    Ok. I had a tiring day today, but since you guys gave me another 500% energy- battery again, I decided to post here. :thumbsup:

So I am just sharing the warm welcome they (our sunbaenims) showered upon me. :wink: Good thing that you guys liked my metaphor.     @st4rdust, I think we are now experiencing the SLS (Second- Lead Syndrome). :joy: I watched lots of dramas that made me feel that syndrome. We should help each other because the withdrawal method is kinda hard and unsatisfying. :smirk:

    @joyezz, I actually made a wrong decision. I watched WR first and then LDV. :sweat_smile: I was laughing at WR, then that sudden genre switch was kinda a culture shock to me. Keke. But I managed to finish it. :lol:

    As to LDV have you already finished it? But have you appreciated LDW's acting in it? I can't remember how many times I have cried. It has depth, it has inner conflict, it has personal disorder, it has sins, it has innocence. Both characters are controversial and multi layered. And I can understand their suicides even though I still blame them for doing that. 

    My wish. I want Wookie to play some sort of character Ji Sung has played in KLHM, but smth new an fresh lol.

     

     

    @Princi_86, sorry to cut your post chinggu. Yes, I finished LDV and I managed to breathe at the end of the series. I appreciated LDW there. Whenever he appears, I just can't help but to be awed because of his handsomeness. :love: There was this moment where LJS was falling, and I expected him to disappear suddenly, because he is the GR. :joy: But then, I just thought that because I really didn't want to be succumb by the tragic ending I faced. On the bright side, his disappearance closed open wounds and made new lives to other people. :thumbsup:  

    I highlighted lines from your post. EXACTLY. There were parallelism with LJS and WY here (setting aside the era they were alive). Both of them were broken, so broken a tinge of sadness makes them lose their reasoning at some point. Yes, controversial, because they had lots of things going on in their life: LJS being eaten with his grudge, guilt and conscience towards KSG and HDW ~ WY feeling betrayed by his people and feeling powerless at the end.

    AND YES, I WANT HIM TO PLAY SOMETHING LIKE KMHM. But I would really love to see him with that blonde hairdo. You know, like, when he is human, he is blonde, and when he's supernatural, his hair will turn deadly black.

    @selenette, it's ok unnie. I understand you. :smile: Its a good thing that you managed to stop that thought unnie. I mean, probably, for me, I was brought up being positive (not too much of course) to life. I am still young and I know I still got to experience the worst case scenarios. I lived with the mottos, "No Pain, No Gain" and "Learn to move on, and love yourself." 

    In LDV, LJS still had the chance. He can move on, but he won't. Many people loved him, yet he chose to kill himself. All I can say is that, LJS didn't think that he is the source of strength to some people around him. Maybe, he thought about it, but he divulged himself with guilt~ thinking that he doesn't deserve to be like that someone. 

    For WY case, yes, he had no one (that's what he thought). That evil eunuch blinded him totally. I understand why he chose to diminish his own life. He is so broken, a soft wind might make him turn into a powder. IF ONLY, he listened to one of the Kim siblings, and decided to use his power over that evil eunuch (he is the king anyway). . . IF ONLY.

    It's a good thing that he became a GR this time, because this just means that he is given another chance (IMO). :smiley:

    I saw you talking about ships and couples. Scent of woman was my first Wookie drama after My girl in almost 10 years. Romance in the drama were so real that i thought they were really in love with each other and shipped them real hard. I wanted to check his other dramas and then i came across Hotel King and realized that Wookie has a brilliant chemistry with all his leading actresses. So i shipped him with everyone, even with myself. Haha joke

    Roommate and Hotel King are basically what made me fall for Wookie.

