  2. Is CYJ every girl's dream bf? Hahaha... he's so mean! She must have really, really liked him to follow him around like a puppy! But she's also a bit off kilter, which is probably why it worked. Hahaha... Contrary to your observation of their uni life, I didn't think it was fun though. I used to work in an arts institution (I'm not an arts faculty though) and so I have an idea of what an arts education is like. The orchestral politics looked very stressful to me actually, and I really felt for some of the challenges they felt as music majors. Not fun at all, but they rose to it.

Girls(based on my experience) love cold-outside-warm-inside? type of boys. Plus, handsome face. LOL

I'm not sure I am following this - who slimed our Joo Won? What did they say?

He would be my ideal bf only because of that face. Hahaha... otherwise in real life, I would have thrown him into the trash already. The relationship was only believable in a manga-esque way. C'mon, live NEXT to each other, know each other's door code, leave things in each other's home, make plans to study together in Europe and STILL CAN'T KISS?!? Alamak.

No sliming of our JooWon occurred from me gilaswan!!  :sweatingbullets:... I was talking mainly about stereotypical men who are cold on the outside/warm on the inside like YooJin in Cantabile.

  3. YooJin as my ideal bf... hmmm.  I don't think so.  That face though   Nowadays, I think I like the warm inside/warm outside type best.  I couldn't imagine having the inner fortitude to wait for a guy to decide he liked me too.  That said, I think one of the reasons why I like Cantabile (besides Joo Won and the music) was because it reminded me of my high school days.  Getting into mishaps with my friends, having fights and making up, trying to get the cute guy I liked to notice me.  My nostalgia was ramped up to a million while watching Cantabile.  :D

  4. Joo Won needs to have a cupboard full of just white shirts, like in TC. He looks absolutely gorgeous in white shirts...

I'm at the midpoint of TC (Lesson 9) and I can totally see why the show didn't do well on traditional ratings but scored high on the internet platform. It's a very "coming of age" type of drama and I can see why the youth population who are used to the concept of "TV on the computer" would follow it. There should be some way for media industries to use these internet ratings to measure the success of a show.

About TC - why does Nae-Il start calling Yoo-Jin "Sunbae" instead of "Orabang" midway through the show? Nae-Il is cute, but not quite so as a romantic partner? The feeling I get between Yoo-Jin and Nae-II is more an oppa-dongsaeng type relationship. Am I the only one to have thought so?

Nope.  That's very much so how I felt.  I am not having the swooning. :/  I thought the switch in address had something to do with how NaeIl was growing away from just mindlessly liking him, and viewing him as both her school sunbae, as well as someone she respected and had real feelings for.  Just my two cents though! :D

As I have followed him for years,I realized that he loves stability and hates any form of conflicts. When it comes to fans,he is not going to pamper them.Conflicts between fans hurt him the most.I still remember the actions he took because of that. I was still closet fan then and still fangirling other Idols. His action amazed me like no other. Then,I too wondered what was wrong with him. But this is his belief and his way of conducting fandom. He seems to be quite strict also, when it is not right time,he will not give in to any of fan requests.

Yong Pal attracted many new fans and many are still green to Joo Won. Some might believe that JW will behave like any other celebrities. When he doesn't, assumptions happen.Eg: the post of Joo Won not giving autograph when asked during shopping.Or not friendly. None of these are true. We have fans here who have seen Joo Won in real life and interacted with him. They have written fan accounts and they definitely show that JW is a friendly BUT quiet guy in real life, especially towards strangers.

It is not that JW is not friendly but I think it is just too overwhelming for him to be center of the attention. Also, introverts take longer time to erase the awkwardness at any situation and hate being approached when not in right situation.Being an introvert myself, I could somehow understand him. The tension that we feel before we are about to communicate with any stranger is crazy. We could be shaking and doubting everything and anything. Those worries and doubtfulness sometimes show on our faces. Hence, people start to wonder if we are angry or something. Sensitivity is also part of our personality and if someone does what we dislike, the unhappiness shows on our faces and behavior. This might be the reason why Joo Won didn't wave and wore the "sad" face when fans ran after him in SG.

Of course,I am not Joo Won,but this is how I behave as a introvert person.

I don't mean to pick on you (your post just reminded me of this), but there is a difference between introversion and shyness.  I hate when people use "introvert" as a euphemism for "shy".

I do think he's an introvert, but not an extreme one.  However, I think he's also somewhat shy.  Less so now than he was a couple of years ago maybe, but still a little.  He's gotten better at the "public face" thing, but when he's caught off guard, you can still see it.  You're right; he doesn't necessarily like to be the center of attention unless it's a performance or something.  I find that very interesting.

