  1. @tianaa  You're post just reminded me...I didn't catch if someone already responded to the idea of snow from a clear sky but it is a real weather phenomena called Diamond Dust and occurs when the temperature is cold enough. For those confused by our OTP watching stars while it was snowing....no editing mistake or script error.

Diamond dust is a ground-level cloud composed of tiny ice crystals. This meteorological phenomenon is also referred to simply as ice crystals and is reported in the METAR code as IC. Diamond dust generally forms under otherwise clear or nearly clear skies, so it is sometimes referred to as clear-sky precipitation.

  2. @a15t3  Since the ratings aren't counted beyond SK. @meahri_1 has come up with a plan to have fan numbers show up on the radar of naver and others.  Hopefully a mob or large crowd of people tweetie the same thing it will draw attention to the sheer number of viewers not being noticed in SK. @LyraYoo is hopefully going to provide us with some much needed direction on accomplishing this.  So if you have any ideas as to how we can get the word out, coordinate the effort, reach the most number possible and so forth ...we could use the input.

  3. @LyraYoo  Since you seem to be most familiar with this. Can you post all the hashtags we would want to include with our emoji?

Also..what would be your guess as to the best time for this campaign to start?  Is today too soon? How long would you guess it takes to organize? What would carry the greatest impact... synchronized or can it be fluid?

We can use twitter since it was already mentioned in naver news (topicality index)

Actually using the hangul hashtags will automatically be crawled by naver's real time results. So we are hitting two birds with one shot .

Also the emoji. If twit count will suffice hihi. \^0^/ , agrees with @bebebisous33

Ive been liveblogging SHR thru twitter so i can help. ^^.

P.s. Lee joon gi is indeed a vampire. Plus the weight loss added to the youthful.look of wang so. Whoa.

Great and the word can be spread to other venue, like @patoi and her Thailand FC... Do we need a zero hour (day date- Seoul time)  to start this onslaught?

@meahri_1 For your idea to show our support for Moon lovers, I have a suggestion: we don't need to write a text in Hangul for tweet! If we simply write: \^0^/  next to Moon lovers and the title in Hangul, people from SBS would know what it means and that we are all watching it. What do you think? This\^0^/ is universal, but also a symbol for our drama!

Cute....and fitting....does it work for everyone?

Now it is time to counteract the damage done to ML:SHR and show them just how reflective this MOON can be!

I love @meahri_1 idea.  Let's Go For IT!!!

  7. @patoi I wondered where you went. Good to have you back. We missed you terribly!

I am so glad he is so hot in Thailand. Great news!  Please, please, please relay our love to our friends in Thailand and tell them those in the international community appreciate their love of Joon AND their support for him!

Lots of fun stuff to read through.  The sister thread is dissecting every scene of ML to amuse themselves while waiting for the next episode to savor and here we are doing what we always do... drooling.

Sniff! I had long post ready and some blob must have swallowed it!

Will rewrite the most, ahem, intelectual parts. :P

Lack of warm bodies? *carefully looks around to see if there are any zombies or vampires behind her* What do you mean by that?

No, just the opposite - he always says v. nice things about her. And he doesn't like - the girl truly is good actress and I bet she's a nice girl. Won't understand her haters, really.

Joon Gi is amazing person. He's nice guy, so cool to his fans, so funny on IG or wherever he posts his photos and videos. His skills are amazing, his acting abillities are great... He has fantastic sense of humor - he's perfect human being.

Not to mention he's incredibly handsome. :)

Oh I never heard it before! Actually I'm not a fan of songs sang by actors, they're mostly the same but I must say this one I like. It's lovely and Joon Gi can also sing (not only act). Wow! I knew only one of his songs and never before dared to check the others (Joon Gi, I love you, man, but hell I couldn't get J-style out of my head for weeks!!!). This time I told to myself that (as we say) the world belong to the brave. Sooo... really nice song. :)

Now under spoiler tag I'll ask one thing:

      Reveal hidden contents

I could understand this with Mirror of the witch but I can't get it what's wrong with the pair of actors in MDBC? It's not like he can be her father, he's older only few years. It's not like she's 14 and his 30-something, how many years is that? 5 at the most I believe. Maybe I'm not shocked by that because I've seen couples in real life with the age gap like this - the guy barely adult and the girl 17. Nothing so shocking. Why it would bother anyone in the movie?

As I said - I could understand that i MotW where the age gap was really too much (but the story was delicate so there wasn't anything shocking at all) so actors couldn't make it believable. I don't know - to me MDBC is not Lolita or something.

