google's autocomplete or Naver's dictionary search form) it's no problem. But even though soompi is now a much much bigger beastie than in the early days, it's still inevitably way behind Naver or Google in terms of both bandwidth and processing Ooomph.

Similarly, inserting links often don't work -- basically nothing happens after I add a link and text :(

Your example shows an attempt to link to a dcinside page.  Have you tried making links to any other sites?  DC can be pretty picky about what incoming links it allows. I  haven't tried linking to it from new soompi, but I've had no trouble inserting links to other sites.  By watching the logs on a server I control as I try to insert a link to that server into a soompi page, I notice that the soompi system appears to attempt to resolve the link before it inserts it into a posting for the first time. If it can't resolve the link, e.g. because of a typo in the url or because the targeted site objects to being linked to for some other reason, then indeed nothing happens in the user's browser, unlike the Vanilla version, where an invalid link could be inserted with its accompanying text, even if clicking on it produced an error. I take this to be a feature rather than a bug.

  8.  I'm wondering how to skip to the last page in a thread once you're a few pages back? Otherwise I have to go back to sections and click on the latest page number.

  9. hi @MadraRua! You are able to see your name on the online list, but no one else can see it, and also can't see what you are viewing on your Profile.

You can open an incognito window or another browser not logged in to confirm.

As someone else who very much welcomes this feature, I figured out the feature worked this way by comparing what I saw on a laptop (logged in) and a tab (not logged it at that time).

But I think it might be a good idea if this was pointed out in the documentation for profile settings (or maybe stated in the profile settings form,)  Otherwise I foresee people repeatedly thinking the feature isn't working and sending in unnecessary bug reports.

  10. Please have her contact our support team via email for account related issues: support@soompi.com

It is preferable to use the same email address she registered into our forums for user authentication.

    Thanks!

This may be totally irrelevant to this case, but I noticed something really weird which applies when using a tab with  Android 4.2 and the Google Korean IME. When trying to log in to any site (not just these forums) that requires an email address as ID, if you try to get the @ character by a downward swipe on  the d key (in latin script input mode, of course) you see the @ on screen in the login form, but when you try to do the actual login, you get a "username or password invalid" type of response. You need to forget about the "swipe" facility for that particular character and switch the keyboard display  to the '123' mode, then select the @ from there (second row left) before going back to alpha mode to complete the email ID. Somehow, the Google IME seems to be using the wrong internal encoding for the @ character when it's input via a downswipe-d.  There's just an outside chance that this might lie behind this particular user's difficulties.

  11. Not sure if this is a bug .. but the functions on my toolbar (for posting) have been reduced with several functions missing particularly the font style, font size, color palettespoiler tag etc... those that we had before. Screencapture of situation is enclosed below. Is it just me or everyone's getting this on how things would be at the forum, editing-wise.

This could be a server side problem, but I run sites that use the same editing library, and when users report missing toolbar buttons its generally because they have got a corrupted copy of the javascript code in their cache. Clearing your browser cache generally fixes it. Another test is to try another browser and see if the buttons are missing there (since each browser loads its own version of the javascript independently) . However even if the problem shows in two browsers there's still the possibility that the corrupted javascript is coming from a "transparent" cache your local ISP/company/campus uses to save  bandwidth (and maybe spy on your browsing)..   It can be very different to force such caches to purge their content (Cntl-Shift-reload should do it on Windows, but some caches are deliberately programmed to ignore that command)  but most of them have a timeout that will eventually reload any javascript they have cached.

Also, is it possible to have the 'insert image' button on the toolbar instead at the bottom, above the submit reply button. I know this is just a personal preference but often times mistake of clicking the wrong button happen. Instead of posting an image, the reply button is accidentally clicked. bricks.gif

I've just done exactly the same thing myself, twice, so I know the feeling and second this point. This is a particular problem on a tab or touchschreen PC, but maybe my thumbs are just too big.

I think there are historical reasons why the insert link button doesn't appear on the editor toolbar in Invision as it does in Vanilla, but if the developers are loathe to alter that I think it would be a good idea to shift the "add images" facility to somewhere a lot further from the Submit Reply button. Top of the editing window, just below the toolbar, maybe?

  12. How do we save draft?

Under Invision you can't force a save of work in progress. But everything you type into the editing window is auto-saved at regular intervals. So if for some reason you're called away before you submit a post then come back to continue on the same machine (logging in again if necessary) your input up to the last auto-save will still be there (though you sometimes need to click in the edit window if it initially comes up empty -- I think that may be a bug).