    Yes. It was one of those melodramas with so heavy and thick plots. It woke up the 'writer- soul' in me, but then, I decided not to write my POV because in the first place, I don't know where to write it. :joy:

    I just couldn't accept the fact that LDW's character CHOSE to kill himself there, when in fact, every life, no matter how grave your sin(s) was (were), is given a chance to be redeemed. I guess, this was one of the reasons why he became the GR. :joy:

    It's good to read different (not so different :lol: ) POV's here about LDW and his current project. I have to agree that GR/ WangSun screen time is too oppressed compared to the main lead. But there is one thing that makes this a bright side: every screen time of GR/ WangSun couple is like a firework you've been waiting on a New Year's Eve. You greatly anticipate for it. You are excited for it to happen; and when it happens, you are always left either stunned or will anticipate for more.

    I don't mean to offend anyone, but when it comes to the main lead, when its their time on the screen, its like, we already know what will happen, we are not expecting too much already (but still, it makes an impact). We still expect though, but there is not much complexity to the main lead now. Compared to WangSun, especially GR, we have lots of questions like, "What will happen to WY since he is a Grim Reaper?" "Will he become human? Ottoke?" "What will happen to them, how did that happen?" etc.. 

    Omaygash. I can't explain myself clearly. :cry:

    Ok. Back to LDW. I have to be honest that I ignored LDW back then. I just noticed that he is tall and handsome, especially when he appeared in RM for the first time. I began being intrigued by him when he guessed there that second time and was paired up with my girl crush, SJH. They were sweet and oh- so good looking. I began searching for him (of course, images were prioritized :joy:). I then had a crush on him already. Time didn't let me continue my fangirling over him because at that time, I had so many things to do in and outside the school. So, he vanished inside my head for a while. And then, before my review for my licensure examination,  I read this news about an upcoming series: Goblin. And to my surprise, LDW was there, YSJ was there, and GY was there! All my crushes in one serious series! DAEBAK. So, what I did was I focused on my review, passed the examination, and finally, had the time to relax. By that time, Goblin wasn't airing yet, so I managed to watch other KDramas. Then when it was already airing, I managed to focus on LDW past projects. :love::heart: 

    Anyways again, :grin:, @winterdew, I'm from Philippines. I really hope that one day, we can all get together, and our surprise host will be LDW. I guess I'll faint when that happens. :sweat_smile:

    So I was sitting down on our sofa the other day. I was lurking around FB and saw this post from my friend. It was the video of Blond LDW's BTS of his photoshoot. Obviously, I clicked and watched it. I didn't notice that I was already giggling whilst watching the video. I even didn't notice my nieces presence. When suddenly, I heard one of them shouted: "Grandma! Auntie is smiling like crazy!" 

    I looked at them and saw them smiling at me. I said: "What? Look!" I showed to them the video. "Isn't he handsome?" I asked them and then giggled again. 

    Then my other niece ran towards my mom and began pulling her whilst saying, "Grandma! Auntie has a crush! Auntie has a crush!" 

    Felt like I was a suspect back there. :joy: Well, I also showed the video to my mom and teased me saying that I should go to S. Korea then. My nieces also agreed that LDW oppa, indeed, is so handsome. They even asked me, "Is he your boyfriend, auntie?" And I nodded. :innocent::smirk:

We will back you up. :wink: I binge- watching My Girl- Hotel King- Partner and then Scent of a Woman last week before Goblin's episode 11. I paused from binge- watching his series and watched Supergirl for the mean time. Tonight, I will start Wild Romance and so on and so forth. I might end being LDW himself. :joy: I am looking forward to Fugitive of Joseon because my girl crush Song Ji Hyo is there. :heart: Imagine, your two crushes together. I always laugh at DH the cc-loving goofball. What's impressive was that in that scene in the bar, he was seating whilst the two were standing but he just radiates authority. He was acting alongside GY and LDW and his screen presence was really great. I can't help when I watched that scene but to say, "Yeah, it's Deok Hwa Time!" He was so cool! :glasses:

     