After episode no 4 (the scene where he talked to his mother, all covered in blood and sword in his hand) I got why he had to lose his weight. After the life Wang So suffered healthy looking Joon Gi woul be unreal. So I got it why the director told him to diet. But it still breaks my heart he had to suffer in real life to look like this.

I really understand it and I'm glad he doesn't say anything. Really! I only wish he had someone he can huddle.

Jesus Christ!!!  Don't they have better things to do? Work? School maybe???

... Someone to huddle?  .....hmmmm, I don't think we'll have any trouble finding enough players for that huddle :w00t:  How are you at soccer?

    BTW....instagram has hit 650K

@minmarThanks for the explanation! An ugly facet of crazy fans from all the world. And it's seems K-fans are more “fighting”!

Thank you. I too am a recent fan of Joon.  I found him a year ago now. At first... I admit I was about to melt seeing him. OMG. He was so beautiful. It was like he wasn't real. I went on in life for several months but the fascination drew me back and I had to learn more. As you maybe can tell my personality is one where I have to investigate everything... including this sudden inability to forget that face. Never felt anything like that before...and since I was an american snot I thought myself above such silliness. Embarrassed and confused I tried hunting for something to make me dislike this guy. Nothing I read about him personally was a negative. He was open, honest, sincere, sometimes shy and sometimes proud. The more I learned of him personally the more I was hopelessly falling in love.

Not knowing jump about Kdrama... I then had to find out what other things besides that movie he'd done. I found a kdrama site... then several more and started a binge. I loved it all and watched them all over and over. I then found this site and have been here since.

Welcome aboard and don't bother trying to detox.   with Joon it just won't work!

    About the ratings,

I took the time to read as many comments I could on other sites than Soompi about Moon Lovers. One of them troubled me because it's explaining that the low rating is because in K still exist an anti movement... Well I don't know what exactly meas that... political tensions? :sweatingbullets:

After all the MLSHR is a remake after a C-drama. to me It seems to be the best explanation for the low rating in Korea.

And this... I'll be very sad if this is true.:(

Ok an explanation of the anti movement.

    Spoiler

In researching and trying to find out about the low ratings I did run across several articles that referenced the phenomena of the Korean Anti fan. . this started  as early as the 1990's and showed the extreme measures some fans went to in supporting their idols. Legions of such fans actively worked to damage those people or things they saw as competition against whatever their bias happened to be. It was a severe way of proving how committed a fan you were. Groups of these antis demonstrated support for their bias by doing things like going to concerts of other idols they saw in competition with their idol and buying blocks of tickets so the auditorium would be silent. They would send hate mail with razor blades and even in some extremes send poison. (two stars or family members were injured in this way)  As the anti movement spread it devolved into fights between fan groups outside of some venues. Finally due to increased police involvement and public criticism the more violent aspects of the Anti fan movement has fallen off sharply. What has replaced it is a more anonymous version. Now what is happening is that groups are going to a thing called Buzz sites..(created specifically to allow unfiltered public commentary).  These sites have blocking filters to prevent things like PR companies, agencies. studios and others who normally try to influence public opinion from posting. For a while it was a great way for advertisers, companies, studios, TV stations and the like to gauge public reactions   However, knowingly or unknowingly  these sites have  become the new stage for the reemergence of anti fans to show a new kind of support by engaging in organized campaigns of negative commentary.

Hope this helps explain what Antis are and what a buzz site does.

It's interesting that you mentioned that. I was talking with someone PM about this very thing. I think it is ok if I share what I said and it may explain both why I have been absent from both of the threads here and why the ratings have been low.

    Spoiler

Ok I have to apologize I wasn't clear in what I was saying. I had gone to Dramabeans and was reading an article about MDBC extending the series.  That was where I had seen post after post saying NO!

    http://www.dramabeans.com/2016/09/kbs-in-talks-to-extend-moonlight-drawn-by-clouds/

In trying to find out more about the poor ratings and reading several articles similar to the one I referenced  in that post regarding hate groups,  I actually went to several Buzz sites and checked the archives to read posts immediately preceding and following ML first episode and yes it was fairly obvious that there was a  netizen onslaught against ML. There are even posts (although fewer in number) on sites like asian wiki. ex:

buluku Sep 08 2016 12:07 pm I like love in the moonlight more than this, Lee joon gi is too weak here, no charm at all and the story goes very slow, Park bo gum is the coolest Prince at allllllll

The flood of negatives comments were very  generic saying only that the acting was bad or that ML was only a vehicle to push these idols.

From the more specific comments I drew the following conclusion. There seem to have been three groups most vocal about their dislike.

Those rooting for MDBC and or one or all of its leads.

    People who hate IU.