HOWEVER, unlike with Vanilla, the autosave is done to your local browser cache, so that's where the saved material is. With Vanilla, saves, auto or manual, were stored on the server, so you could always retrieve them even if you logged in later using a different browser and/or from a different device.  With this new platform, if you attempt to carry on an auto-saved post from a different device from the one you started it on, the saved material won't be there.

The only way I know round this is to use Google Chrome on all your devices, with Google Synch fully activated. That way your local browser's cached material will be transparently saved also to the cloud, and pulled from the cloud on to any other device that has your Google login. With that setup, draft saves will behave more like the Vanilla way, though you still won't be able to force a save at the exact time you wish and it will only work with Chrome.

  13. [Report from OP about missing "last page" button when viewd on a Nexus, which for some reason the edit mode won't allow me to quote....]

    me too...

I can reproduce this on my tab, too. But only with the device in vertical/portrait mode. If I rotate into horizontal/landscape mode, then the double right-arrow button for the  "last" page appears as it should.

This problem is visible in the stock Android browser, as well as on Chrome and FF for Android.  It can also be seen if you switch FF into "Developer | Responsive Design View" on a desktop machine and specify simulating a phone or tab. I don't have an Ipad to hand, but I suspect it may bite under IOS too.

My hunch is that this is a bug in the "responsiveness" code, either js or css. In any case, it looks like something for the developers' attention.

(For anyone who doesn't know, "responsiveness" is the word misused in the Web design community for what should be called "adaptability". It refers to the way in which a site, as it loads, detects the type and capacity of the target device and adjusts the display accordingly.)

  14. @baduy As long the suspected user doesn't start advertising in public, it is not warranted to give bans yet.

With our rules, it is acceptable to link a website in a signature or via their personal profile.

You may send a report anytime by clicking the corresponding feature located at the top of a post.

Then, our moderation team will be able to investigate the query.

Ah right, sorry I didn't see the "Report post" otherwise I'd have used it.  But the reason I didn't see it is that the "Report post" link is only displayed legibly when your cursor is actually within the post concerned (even having the cursor in the areas left or right of the post causes that link to turn into a pale gray ghost.) Is that really intentional?

What aroused my suspicion wasn't the url as such (though one for an automobile showroom is a bit strange) but the text of the post, which was clearly totally irrelevant to the thread it was posted in, With another hat on, I have to deal with spam bots that scan the target sites and then construct SEO-fodder "posts" which look at first sight to be genuine, and which it's very hard to detect by automatic means. The post concerned looked like one of those to me..

  15. How do we report spam or possible abuse in the new system?

    e.g. http://forums.soompi.com/en/profile/831940-xetoyota_stv/

    looks pretty suspicious.

Only one post so far, but it has nothing to do with the drama concerned, and the user's url is the website of a Toyota dealer in Vietnam.  It does however  have text that looks enough like a typical soompi posting to get past a standard type of spam scanner. Has a spam bot been specifically crafted to target soompi?

  16. I notice that couple of issues with access from mobile devices have persisted in the new site. When I try to access it via Chrome on my S5 running Lollipop 5.0, I can't login because the dropdown login screen doesn't come up, either in the mobile or desktop mode. All that happens is the screen greys out, as in this screenshot:

If I try using Dolphin browser, I can access the login mrnu, but when I try to login, I get this error message:

The Dolphin thing, as you've noticed, isn't specific to soompi. It's down to what Dolphin (and Puffin) does. These browsers are able to show Flash media on more recent  Android  devices where Flash plugins are no longer supported. That makes them a godsend to people who need access to the zillions of Korean sites that still assume everyone is running Flash on IE5, (probably under under pirated Windows XP, as nearly 40% of desktops in S. Korea are estimated to still do). But they do that by proxying the traffic through their own servers, which read the Flash from the target site and transcode it into HTML5 video which newer Androids can handle, before sending it back to the users. But that hits a problem with sites that use seriously secure login methods, generally via encrypted exchanges with separate authentication servers.  The authentication server sees the Dolphin or Puffin proxy server as a "man-in-the-middle" attacker because it (correctly enough) detects that the proxy isn't the brower that originated the request and isn't passing the right authentication tokens.  Hence no authorization by the login server, and no authentication cookie which is needed to access the main site.  There's nothing soompi or Invision can do about this (short of reverting to seriously insecure login procedures.)