Speaking as an introvert who also loves being on stage and performing in front of people, I can also understand the dichotomy between JooWon (perhaps) being an introvert but also really loving acting/being on stage.  When acting or playing in front of an audience, you've (hopefully) mastered whatever it is and are as close as possible to being totally confident in yourself and what you're doing.  You've rehearsed and rehearsed and don't have to commit your already low energy to figuring out how to navigate a situation.

I love the cinematography for Tomorrow Cantabile, they capture the autumn colors so prettily. Watching the drama, listening to the wonderful music takes one to a special place. If you are in a temperate climate where it's turning into fall now, this drama is also fitting for the season.

Yes, so pretty.  I dumped a bunch of pretty fall ones when I was trying to convince...whoever it was (sorry!) to watch a couple of weeks ago.  (Did it work? Haha)  Here are a couple more though.

I joked about this last year too, that I could just look out the damn window and it would pretty much look like that.   At least in spots.  But somehow, it looks so much nicer in the drama.  Maybe it's the other, um, "scenery" too? :D

I think I must be finally hit with the dreaded kdrama amnesia. There seems to be a few things which you were eluding to and I have absolutely no idea. What was that about part 1 or 2?

I am going to watch TC. Maybe after Yong Pal rewatch or concurrently. End of the year is the craziest time for me...I hope I have some wee time for myself and indulge.

Lucky you...the only time I see such nice autumn colors is in some huge portraits of a bridal shop. Okay, but I got to see the gorgeous in flesh last week, so life is fair. If Joo Won were to go to your town, would you stalk him?

I sometimes wonder how it will be like if he had a chance to travel for holiday. Go to a place where no one recognizes him and he doesn't need to hide behind his sunglasses.

If I came across Joo Won randomly I don't think I would have the courage to stalk him.  The fans that can do that are super dedicated!! :D

  7. Heh I loved the Cantabile otp. Of course, I haven't watched the Japanese one. I found them cute and at the same time mature in a way (?).  I wanted to post my favorite bts still of Joowon and Shim Eun Kyung but I can't find it! I swear everytime I look for something I can't find it and then when I'm just browsing I come across it. Aghh. Anyways it's the one where Joowon is staring down at her. It's so cute.

The reason why JW was bending down and looking at the man.

    Cr as tagged.

Many asked me why I like JW and why I like him for so long?  THIS. Plus his acting.

So considerate.  :tears:  The littlest gestures are the ones I value more.

:D  Shim Eun Kyung is teeny tiny so there are probably many shots of him staring down at her.  Was it a BTS or a still from one of the eps?

  8. Responding a zillion hours later to @gilaswan.. Cantabile is sweet, but I find the romance less compelling than I thought I would, which is surprising given JooWon's ability to "fall in love" with all his leading ladies.  I've watched (and rewatched several times) the J-version and found the romance a lot more believable there.

More believable because it's more "Japanese-like"? Or cos of the leads?

Hmm... I think it was because of the leads and the way that the writer really focused the story on the two characters growing to love each other for who they were.  Not that the K-version doesn't do that, but I feel that the J-version did it better.  (This is all so subjective though lol.  You may feel quite differently!)

  9. O.O K-ent is brutal, is all I have to say.  I suppose, however, it's just like every other industry.  There's good apples and bad apples, and all we can do is hope that JooWon has good people surrounding him who won't let things go poorly for him.  As an example of a company that did/is doing fairly well by their golden goose: Hook Ent and Lee Seung Gi.  Maybe SIM will take a few pages out of their book.

(I just realized that I may have committed a terrible sin by mentioning another man on this thread :P Sorry my fellow cuties!!)

  10. @farbarri  Whatever the case may be (he can't get out from SIM's orders or if just doesn't want to), as a fangirl I think I just find it frustrating to see him pulled in so many different directions.  :tears: But as you say, he's a smart and mature guy with his eye on the future... and truth be told I really don't want JooWon copying Won Bin and disappearing in between projects.  It's crazy frustrating!!

  11. Don't shoot me 진구 :sweatingbullets:, but I'm doing all this reading about the somewhat poor job SIM is doing, managing cutie. and I really find myself wishing that he'd follow Won Bin's example and just skip doing appearances altogether.  Then he'd have time to do what he loves- acting.  Obviously this would be sad for me as a fan girl, but at least he wouldn't have to deal with the antis bothering him!!