And the third and most erratic group... those who are either jealous or resentful of idols/stars/celebrities/wealth/American influx of money.

They covered a variety of dislikes from those who do not want any idol crossing over who  "are just in it for the money" "have no business acting, don't they have enough"  who "take jobs from real actors"," hates the involvement of outside money giants like Universal"etc etc.

After all this research,,, since I wasn't doing much posting here... I can say that there was definitely a concerted effort through negative posts in as many venues as possible to sabotage ML in the ratings.  Some of the same ideology is showing itself  under the Dramabeans article  regarding MDBC extending episodes. So it's pretty obvious that they are more of the jealous/envious variety. I think the IT phenomena is the ...I am for the underdog  rather than real jealousy. Although I am for the underdog may simply be a more acceptable attitude than accepting they are jealous/resentful of others.

Finally, I also found a small but active bias against LJG which was that younger people mainly see his fans as old.  They will say he is a good actor but since they see his fans as old they see themselves as too young to strongly support hi

  12. Re:Dr Myri Blogspot.  Just from the style of writing and the interspersing of that running commentary,,, I would guesstimate that the the author of this blog is an overly self impressed 20 something with descent writing skills, bad acne and nothing else to do but start a blog. IF not they should be. I get the impression he likes rubbing people the wrong way... en masse.

  13. Hello again to all and welcome @Berou It is so nice to see the room crowded again. Love that!  For awhile we definitely had a good echo going in here because of that lack of warm bodies.

Ratings Ratings Ratings. While I wish the SK audience had a bit more discernment and didn't just follow the popular "IT" of the moment, I doubt that will change. I do think that Joon will get awards for this despite it not getting high ratings. The reason is that while the industry itself does propagate the latest trend, they are also in the business of rewarding good work. Even SWWTN won Joon a Ten Star and it was hardly a highly rated show. No, I think this performance is so good that Joon will get an award and I am betting on Best Actor or whatever the equivalent is in SK that comes from his peers and isn't dependent on trends or popularity.

To answer @Berou  (and add to those already given)... You won't find a more warm and sincere person. The man is amazing. Loving, kind and considerate. Joon (as did the director) knew going into this that IU was going to see some criticism yet he NEVER said one word to undermine her. Now that's class. He readily admits he was not as good when he started... and while he might think that is true.. I disagree. He may not be the same as he was but even then he was as good as, if not better than most of what you see now. Pick anything he's done and it's good,, high ratings or not.

And when he does action scenes ...OMG.....he isn't depending on good cuts, creative shots, stuntmen, wires, spring boards, stand ins or any of the other bells and whistles that make an actor look like a kick butt hero. In terms of martial arts and action scenes he's the real thing and just knowing what he is doing is real makes it so much better.   (pant, slurp)   To me... that's sexy and jaw droppingly amazing. I would much rather drool over a guy who is naturally beautiful and strong  than watch the latest "IT...pretend to be.

There were princes also in between 4 and 8, and 14 was younger by several years. King Taejo used marriage to unite the different factions/clans within the county. In all he had 29 wives, and thus, many children. Because of that, at a certain point, they likely had to use other factors to determine the rank/number of each prince born within the family, Unfortunately, I was unable to find details of that, but perhaps one of our other chingu came across something in the course of learning about Goryeo's history.

Let's see, how do we work this into an equation?  (Q>C)+BD- F=P or Queens greater than consorts plus birthdate..minus females = prince birth order

  15. For all of those trying to understand the antipathy toward Moon Lovers:Scarlet Heart Ryeo. IU or Baekhyon that is being posted online I have found an article that may shed some light on this. While it doesn't deal directly with this particular case of anti fan reactions, it does explain the basic outline of how things get to this point and what generates it.

  16. There is an old passage from the bible that says a prophet is not recognized in his own country. In this case... it is an actor who is being largely ignored in his own country. I know I have beat this subject into the ground... but it is obvious that there aren't enough people who know just how amazing and phenomenal he is.  Part of that is his own modesty...but it is past time for someone to publicly bang this drum until Korea notices where camera tricks and stuntmen end and awesomeness begins. Joon doesn't just act these parts..he lives them. And what he does and what we see really are swoonworthy.

How much truth! My stonehead can't understend! As SHR has more international success, the ratings in Korea drops! I wonder how LJG feels right now and if this rating will influence his career. He doesn't seem to be too happy... or it's only my impresion. Maybe I ask too much but I think he deserves to be awarded for his performance in the SHR, a big one prize.:D

If you have a hard head...so do I.   I suppose there are valid reasons... maybe things are just so darn depressing in Korea that they only want the light stuff?  Anyway... our cutie has hit 600K already...  which is another 100k in under a week....
