Now that you have Shinhye’s comeback you have started wishing for more...
But, even if KWB cannot make it....do hope he is recovering well and in good physical and mental health. Actually with the synopsis as it is and only 16 episodes....I do NOT want a triangle. A good story, action and focus on their story is enough.
The triangle is SH-HB-Alhambra, Granada Spain as far as I am concerned

Hoping for some more details on the synopsis. Read somewhere about Augmented reality...( vague idea about it since am not good at tech lingo....but seen it used well in Start trek movie and Cdrama Love020....So that could be great if done well...)

yes....it was meant to be!
SH-HB pairing caught the eyes of more than one casting team. Not surprised....Shinhye not only looks good with everyone but is a good actress with popularity to beat all. Also, was making a comeback after a long time
They really wanted them for Fox Star Bride. Then her for Incheon. MOA team seemed to like them for the same reasons....
Do hope the drama turns out to be a good one .....better than what they rejected. It definitely has unique features.
Location shooting at Beautiful setting of Alhambra, Granada..., Great PD, OTP, action melo (fantasy my only concern because it needs to be done well). Also, it’s only 16 episodes. Wanted to see SH for 24ep

Park Shin Hye Confirmed To Join Hyun Bin In Upcoming tvN Drama
On April 23, the actress’s agency and tvN both revealed that she is now confirmed to star in the drama.
“Memories of the Alhambra” is a fantasy melodrama about investment company CEO Yoo Jin Woo who visits Spain and stays at a hostel run by Jung Hee Joo. Hyun Bin will be playing Yoo Jin Woo, while Park Shin Hye has been cast as Jung Hee Joo.
Written by Song Jae Jung, who previously created “W,” “Queen In Hyun’s Man,” and “Nine: Nine Times Time Travel,” “Memories of the Alhambra” will be directed by Ahn Gil Ho of “Forest of Secrets.” The drama will begin filming in May in Spain, and it is scheduled to air during the second half of the year.

I also thought that Shinhye's portrayal would be a very impossible one to top. It required not only immense dedication, sweat and toil to play all the action scenes herself but to perfectly show all the subtleties and nuances of every emotion under the sun was of a top notch calibre. It was by no means an ordinary character she played so perfectly. The only reason I cannot go beyond expressions no these sentiments is the fact that I have not seen the other nominees performances.
As usual Shinhye is perfectly tuned into doing and saying the right thing at the right time. In my 6 yrs of following her ....she has always excelled in it. No wonder they picked her to convey respects for Kim Young Ae. The sentiments could be seen and felt by all in that short time.
That picture of Shinhye and kyungsoo is worth its weight in gold. The natural affection shared is evident in their expressions. He is a perfect gentleman in the way he is holding her hand and conveys lot of respect and admiration at the same time. The time spent while filming for my annoying brother has formed bonds that seem firmly entrenched.

I agree there is no doubt that Shinhye will be winning many laurels in future. I have great hopes from Silent Witness...her first lead role in MV's. Meanwhile, not only us the old timers but new admirers and fans keep increasing in numbers. All indicative of the impression she leaves with each project she undertakes and of course her personality too!

its been some time since I posted here but wanted to share my thoughts with you all.
Shinhye has always been part of Baeksang awards since I started watching her in 2011 ( except last yr) . In seeing her win consecutive popularity awards I had come to regard it as her award.
..yes, I actually did!
But seriously, the last time she won it....I had started thinking that popularity award hindered her in the sense that it gave the detractors opportunity to consider her a popular rather than an actress of calibre ....an actress whose fans bought votes for her. Since she already used to win hands down....it lost its charm.But, It did make me change my thinking to wanting her to win a best actress award to prove that she is both....a popular and a good actress. This year her not winning the popularity award is therefore fine with me. She is still the most followed actress among all.
In regards to her winning the best actress award.....keep it in mind that not everyone even gets nominated. The best actresses from the dramas of all the TV stations are selected. Shinhye was among the final 5. That itself is a great honour. She just acted in one drama and her work was acknowledged. Nowhere in the world does one actress no matter how good gets to win the coveted prize every year. She has been performing extremely well with each project..... Choi In Ha and Yoo Hye Jung are permanently ensconced in my mind just because of her outstanding portrayal.
It was a great honour to have been asked to speak and present the life achievement award from among all the artists when doctors was not even KYA's last drama. No artist was chosen from among the cast of her long drama. It bespeaks of SH's close bonding/ relationship built with Kim Young Ae in just few episodes. That's the sort of person she is!
Finally, may I say how graceful and pretty Shinhye was at award ceremony today?

Gosh!.........so many pages to back read ......more bound to collect until Monday so don't know when to find time ......first time since following Shinhye that have been unable to read all posts about her when working on a drama......
i wrote this some days back so am sure will not have relevancy to ongoing conversation here but still here it is.....about SW.....

