While other celebrities have been dumping ice water on themselves and challenging other stars to do so, actor Takeshi Kaneshiro recently accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge without nominating anybody.

According to Focus Taiwan, the Taiwanese-Japanese actor posted a video on 20 August, where he was seen pouring ice cubes into a container filled with water before dumping it on his head.

However, the actor made no comment after the video and did not challenge any of his colleagues to do the same.

Instead, a caption on the video reads, "I hope that everyone who sees this video will do a spontaneous thing to show care for the society without needing to be challenged."

Takeshi also said that he supports the project, which was made to raise awareness and collect funds that will be used for the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research, but will not nominate anyone else.
