  1. Ah @Samuel Yohanes , the same problem also exists for actresses too... Think about Son Hye-jin or Gong Hyo-jin unnies... I guess Korean entertainment sector is really ruthless... Everybody can date whoever they want and people should respect that. However, it is not possible in Korea I guess...

What hit me so hard was Jeong-ha and her fathers moments in this episode. I started crying when the father said "forgive me"... It is so so so sad. How her mother treats her and how his father wanted to be with her but did not want to separate her from her mom and also he didn't have finances to take care of his family at that time.

Haraboji and Hye-jun's moments in this episode were also cute but Jeong-ha and her dad hit me hard in the heart... :sad1:

Have rest chingu @MinLyn and I hope you get well soon!

  2. Happy Chuseok chingudeul! All my love from Istanbul to you!

I forgot to tell something about the kiss scene (in the car); I loved how they asked each others permissions, they respect each other... Kissing might be teasing if one part doesn't want and the other wants or they might hesitate even if they both want. I loved how they cared about each others thoughts...

And I wonder what is going to happen in the bedroom scene, when I thought about it the second time... they seemed a bit upset :(

    Anyway, happy holidays! :foryou:

  3. Ah chingus, I burst into tears at the end of the episode; what is going to happen to our couple :criesariver:

    • I loved how eomma supported her younger son Hye-jun-a, kudos to eomma! She's so kind, like an angel, the exact opposite of Hae-hyo's mom who's a plotter... ugh. I liked her at the beginning but now I don't.
    • I hope haraboji will have a good future as a model! Kudos to haraboji too! And I hope that Hye-jun and Gyeong-jun's father became a better person by learning from what he did... he actually loves his youngest son but maybe envies him but he shouldn't treat him in bad manners.
    • Jeong-ha, if I was able to support you, ah girl! I really am glad that there is Soo-bin in that workplace and also glad that their manager is a smart woman who didn't take the bait of Jin-ju and her silly friend... And our Jeong-ha's mother is such a cold-hearted grudgeful woman! Unbelievable! Why do you disgrace your daughter like that! YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT YOUR DAUGHTER NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS. Ugh! seriously!
    • I cannot hate Jin-ju or Hae-hyo or even Hae-hyo's mom but I guess I hate Jeong-ha's mom! For what she did to her! How can you make your daughter cry from the heart like that! UGH!
    • I even will not talk about Hye-jun's ex, I will only say: In you face! Huh! (You're such a cool man, Hye-jun <3 )
    • What is going to happen to our couple, are their schedules too tight to meet? :(
    • Chingus, by the way, did our couple had a time together in Jeong-ha's bedroom :rip: waaaah, if that is so, I think I'm dying! It really doesn't have to be a hot scene but that was so cute!

  4. 안녕하세요 chingus! Just finished episode 7 and OMOOOOO I don't know what to say, I have very mixed feelings because I was so happy at the ending scene when I saw our Hye-jun putting his right hand on his heart (Note: I do the same gesture in Turkey, it is like a "thank you from my heart" gesture!) I felt a deep warm feeling in my heart! Hye-jun-a, you steal everybody's hearts!!! :omg:

@LRM11219311 chinguya don't get so mad at Hae-hyo :) he's just a rich kid from the block hahahaha! He really is jealous right now of his best friend and his best friend's girlfriend.

Learn from the past1: Hae-hyo helped Hye-jun in the past to get some jobs like photoshoots.

Learn from the past2: Actually that was Hae-hyo's mom who was always involved in most of his jobs so, he should not have credit for these. He will learn eventually from the past. We will see that, I am sure chingus.

Live in the present1: I love Jeong-ha calling Hye-jun "Ga-ja cheetah!", she knows he likes to run, to live and enjoy life. She also enjoys life but she has some fears. She lives in the present but was hurt so much because of her family in the past, she has fears to overcome. Oh I love Jeong-ha-ya! Fighting girl!