As for the other issue, I can't reproduce it myself, but then I'm still on Android 4. But that "grayout' normally happens when a web page has put up a modal dialogue (i.e. one that the user has to deal with before being able to interact with the main page) but that modal dialogue isn't actually displayed on any part of the screen the user can access because of a rendering error of some kind. That creates deadlock, because you can't even see the thing you have to interact with before you can get rid of the gray overlay and access the main page itself.  This could be because there's something in the Invision css that's causing the problem, but since you are seeing it only on Chrome it might be worth while reporting this to a Chrome for android user site as well.

  17. Still not been able to watch ep 19, but here finally is the text preview for ep 20

At the General Meeting of stockholders, Ji Hoo presents the evidence that Soo Ho made illegal payments, and succeeds in  having him dismissed as President.

Seo Hyeon gives back everything she'd received by her deception and returns to her proper place. Do Yeong and Jeong Soo embark on the road to forgiving her.

Meanwhile, Soo Ho learns that Jeong Soo is his biological daughter...

  18. At last we have a text preview for ep 19. Another one where there's not much overlap with the video preview, except that it does suggest that the business with a wedding hall was a visual red herring, because in conjunction with what the text preview says it looks like JS had booked her launch at a wedding hotel, only to discover that Seo Hyeon has somehow managed to organize a double booking which means Jeon Soo can't use the venue.

Seo Hyeon's sabotage triggers a crisis which prevents Jeong Soo holding her launching show, but she succeeds in organizing a flash mob outside the Alberto launching venue which directs the public to her pop-up store.

Concerned about the sluggish sales performance of Alberto Korea, Seo Hyeon asks Soo Ho to help her out by manipulating the sales volume statistics.

Meanwhile, Jin Hoo uncovers evidence that Soo Ho has been paying illegal bribes and he summons an emergency Board meeting.

  19. I for one won't be able to do any spoiling tomorrow, because I'll be driving all the time the live stream is airing. Unless I can think of an extraordinarily good reason for persuading my wife we need to take a  rest-break somewhere with a good free w-fi link while I "catch up with my emails" and pretend I've got so many coming in that it takes 70 mins to read them...  Ain't gonna work. She'd soon see that I was really "ogling Korean women" which is her somewhat unkind term for my drama viewing activities.

  20. I do wish she'd twiddle her thumb down to that spacebar button. If only because those of her fans who rely on Mr Google Translate would be in with a chance (he gives up if there aren't any spaces between words, even though Korean can be written -- and read -- without spaces if you really wish).

    But anyway, it means:

Her Legend .... There were a lot of really tough moments, but that only made me truly love the work all the more. Even today, I'm off to a location to nail down some final shots.

  21. Eun Jin's tweets as posted above by StaRix:

    1)
The Shinwa Group's elite design team! Ara, So Yeong, Jin Kyeong, after shooting all night till the crack of dawn, hoping you'll give us lots of support, calling out goodnight! and sleep well everyone.

    2)
In the very last shooting session for Her Legend I had my first scene with Kim Hye Son, and took this pic to mark the occasion!

    3)
The whole production team of Her Legend certainly worked really hard these past weeks. But now it's goodbye to Design Team Manager Goo So Yeong. Thanks to everyone for your support. Starting tomorrow, I begin my new life as Eto Haru.

[Eto Haru is indeed the name of the main female character in the Japanese novel on which Alone in Love was based, so that confirms that the stage play concerned is indeed another adaptation of that novel.]

  22. I still can't get the preview to play smoothly, but I think now there are at least two separate dirty tricks going on. One seems to be about the hire of a wedding hall.  That's not a phone number at the bottom of the slip of paper Ara is holding, as I thought on first viewing: it's an address in Gangnam, and above it it says in Konglish "White Wedding" which sounds like the name of a weddings venue. It looks as though the paper may be a memo about a telephone message left for JS at Shinwha, maybe in response to someone giving that as her contact number while making a fake reservation. The man JS is speaking to in some puzzlement at the wedding hall seems to be talking about the 수가 ( 酬價) or fee for the ceremony already having been paid. And listening again to the tone of voice, I think Ara may indeed by talking to JS, but actually tipping her off about some monkey business concerning KH hiring a wedding hall in her name.  The phone call (taken intially by KM with the info the being passed on to JH and the others) about the bags having been delivered to the wrong place may be a quite different incident, though almost certainly KH will be behind that too.

  23. Ah, things are happening at last on the jtbc site. The ep 18 outdated 'preview' text has been replaced by text reading "Ep 19 Preview" -- but nothing more. And there's a video preview there now -- except  that I can't get it to play. Nothing at all, not even the revolving "video buffering" circle, happens when I click it. But it's progress, of sorts.
