I don't think it will go away if you turn older. A lot of asians have this type of eyelid. 
You can try the tape and experiment with putting it in different locations. There are video tutorials on YouTube. But the tape is not a permanent way of "correcting" this fold.
I mean this type of eye is pretty natural so there's no need to "correct" it. It's not like it's some sort of disfigurement.
But if your question is how to obtain double eyelids, then you should try eyelid tape/glue or plastic surgery.