Is she or is she not?
A very interesting point mentioned earlier that raises this question and refuses to leave my mind......so here is some loud thinking......
Yes, I do agree she is ....as rightly pointed out......but then it raises another question to my way of thinking. Until what age and time in ones life does this hold true?
I could understand where she was coming from initially when a high schooler and she perceived things under the influence of her upbringing, background, lack of judgement in regards to right and wrong and her possessiveness about SH and JH the teacher.
But, surely she cannot be judged in the same way when she is adult, a responsible doctor. During these 13 years she must have observed people, events and life around her. She must have noticed the things wrong with her family's and her own way of thinking, acting and living.
Seeing life and death at close quarters has a way of putting ones priorities in the right place. One is even more aware of value of time, people, relationships goals etc. For SW, 13 years and life as a doctor does not seem to have touched her in any visible manner. She still seems to live in a world where her needs, wants take precedence over everything . Instead of working towards achieving them, she wallows in self pity and expects them to be given them as her right on demand.
The only way I could understand her attitude or empathize with her is if I consider her to be a weak person who needs to be guided and pushed towards the right direction. She definitely lacks those people in her life in a big way. There in....I do feel bad for her.
Maybe, this impression is because the writer has not really written her character as growing up during these 13 years. But, I am expecting few things that will change that soon ...
1. HJ's arrival in her life once again has shaken her up and I feel it has started the ball in motion for her to rethink and evaluate herself.
2. His father's and grandfather's actions once revealed is bound to make her reassess her life and see them in a new light
3. YD seems to be the one person she honestly feels emotional attachment with and hence his opinion and attitude will affect her to. His rejection, bluntness/ rudeness seems to have resonated with her in a big way. I feel slight change in her already.....with YD's toned down and friendlier attitude in the last episode. Only YD has told her how much a "doormat" she is and has been in the past.....listening to his parents, grandfather......and even him.
i do feel that we will see her become her own person due to above reasons.....finally doing and being the person that she was meant to be. And that is when I see her and YD going forward together in a romantic way..
PS: YD attitude towards SW has become better......too sudden from previously. He was smiling and actually having conversation with her unlike before......a little too sudden!

Hye Jung a strong person or a dominant one?
The question triggered from the simple reason that she was not dominant or forceful during the kiss scene. My train of thoughts did not stop there but went back to what we have seen of HJ until now......
I realized ....starting from her childhood...that she has been strong but never dominant at any point in her life.....
1. HJ withstood all the mental pain and torture of seeing her parents fighting also believing her mother to have died because of her father.
2. As a young child, took repeated physical and mental abuse of her stepmother despite having a father.
3. Teachers/ Principal ....in short none of the adults protected or guided her ...except all too short lived one of halmoni and JH
Though deprived of affection she always responded to love.....never rejected anyone's sincere overtures eg grandmother's, SH, SW, JH and even SC. It was her mental strength that did not leave her harmed by all the above mentioned abuse.
4. She never resorted to violence unless in her own or others defence. A weak person initiates physical abuse.
We saw that in case of SH, SW......as a doctor against gangsters, protecting the mob boss, latest the assailant acting as a husband. She protected others at her own expense fully aware of the consequences and at the same time equally sure of her own mental strength to withstand them. She acted according to her belief that weak need to be protected. It needs a strong person to stand by ones ideals.
She is a strong person. Despite the endless trials and tribulations faced throughout her life she did not turn bitter, self pitied herself , took an easy path or tried to dominate anyone. She channelized all the anger, hurt and bitterness in becoming a strong person independent of others. She focused herself to become the person her grandmother wanted to be. ( I wish we get to know how). It needs immense mental strength to have done so.There are so many instances but am tired of putting them down......even going back for any editing ..........that means ....you all must be tired of reading too...so will end with the simple fact that it needs an extremely strong willed person to have become a neurosurgeon coming from her background and carrying the sort of baggage that she had.-

The scene of JH with his younger self was extremely moving....
Was the presence of him as a child at this particular time mean that JH was thinking back of his loss of real parents again? Was he feeling the same way......the only difference being that he held the tears in unlike when he was young.....
By enveloping his younger self in the circle of his arms ........Did he want to be held Too the same way and be comforted ?
KRW acted so well...
Somehow, I felt that the presence of the young JH was symbolic of all that he was feeling at the loss of his adopted father.....

It seems that the k-netizens are not thinking differently from any of us here in this thread since top 5 videos on Naver until half an hr ago were all from Doctors.....the top three the ones that were most impressive and in our discussions too......
Also, to my way of thinking......them being there on the top even at 8:00am Wed, 27....when it's not even Doctors day anymore shows how good this episode was...

Hullo everyone!
I know we all thought the ratings would go up after watching this weeks episode specially today's......it was wonderful in the sense that the story moved forward, positive growth was seen in all the characters, the dialogues were beautiful and on point.....and .....JiHye were beautiful together in all their scenes....
so what happened?......
something my mother said three episodes ago....stayed at the back of my mind.....She was enjoying it but at that point she asked if I felt it was slowing down a bit......
well....in relative terms compared to beginning episodes that had set the tone for the drama....maybe yes . Even though this week was good but the viewers on the border found last week slower paced.
After two good episodes this week....with the buzz still around.....even after 21 hours after telecast......I expect more viewers to be back next week......

@Lolastarlight1 welcome! You came with a bang....I knew you would be a fountain of info with your resourcefulness.
one thing is for sure that this drama will be one of a kind....with its setting, plot and treatment. Waiting for 6 months for only16 episodes
Augmented realityAR is really cool...seen some of the videos. It will need a competent director like Ahn Gil Ho( Secret Forest) to incorporate in the story and execute it well. The thought is exciting!
Also, hope the action involves Shinhye too along with HB. We have seen in Doctors how good she is.
After listening to the memories of Alhambra on guitar.....cannot wait to see SH as a classic guitarist. Song Jae Jung has really researched well and seem to have gone into great details.
All in all many aspects to look forward to besides the main HB-SH tandem.
