What, so expressing a non-romantic interest in a member of the opposite sex isn't allowed if one is in a relationship? That's fairly idiotic thinking, if you ask me; only silly, immature females are prone to such pettiness. There are plenty of reasons to believe that Liu Wen and Siwon aren't a couple, but him following Claudia this or Crystal that on IG isn't one of them.
And it's frankly beyond me as to what passes for beauty in Korea - big, doll-like eyes, pasty, powdered skin, everyone looking like BB-creamed nymphets...yuck! I can't imagine how any man could find that sort of look sexually appealing. Females like Liu Wen with obviously ethnic features (and who aren't ashamed of it as so many Asians seem to be) and who radiate confidence, attractiveness, and a good attitude possess infinitely more womanly appeal than all these faux little girls, IMHO.

I find it interesting that the story assiduously avoids mentioning Siwon, and that it suggests Liu Wen's stint on LFIL was nothing more than a professional experience. If that's indeed all it was, how does one explain the following?
"However, now I understand, in love, what is actually more is understanding and forebearance. Through the test of time, two people will undergo certain adjustments, changing oneself for the other person. An absolute love at first sight scenario does not seem to be possible - after all, both of them comes from different families. No matter what, I feel that love is undoubtedly wonderful, something that every woman longs for."
Um, if they were just acting on the show, how on earth did she learn anything about love from doing it? They can't have been faking it the whole way through and she must've had authentic feelings for Siwon at some point for her to have said what I quoted above. And yet the rest of the article makes it sound like LFIL was nothing but a professional challenge for Liu Wen...honey, you ain't fooling anybody! I suppose you getting borderline hysterical in the last episode was just a performance for the cameras, too, eh? I think she's probably embarrassed that we saw her in such a state and that she fell for the 'premise' of the show hook, line and sinker, so now she's backtracking and claiming that the whole thing was just a job for her. I don't believe that for one second - the relationship may have eventually fizzled out, but it had to have been real at least while the show was ongoing, and Ms. Liu undoubtedly developed some form of love for her co-star despite what she now says.

Yeah, interesting comment from Mr. BG...what's he saying, that he wants to have not one but two cups of tea with Liu Wen in response to her invitation? I much prefer your interpretation, liddi.
I'm probably reading too much into it, but I also think that Liu Wen's inclusion of a smiley face after "A peaceful day" is just a tiny bit suspect. What's she doing, having a laugh at us?
Like, we're all getting worked up online while it's peaceful over where she is possibly with a certain someone?

Nah, she's flown somewhere...every time she's posted a pic in a plane with the corresponding emoticon on IG (and that's often with her schedule!), it's turned out that she really has travelled to some destination or the other. I don't see why this time should be any different.

Well, it could be that she's now a 'name' model and doesn't have to walk in every show her agency puts her up for. In the later portions of their careers, supermodels like Bundchen & Moss only walked in shows if specifically requested by a big brand or designer, so I'd imagine LW is now in a similar position. After all, she's been in the business for a long time now, and it would be a bit unseemly if she were walking in practically every show like she was when she first burst onto the scene. It may look very glamorous to be up there strutting your stuff, but waiting around for hours during fittings and such (sometimes into the wee hours of the night) is NOT fun especially if you've been doing it for years. It's too much of a sacrifice for just a few minutes in the spotlight, if you ask me.
So, perhaps LW is now choosing to focus on projects closer to home because they're more lucrative or mean more to her. Of course, this quote from the latest ELLE story: "To put it harshly, the new will push out the old..." is in reference to her modelling career, and it is true that fashion is a very fickle business that's ever ready to move on to the newest hot young thing. The upcoming singing gig could therefore have been taken out of necessity or having nothing else to do rather than by choice. LW is in the older age bracket for models so I doubt she'd be at it for many more years now which is why we all want Mr. Choi to marry her and rescue her from the cesspit that is the modelling world (and the limbo that looms afterwards) when the time is right.
As for the bunny and SW's no-show on Feb. 2nd...disappointing, I suppose, but not entirely unexpected. I actually don't mind that we've heard nothing from him on her birthday as I look at it this way: even if LW were just a friend or co-worker, SW is the type who would've wished her HBD online, so the fact that we've heard nothing from him at all likely indicates that there is perhaps more than just a friendship between the two and whatever wishes, greetings or gift-giving would've all been done in private.