    @jellybellymonster, I first watched YSJ in Who Are You 2015 and the moment I saw him, I loved him immediately. And then after that, The Village, Reply 1994 and Plus Nine Boys. He's one of those KPop Idols whose acting is superb,you wouldn't notice that he is a KPop Idol, instead, see him as an actor. :blush:

    @winterdew, I think its really a show from the Philippines. It was a noon time show here back then. We are on the same boat. I wonder how our chinggus here manage theirselves when they saw LDW. Wait, they already saw LDW personally? OMG. I'm jelly- jelly here! :bawling: If I'll be reincarnated in the next life, I want to be LDW's. . . .  :blush:

    To develop into a classic actor (instead of resting just on popularity), KSH takes up new challenges with grit and chose work that doesn't stereotyped him into a certain genre or pretty character.  Good performance is more than just good looks and good story line.  It is about the ability to connect with your audience and make them believe the character you are portraying and whatever the character is going through. 

    As I'm new here, appreciate very much the 2016  recaps!  Cheers and Happy New Year!

     

    @klky007, hello there chinggu! How have you been? Indeed, KSH is one of those versatile and flexible actors in S. Korea. He's someone who is very hard to forget because he makes a great impression. I was once like you. MLFTS was the first KDrama that made me watch more (of his) KDramas afterwards. When I was a kid, I was able to watch some KDramas, but back then, I wasn't that interested. Now, thanks to MLFTS, I watched almost a hundred KDramas (still a long way to go). And yes, I will admit that after MLFTS, I immediately watched KSH's other projects, even his interviews and variety shows appearances. My withdrawal syndrome back then took quite a while. :sweat_smile:

    Anyways, we will see him soon. So hang in there my chinggu! :grin:

    I happened to be watching a very old interview clip of Wookie on a Philippines talk show, where he was asked about his decision to star in Arang (if I'm not wrong), since it was rather different from his role in My Girl. He said he wanted to show a different side to him. Fast forward around 10 years, he's asked about his choice to take up the role of the Grim Reaper in his latest interview for V-app. He says, "Everyone got to see something different, a new side of me." His motivation for choosing and taking up new roles back when he had his first hit drama is the same as that of now, a decade on, when he has successful titles to his name and many years of acting experience under his belt. That speaks so much about his unwavering passion and commitment towards acting, especially in an industry that seems to give more recognition to actors who play it safe and stick to typical roles.

    I just saw this post in the internet (I'll assume that she might also be lurking here silently). :sweat_smile:

    "you know what I love about the kdrama goblin? it’s that the grim reaper has literally no reason to live with the goblin other than the fact that he decided that after 300 yrs of hard work he deserved to live in a mansion for 20 yrs and he’ll be dammed if he’s giving that up"  CTO 

    And I just remembered these scenes where GR was indeed frustrated with sharing the house with KS. He was very happy when he knew that KS left the house's deed for him, but then became so disappointed (he even said "I love you" to KS) when he realized that the sword wasn't drawn out that night.

    Back then, he was just eager to have the house. Who would have thought (even though we already had the idea that he is the king) that he would also gasp into his past memories just by living in that house? The Almighty took granted GR's decision of wanting to have a house desperately and BOOM, we had episode 11 and 12. :hushed:

    Four more episodes to come and I felt like there are still lots of things that will happen. Hold on mates! 

    BTW, anyone can revise this? It's like a matching type question regarding Goblin, and I want to know what's mine, but I have no idea what's written (I'll probably learn Hangul soon). Share what's yours too. :grin:

    Let me just be honest and say that I'm watching Goblin because of Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook. Maybe its a tad bit shallow but I've been following some of their works in awhile. I just bumped into watching this drama because I needed something new to do. But I like KGEs acting. Chemistry or whatever have you, her character glues the story line. If there is no bride, there is no Goblin TV show. So, I don't agree with the said reviewers insight about ET. This is a fantasy drama. Everyone lives in that META world. The writer can do whatever she wants with the script. She can make ET deep/shallow/whatever. It's her POV. It's her worldview. ~end rant~
