Aaww.. It's good to see LSG and OYS sat next to each other at wrap up party :wub:

but why were there no photos of Cha Seung Won, Lee El, ONE, and even Sec HanJoo? I didn't see General Frost too. Weren't they not coming?

It seems that CSW, LE and ONE weren't there but "Han Joo", "General Frost" and even "Jonathan" made it :)

  2. I refuse to analyze the last episode because, frankly, there is no way anyone could make sense of this mess. I’m afraid my brain could explode from trying.

In the last few episodes, the Hong Sisters pretty much threw logic completely out of the window so at this point they could have Jesus snowboarding down a rainbow and I wouldn’t question any of it, as long as the OTP finally got the happiness they deserve. There were so many ways to end it but they gave us that unsatisfying open ending?!

  3. Final thoughts before the last episode:

SM never had the power to defeat the dragon on her own - it wasn’t her purpose, she never was another Buffy, the slayer - she helped people, understood them, protected them just like her umbrella protected her. She has always been the shield that protected others and stood in the monters’ way. It was Oh Gong who always killed the demons; he has always been the warrior in their monster-busting team and it makes complete sense that it would be like that even with their final mission. It doesn’t mean that SM is the weaker one it’s just that their powers are different and because of that they complete each other.

OG would have never used the sword if there were a chance to protect SM from the dragon and more importantly, he would never use it as long SM were alive that’s why he hid it in his garden where no one could find it. And that sword was the only thing that could kill the dragon. Obviously, there are still some missing pieces of information, and as always the devil is in the tiny details - for instance, what exactly did the Patriarch tell to SM? However, we can deduce that SM must have known about how OG needs kill the dragon in her body considering she was prepared to take it in. However, when that plan fails and OG comes she sends him after te dragon because she knows how powerful he is and knows that if anyone can defeat the beast it’s him - the heartwrenching thing is that she thinks that OG can’t refuse because of the GGG, completely unaware that he is doing it because he loves her. However, that fate has changed now. And this whole drama has been about fighting and changing one’s preordained fate, even if it might seem futile. As I mentioned, their fate has already changed so much - OG AND SM HAS DEFEATED THE DEATH BELL FATE - she didn’t get killed by OG not did she kill him - THAT’S SO IMPORTANT. And their journey still hasn’t come to the end - it just takes more time to the happy ending than just that. And remember this, what we’ve learned about SB and the gods so far is that they are lying liars who lie.

People often mention how the gods in Hwayugi are unfair, evil and petty and that SM doesn’t deserve none of what happened to her but isn’t that the perfect analogy for real life ? LIFE IS UNFAIR! The innocent die, people and children don’t deserve to die from terrible illnesses, be killed or hurt. All people can do is to barrell through and fight against fate, fight to survive; even if it’s futile in the end. The strongest messages of this show and one that has been there from the very beginning is to live your life to the fullest. Why do people constantly pray to various gods even if it ends up being futile in most cases - BECAUSE THEY HOPE - and hope isn’t something that is logical - it can not be extinguished easily. Maybe it’s fitting then that’s OG’s power is fire, that he is a fire that can’t be extinguished and he triumphs in the end over the dragon, over his fate and just maybe the last enemy he might defeat will be death.

  4. That moment when Seon Mi realizes that not even all the gods in Heaven could stop Oh Gong from coming to her rescue and risking his life for her!

    MGT7XXO.jpg

It’s such a heartwrenching moment that SM died but after all she has been through and the lonely, unprotected life she lead, thinking that she would die alone and unloved, untouched, it’s comforting that she died being protected, loved, cherished and mourned for by a god and a man who loved her so much that he saved the world for her even after she was gone from it and his heart shattered to million pieces. In episode 4, OG promised SM that he would protect her even if the world fell apart, the world is falling apart around them right now and he is still there holding her in his arms, calling her name like a spell that could keep Death at bay.

You can pinpoint the exact moment OG realizes SM is going to die and he can’t do anything to save her; the hopeless, desperate look when he realizes that for all his strength he’s powerless to prevent it. So he takes her away to a beautiful place, he takes her home because he can’t bear for her to die in such a terrible, evil place; it’s heartwrenching that he has to watch her die in the very place where they hoped to live happily after together.

    YMIy7H8.jpg

The way they mirror each other’s touch!!!

And as he is holding her in his arms while the life is leaving her body, Oh Gong becomes the most hopeless person in the entire universe because he can’t tell SM that his love for her has always been real because that would destroy her and break her heart so he shatters his own instead. That’s the tragedy of the Great Sage and his greatest defeat as he has to watch as the only woman he has ever loved dies in his arms; and all that’s left to him is to cling to her lifeless body; her blood still on his cheek.

Moral of the story ?

 LOL but they killed her off so fast that she probably didn't have the opportunity to get pregnant. I get this is only fun. However, let's seriously contemplate it for a moment (this is purely hypothetical and absolutely NOT something that happened but I really love this heartwrenching, dark stuff and it would be truly awesome set up in the case the story was much more darker than it originally is) - if SM really got pregnant then that would change her death completely. It was already so tragic but imagine OG's heartbreak if he learned that not only did he lost the love of his life but also his child? Imagine his self-blame that he couldn't protect them? Imagine SM's immense self-blame for unwittingly getting their child killed?

I'm sorry I just got carried away since I'm a huge fan of angsty, dark love stories and today's episode is basically all my fantasies come true.