Live in the present2: I love how our cutiepie couple had that kiss in the car! They said "do as you like" to each other and they like each other so win-win! And chingus... who said the first kiss was so weak... this is a drama, people in real life have even weaker or worse than that. It wasn't weak at all to me, that was what it is, what they needed at that moment, a mix of consolation and love. And let me get that clear, it was better than the hot kiss in It's Okay to not be Okay.

I cannot say anything about the future but I have some comments:

    • I hate Jin-ju's "office gossips" behind Jeong-ha. It happened to me too, it happens to everyone, if you are not careful enough, someone might oust you. So dirty... I would like to see my Jeong-ha to teach a lesson to that bad woman! Fighting!
    • And what was that marathon of Hae-hyo?? Man, are you out of your mind? She's out of your league, obviously, she doesn't like you that way, why pushing your limits? If I like X but see that X likes Y, I try to be rational... That is not a love triangle... This is obsession.
    • The love triangle, I guess, was between Hae-hyo, Hye-jun and his ex Jin-ah (who seems to be very very annoying). And Hae-hyo, how do you dare to get that woman back to Hye-jun-a?! What are the limits of your jealousy?!

I tried to use Shazam to find out the last song when Hye-jun made his hand gesture to his heart (aaaaahhhh whenever I remember this, there are some little birds chirping in me) but couldn't find it... I hope they will release it soon!

    사랑과 키스 chingus!!!! :cutekitty:

  5. Aigoooo! Chingu @Sakurafairy what a careful sight you have!!!!! If they started dating in 2019, will we be able to see him after military?!

Waaah :( I feel like I won't be able to wait until next Monday and every Monday I'm feeling so tired due to work and my enjoy was this drama

I also started watching W: Two Worlds Apart the same time with ROY. Do you have any other suggestions? I finished IOTNBO this summer. Maybe the Nine Tailed Fox?

  6. 안녕하세요 @Springmaiden ! (Although it is 9 pm in Istanbul hehe). So yes, I might be an eonnie, being older than 30 y-o :)

Actually, I guess the only "future narrator" is Hye-jun. I don't think Jeong-ha or Hae-hyo are the "future narrators" of the storyline but they are also the POV (point-of-view) characters of this drama. Hye-jun has spoken from the future when he said "At that time I didn't know we'd end up like this!"

In my opinion, this might be due to the military service. In Turkey, our military service for men is also obligatory but not like Korea; ours is not like "you have to do your military service before you are 28". For instance, men who pursue masters or PhD or things like that might postpone their service until 35 and also they can "pay" to  due their service for 30 days....... it's like, if you're from a rich family, you're lucky enough to do it for 30 days.

Long story short, our main character Hye-jun has to join the military soon, he will be 27, he should shine like a big star before joining the military and he really has a pressure on his shoulders to beat the others. He didn't want to do that before, to compete with others, he was only competing with himself but in the "entertainment" sector, it is not as simple as that. You have to deal, compete, beat the others. Just as Min-jae eonnie faced the ugly side of the sector... (I love her sincerity so much! - I also had to deal with men like these!)

So, as of episode 6, I think that only JH is speaking from the future but not the others yet. HH is just a rich kid (very sorry to say so but he is) who thinks that he can reach and get everything he wants. But no sir! Not this time! Even if you pursue our girl JH, her heart belongs to somebody else, from the beginning... And "choosing love over friendship"? Say what? Never do that... Nobody should ever be divided by this. I was... and both my friendship of 10 years and my relationship with my boyfriend ended last year. It sucks. Never, ever be in the middle. EVER.

i don't have energy left to talk about Hae hyo. exhausted sigh.

Dear chingu you got me "lol" at that part :)

I love the narration and directornim's close ups and all of the beautiful scenes, they're so impressive! I love these much more realistic dramas for sure, Dinner Mate was also one of the dramas I liked so much because it's narrative was about two persons from "real/fiction". I love surreal dramas too but I guess, during this pandemic, I needed some realistic dramas that will help my emotions... that will give me some hope about the future. Surreal dramas do not give me a single hope.