Well, the H&M BTSes were shot back in, what, September? Matters could have transpired since then which caused them to rethink the parameters of their relationship...who knows? I've no proof, but I have a feeling (I know I'm not the only one) that the last trip to Seoul (that we know of) didn't go exactly as LW wanted. Just the tone of her messages at the time were somewhat downbeat...all I know is that recent media coverage makes it clear that she's single. Maybe I'm missing nuances which are lost in translation, but if I wasn't really single and just pretending to be, I wouldn't have articulated some things the way LW has (as translated).
One positive sign is that recent '16' post of LW's...let's hope that wasn't just PR for the H&M campaign.
And a birthday post...well, I was expecting that since we've always had one whether it was by LW herself or her management. So, she's back in China...and I did pick up on that "HBD again" from Mr. BG too...he did not wish her HBD previously online, so wishes must've been conveyed via some other avenue. I think there's a good chance that they did meet up in NYC, and if SW really is born in the Year of the Rabbit (someone confirm this, stat!
), the sudden influx of toy rabbits makes perfect sense. I mean, why rabbits and not pandas or dogs or cats? I take it that SW's the Rabbit and LW's the Piglet (see SW's last IG post) - she can't very well be the Dragon because that's just not a very romantic way to think of one's girlfriend. Now that Mr. BG's tipped his hand, someone else has got to do it too...come on, Jiwon or Keenie or anybody...I see that Ming Xi has already added her wishes, but who cares about her!

Well, happy birthday to a true sweetheart...definitely the nicest and most personable supermodel out there. I don't use the term lightly, but she really does seem to fit the very definition of a 'good girl', and how refreshing it is to have a real role model young girls can look up to instead of the trash that we're surrounded with these days. I can't help but remember that interview Siwon did immediately after filming on LFIL had ended in which he harped on how genuinely good-hearted Liu Wen is, and if they truly are a couple, I bet he knows how lucky he is.
As for the translation of the latest ELLE cover story (thanks, liddi!), well, it doesn't sound very hopeful on the shipper front, does it? Taken at face value, the article does present Liu Wen as being unequivocally single - I notice in earlier translations that the subject of Siwon or her love life would often be skirted around, but now the articles are much more upfront about her singlehood. Maybe the relationship really is on hold until Siwon finishes his service...Jiwon, Siwon, Keenie...post something today to prove me wrong, dammit!

, but running that link through Google Translate seems to yield the rumor that Siwon (!) might be the surprise guest. An impossibility, one would think, what with him being currently secluded in the police force and all, but could he have perhaps filmed his (or their) segment back when he was able to? Or maybe he'll appear live via video link or something? It could even be that Liu Wen will finally share with us that ever elusive Wen Li footage from Seoul. The whole thing sounds like a pipe dream, I know, especially since Liu Wen has now made it official that she's 'single', but ahh, it's fun to speculate, ain't it? I also see that Liu Wen has made it onto Estee Lauder's official IG with one of their executives even posting #LW4EL...our pressuring them worked this time, so let's popularize that hashtag and continue working it for Liu Wen, gurls!

So, Liu Wen will be in China soon...in this month alone, she's been to Bali, London, Mexico, NYC...that's at least three separate continents...she's the most well-travelled top model primarily because she straddles both East and West...no wonder Siwon worries as to who will check up on her once he's gone, and that's probably why Mr. BG has been so solicitous of her online since the enlistment. I wouldn't be surprised if Jiwon does the same through phone, too.

So, she's in NYC...hmm...all signs were pointing to her being in China. I hope the poor dear won't be spending her birthday so far away from home and in this bitter cold, but I guess it makes sense that she would be in the West at this time with the fashion season kicking into gear.

So, Liu Wen will be in the East during the CNY period for the first time in six years...I'd hope for a meeting between our two lovebirds but Siwon seems very preoccupied with his duties these days...even his IG hasn't been updated in ages...no time for romance within the next two years, I guess?