Who said, I cannot remember the nickname, "a kiss that is so early might end up with the couple's break-up in the coming episodes"? It might be true, this is so sad... He will surely go for the military service and come back in 2020 and we will see our couple's future? I don't need a marriage at the end, I just want to see them happy, hand in hand together. <3

  8. Dearest chingus, I just finished episode 6 and let me sob for a minute please, it was so so so so beautiful.

And sorry not sorry to say this but this relationship is better than It's Okay To Not Be Okay's couple! (Yes, I cried so hard for Moon Kang-tae and Ko Moon-young in IOTNBO but 아이고, THIS-IS-WAY-BETTER). It's much more realistic, I feel them, it is like I can feel their heartbeat! So good!

    Spoiler

I felt so bad for Hye-jun-a, how his father treats him and his haraboji! They don't deserve a treatment like this! What a grudgeful man!

I love how the relationship of Hye-jun-a and Jung-ha-ya grows! With small steps, cute steps, with understanding each other, respecting each other and by chemistry their hearts flutter! Oh gosh, it is like a dream!

And chinguyas, I don't want to say "I said so" but "I said so"... love triangle is on its way but, it is not a triangle, it is like a dot who tries to enter in the way of an arrow... Chaebal, Ahjusshi Dot (Hae-hyo), come out of this way! It is not your way to intervene them! I love you too, but NO. 아니야 !!!! Don't make me buy a plane ticket and come to Seoul! (I want to come over there so much ugh  )

Im sorry to say this. i dont hate bogum at all, he is great actor tho.

I just want more justice for my sodam. Just it. After watched fifth episode, me be like

Yeah i know bogum is halyu star and king of rating. but the production team should be not do these things for park sodam. Park sodam deserved better. Ahn jungha character is unique with natural acting. Why the production team wasted her talents

Oh no they didn't! I LOVE Park So-dam's acting! She brings to life such a joyful character who had great sorrow in the past! I am definitely sure that we will see her family anytime soon in the coming episodes!

Please don't think like that, she's a shining star! I cannot even forget her acting in the Parasite movie, she and Choi Woo-sik were like true siblings

I cried so hard on the confession part, it felt very unpredictable and touching scene. Waaah. Park bogum and Park sodam exceeded my expectations of their chemistry. Daebak! I really hate to say this but i love Record of youth more than encounter. I really really love song hye kyo but this drama waaah! To be honest, I didn’t plan to watch the drama because i was so hung up on it’s okay to not be okay after the drama ended but thankfully I did press to watch record of youth on netflix. Those two have a really strong chemistry and same goes to the other characters too. Waahh. Perfect.

I didn't watch Encounter but I guess I don't like SHK, sorry about that :( I didn't like her acting in Descendants of the Sun where Kim Ji-won shone out. But I want to watch Encounter because of Park Bo-gum now! He is so good!

Just a moment ago I finished episode 5 and ah my heart bumped so hard at the end! Our Hye-jun-a started liking his best fan/friend Jung-ha-ya!!!!! Hae-hyo seems to be a bit jealous of the situation, despite that HH didn't spend so much time with JH, he started liking her too. In my opinion, that is because his best friend likes her, likes to be around her and became friends with her too fast. So, HH started looking at JH differently! But sir, please don't interrupt our cutie couple, your soulmate waits you somewhere else ^_^

This relationship is so cute, friendly and it will be sooooo romantic, I became very impatient of when I wait for every new episode!

  11. Just finished episode four so it would be better to write my comments in spoiler content:

    Spoiler

Oh God, I loved this episode so much! I love the way their friendship grows; the way Hye-jun starts to get to know his top fan and she is like a genuine hearted, kind fan that he would have dreamt of. The same goes for Jung-ha, he is the most genuine hearted celebrity out of all the celebrities she has chosen because he comes from a middle class family where every member tries to earn a living for their lives. Having similar backgrounds, they can grow empathy for each other.

The scene where Hye-jun says "Don't go ever drinking with somebody else" was so good! He takes care of her and doesn't want to see her crying to someone (I guess some "man" hehe) else .

Oh I cannot wait for next week's episodes! I love how this drama goes! It feels so real, not like a fantasy and not exaggerated at all!

Bo-gum shi! Hope you will have a healthy military service! Be well!

So-dam shi! I love your acting so much! Fighting!

P.S: Dong-mi shi and Hee-ra and Ae-ra shi, aaahhhhh you act so well! Women power, go! Fighting!!!!

  12. Hello! After "IOTNBO", I waited so long for this drama and here it is! It is my first time watching Park Bo-gum acting and he is so good at it! I did not know that!

I love Park-Park chemistry, they're bounded with a good start and also with friendship and I guess this is the best way to start a relationship.

    Spoiler

Jung-ha is afraid that her feelings for Hye-jun might cause a mess but I loved the way how Hae-hyo gived her the courage to "just go for it! go with your feelings!".

I don't think there would be a love triangle (at first I thought that Hae-hyo had feelings for Hye-jun hahah, apologies).

I love Park So-dam's acting too! She's genuinely embarking on her roles! Go sis!

Hope Record of Youth has good ratings! It deserves!

  13. Ah these last three episodes, I cried so much... which makes my heart ache, really.

These characters hit me so hard; Sang-tae oppa growing as a hyung and acting like one. Gang-tae growing like an adult and not letting his precious ones go away. Moun-young being like herself and not like an artwork of her mother (which is so cruel, her mother was a lunatic, not Moun-young).

I hope that they will overcome all those hurtful past of theirs... I cannot even imagine my partner's mom killing my mom and looking at his face everyday but if we had a true bond, thinking about that... humans after all, we can overcome a lot of difficulties when we're together.

Apologies for my language, I sometimes write like I'm speaking my thoughts...

I'm sad that this drama comes to an end tomorrow but also happy to watch such a good story for the last 2 months. You gave me joy, sadness, hope, love, everything I needed in these pandemic times... I am grateful for this aesthetic art piece you gave to us directornim, writernim, Soo-hyun shi, Yea-ji shi and especially Jung-se shi (I watched many of your series before, and you were great in each of it), all the actors and actresses and the team - the cutest team that could ever brought us this drama. Thank you all!

P.S: Despite that it wasn't the end of the drama, with tonight's episode I felt like I was watching the end... and the kiss-to-be... Haha, I love how you make feel that way! That is better than watching  an actual kiss, that was a pure esthetic scene too!

  14. Hello! I'm very fresh to this platform, I was following most of your comments here and I am so glad that there are a lot of people who REALLY love this drama. Hands up for Moon Bros and Ko Moon-Young! (For Jae-su, Ju-ri and others too!)

    :7555_attack:

I'm Turkish and maybe you're aware or maybe not of most of the Turkish series (not the recent ones that have been customized from Korean series but the old ones I'm talking about). We had many major series that were melodramatic that you couldn't help yourself but cry and feel sad for a long time about them. So, IOTNBO for the last two episodes reminded me a thing that I've read in our literature and watched in our series... It's an intuition but I'm sure writernim will not end like this:

If IOTNBO was a Turkish series the end would be like; Moon-young's mom would not be dead at all, the actress Park O-Ran would be Moon-young's real mom with a lot of plastic surgeries and she would have return to kill Sang-tae and when Gang-tae would stand up to protect his big brother he would have been stabbed by Park O-ran and die (I don't want this to happen of course :bawling:) and Moon-young would have been pregnant with Gang-tae's baby (maybe a son as she desired)... Does it also remind you some Latin American melodramas, yeah some Turkish series are also like that haha...

Writer-nim please give us a happy ending, everybody needs that. Most of the psychological issues were handled so softly in this drama I couldn't hold my tears back and cried a lot and felt relieved at the end.

So I'm inserting IU's OST from Hotel del Luna - Our Happy Ending here:

    Spoiler

    Take care all!

P.S: By the way when Moon-young's mother killed Moon Bros' mother, she mentioned "It is me who will take care of my child". I think Moon Bros' mom was working at the Welfare Center (maybe? or in a hospital? until late hours) and she would be taking care of Moon-young because it seemed that at her age she seemed lonely and threatening other kids... Do Hui-Jee interfered at this decision to let her only daughter being in a Welfare Center (or elsewhere?) because she was already obsessed with her daughter and killed the woman who would have been in charge of Moon-young...