Still, it's nice to see that she probably doesn't give a toss about the haters exploding out of their seats. Well, of course not during his army training, not then. He probably can't leave the country in the next two years even if he wanted to. However, there were many months between the end of filming LFIL and his enlistment in which Siwon might have been able to visit Liu Wen but didn't. Of course, it's harder for him to visit her than the other way around as he has more considerations to take into account, but Liu Wen may have thought, if you love me enough, you'd jolly well go, to hell with those considerations!
Now, all this is purely speculation as we have no concrete evidence as to how they feel about anything, really. There have been hints, though, hints that Liu Wen was waiting for Siwon to come to her rather than her to him - the first was in the airport scene when she said something to the effect of "I'll be waiting for you" (as in I'll be waiting for you to come see me in NY), and then of course we have the recent campaign vid in which Liu Wen asked Siwon if he wants to come to China. Siwon, on the other hand, appears to want Liu Wen to come visit him more often in Seoul - it wouldn't surprise me that he feels this way as he did display a sense of entitlement which I didn't particularly appreciate (I doubt Liu Wen did either) in the CoTC.
And I've no idea what constitutes traditional Asian thinking, but to me it makes perfect sense that one partner should not have to do all the work; it is only fair if both put effort into making the relationship work.

Assuming it isn't all PR double-speak, this Q&A is rather interesting. "This year, Liu Wen visited me quite a lot in Seoul"? We know of only four instances in which she was there, so perhaps there were other undercover visits as well? And he wants her to visit more often, which I sense is a stickling point with him, that she make herself more available; I think he wouldn't mind if Liu Wen were to move to Seoul entirely!
On the other hand, she asked if he would like to visit her in China in the promo vid, so maybe she wants him to make some effort too by visiting her instead?

Hmm...so the campaign is obviously predicated on the idea that they're a couple...if it turns out they're not, the fans are going to be pissed, and understandably so. Of course, they could always turn around and say, well, we did issue those statements, so don't blame us if you guys allowed yourselves to be misled
. I have to believe that they wouldn't be comfortable with being sold as a couple if they aren't one, though...I mean, we're talking about a really large-scale campaign here...their 'togetherness' is being plastered all over the East...surely they'd feel bad about that if there's nothing between them? I guess it depends on the kind of people they are...if they see this as nothing more than a working opportunity, a collaboration (just like their stint on the show), then they wouldn't concern themselves with much else.
I'm reminded of the olden days in Hollywood when screen couples (frequently teen idols) would be paired up in film after film because of the popularity of those collaborations. Usually, the relationship between the couple would be nothing but platonic, but the PR machine and they themselves would play up the idea that they were a real couple because that's what the masses wanted to hear. I sincerely hope that this isn't the case with SW and LW...

Well, I go where the wind blows, really. I think it says a lot that most of us don't buy what you'd think would be the definitive statement on this whole affair, that is the one issued by LW's management which unequivocally claims that she's single and that she and SW were just professional partners. It just goes to show that the evidence on hand (LW's appearances on that variety show and at the ELLE event, etc.) is so inconsistent with those claims that even such a 'be all, end all' statement can't dissuade us from believing that they really are a couple.
And of course LW's recent '16' post may be the strongest piece of evidence yet - why on earth would she make a patently obvious reference to the relationship, to the belief that she and SW are boyfriend and girlfriend, if there's truly nothing between them? It could only be she wants to reassure us that, no, there is in fact a relationship and it is indeed very much alive. The only other reason I can think of why she'd post that is because the launch date of the H&M campaign is nearing and it behooves her to have us think that those pretty people with their arms around each other on the billboards really are together. However, we've never had the slightest indication that she'd behave so unscrupulously (quite the contrary, in fact), so the notion that she's making '16' references because they're honestly a couple is much easier to swallow.

What a wonderful sign that she keeps in touch with the manager - if there's truly nothing between her and Siwon, I find it hard to believe that she'd maintain relations with his staff. I recall that that lady always looked very kindly with Liu Wen; she's probably a shipper and does her best to coordinate things between the two.
And yes, how lovingly and carefully packaged is that gift, but then we've always known that our girl is a very thoughtful and considerate young lady. Those presents she gave Jiwon are fine and were obviously chosen with great care, too. I also read that when Liu Wen scored the Estee Lauder contract, she sent a personally written thank-you note to Aerin Lauder who was very touched by the gesture.
And you can bet the siblings have or will be getting packages, too; theirs will be nothing like the manager's, though, with the brother's bundle of love being understandably extra special.
Now we can only hope that Keenie lets something slip when Liu Wen receives an even grander gift from the Seoul police force on her birthday. Ooh, and more likes from Jiwon and Mr. BG for Liu Wen's latest adorable update...our ship keeps chugging right along, folks!

...she gets so girlishly shy when he compliments her and girls only get like that with guys they like which is why we can't believe that they're anything but together! I've seen many vids of Liu Wen over the years, and not once have I ever seen her behave around anyone else like she does with Siwon.
And I love that she posted the 16 pic as a sign of affirmation yesterday. It's like she's aware that the campaign will be released soon, she's seen the BTS and she knows that billboards of them are being plastered all over Asia, so despite the recent statement from Ms. Ren, she wants to reassure us that, don't worry, they're still going strong.
I'm also looking forward to the 27th as much as I am the 21st...Siwon strikes me as the type who'd want to gift his girlfriend the moon on her birthday, and considering that this is her first birthday as a girlfriend
and how moved Siwon was by how they celebrated his birthday last April (didn't he post something like "Just thank you for everything" that we all know was meant for Liu Wen?), the 27th is gonna be big. Let's just hope that SW, LW or anyone close to them will drop more than just a hint about it online.

Now, I have been guilty of doubting them which is frankly quite understandable when there's hardly any news these days, very little of it good. But when I stop to think about it, I remember that people like Liu Wen's friends are involved, people like Siwon's dad (and maybe even his sister and friend although we didn't actually see them on the show) are aware of this 'romance' and certainly appear to be treating it as such (that we know of) - could it be that all these people are in on the charade and have actively participated in this whole endeavor of convincing an audience that Liu Wen and Siwon are a real couple when they actually aren't? The answer to that question could only be a big fat NO, couldn't it?
So, they definitely are a real couple or at least they were while they were filming the show. Now, have we received any indication that they have broken up since then? Aside from the two 'single' statements, on the contrary, as there has been plenty of evidence to show that they are still an item. The statements may seem to be definitive declarations on the status of the relationship, but they are explainable, and quite frankly, the evidence is so strong that the validity of those statements is thrown into question, so for now I'm choosing to believe that Liu Wen and Siwon are still very much a couple.

Thanks for uploading the vid with in-sync subtitles, jusrub! They're just so freaking cute and adorable!
The part where Liu Wen complimented Siwon and then looked at the camera as if to ask "Did I do good?" with Siwon then feeling the need to compliment her too had me !
The most revealing bit to me was when Liu Wen said to Siwon "Then you need to be happy, too"...definitely something behind that which we aren't privy to. It's like Ms. Happy-All-The-Time, the Sunshine Girl, well, she wants her boyfie to be happy just like her, but how can he be when he's got the impending enlistment, the girl wants to keep things hush-hush and take things slow, so much so that he had to announce he's single the day before, and she doesn't want to just move to Seoul to keep him company?
Poor Siwon, no wonder he looks just a little bit bummed and like he's got a lot on his mind in this video...don't you worry, Mr. Choi, girls like Liu Wen are worth going the extra mile for! -

Oh yeah, definitely a couple at the time of filming that BTS...observe the comfort level between the two, the girlishness on display that's only elicited when you're with a cute guy you dig (ladies, you know what I'm talking about!), the hee hee ha ha and kawaii factors which are readily present when two young people in love are together...I'm swooning here, girls!
And yes, Mr. BG, what are you getting at with "You seem so happy Liu Wen"? Didn't you watch the freaking show, you dolt?
She's a happy person! What, you expect her to go to pieces just because there aren't any policemen around to guide her during heavy traffic?
