Hey! A lot of you are properly signing up for IPLE accounts now. Even though there is a foreigner's sign-up option. The site is all in Korean! >_< I am still trying to figure it out myself but... someone has kindly done a tutorial before me on how to do basic/essential options. I have also added my own + my friend (Mishie) tutorials on things we have found out, I'll continue to upload more when we found out more ^^ Anyone that wants to add to this thread on things you have found are also welcome to! WOW... it's been almost a year since I updated this... Sorry I haven't been keeping this updated. I'm in uni. so school really takes a toll on me x___x I have updated the 'LIST OF SOOMPI IPLE USERS' and for those that has questions, I have updated the questions thread, your answers should be there ^^ Hmm... please note that I'm NOT Korean so I can't really answer all of your questions =_= Ie. Translate what something says, etc. (I wish I can understand Korean though). It seems that Iple has updated their layout and set up... to what extent, I don't know because I haven't use my own in a long time too... I will try it out myself (in Dec) if anyone is still interested in registering and using Iple. That's all I can do right now, sorry everyone V____V

Q: Why can't I add (insert Celebrity's name here) as a friend?

A: If you get a message saying that, it's probably because they disabled the option. AS FAR AS I KNOW, YOU CANNOT ADD CELEBRITIES AS FRIENDS!!!

Q: I can't see anything when I tried to go on my/other's iple pages. I get this IE 7 message.

A: What is most likely wrong is you have a pop-up blocker blocking it or your security is blocking it.

Q: I get this message when I try to change my layout format: 모든항목을선택하여 주십시오

A: You bascially have to select items before it will save for you. Want more details? CLICK HERE

Q: How do I add music? Change mini-me's clothes? Background? Navigation bar decorations on Istyle?

A: You have to buy it, unfortunately =(

Q: What are the Candies for?

A: They're for you to trade in so you can participate in the events Iple is holding. More details HERE THE EVENT IS OVER. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ABOUT WHY YOU CAN'T PLAY THE GAME OR PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENTS!

Q: Why doesn't IPLE work when I use Mozilla Firefox?

A:IPLE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FIREFOX. PLEASE USE THE LATEST VERSION OF IE (INTERNET EXPLORER 7)

Q: I still can't open ISTYLE when I use IE? HELP!!!

A: Your Pop-up Blocker might be on. Set your option to 'temporarily allow pop ups'. You can do this by going to Tools in your IE --> a drop down menu appears; go to the tab 'Pop-up Blocker'. (THIS IS FROM THE LATEST VERSION OF IE.)

Q: Why can't I upload my pictures onto my entry/Istyle?

A: Make you sure have ActiveX install when you click on your image uploader. A window should be promt to do this when you first install it and, YES, it's installed ONTO your computer! You can find the files/folder under your Program Files in your hardrive.

Q: Why can't I save/upload my entry?

A: MAKE SURE YOU SELECT A FOLDER FOR YOUR ENTRY TO GO INTO! or at least a category/heading it can go into.

Q: What's the difference between buddies? interested friends?

A: Buddies; these are people that you added that will appear under this drop down menu when you log into your Iple account. It tells you which one one of your buddies updated his/her Istyle. Interested friends are like potential friends.

Q: How can I get more hits?

A: When you are active on your Iple/Istyle by uploading pictures, entries, people commenting, people visiting. Things like that

Q: How do I buy backgrounds or use cash/buy things on Iple?

A: We don't have an answer as to how to do that yet, sorry! ^^;;;

Q: How do I cancel my account? Change sex? Change my ID?

A: Sorry but I don't have the answers to that. I believe to change your ID, you have to buy it.

Q: When I try logging into Iple, I get ERROR: -2?

A: It's the WRONG username and password combination.

Q: How do you use IPLE MESSENGER?

A: Sorry, but I haven't tried it out so I can't help you with that. Sorry.

Q: How come I can't leave a comment/message on someone's iple/guestbook?

A: 1) Either the person disable the option, 2) You have to select a folder for your comment to leave on (in the guestbook), 3) you do not have permission to leave a comment/message

Q: QUESTIONS REGARDING ABOUT FOREIGNERS IPLE CASH, BUYING CLOTHES, ETC.

A: okchoi has generously shared information he/she has received: "However, unfortunately we did not accept foreign credit card yet. We are really sorry about your inconvenience. " MORE INFO. HERE

Q: I forgot my ID/password for my iple account, is there a way to retrieve it? NEW!

A: I don't think there is a way (at least not for foreigners)/ not that I know of.

Q: There is no pop-up telling me to install Active X control? NEW!

A: 1) Make sure you're using IE!!!! and 2) Make sure your pop-up blocker is not turned on (You can do this by going to your IE --> click on Tools --> click on Pop-up Blocker --> Turn off Pop-up Blocker). If all else fails, there might be something wrong with your computer or its settings o_O

Q: If I hide Date of Birth, does that also hide the age too? or is there another setting for age? NEW!

A: Hmmm... I'm not too certain myself... but I think DOB and age is hidden seperately? Sorry >___<

Q: How can I earn cash at iple? NEW!

A: I have no idea... is there a way to earn cash? O_o? If you mean buying cash, refer to question above please.

Q: So what exactly is Iple? is it like the stars' webpage? NEW!

A: If you're familiar with Korea's popular Cyworld, Iple is similar to that. In other words, Iple is similar to MySpace, MyFriends or LiveJournal? It's basically a webpage that you created online, you can blog, list your activities, share videos on your page, upload photos, add friends, have people leave messages for you (if you set the option to public), there are many other functions which I will not go into details. But that is basically what Iple is. If you're wondering what are the advantages? Well for one, to answer the second part of your question, yes stars have them, so stars/celeb like DBSK, SUJU, Boa, etc. has their own Iple and you can see their Iple and leave messages for them when you have an Iple account. There is also this function call Iple Messenger (which I have not tried myself), it enables you to talk to your Iple friends (like MSN, Yahoo messenger, etc.). So that's basically what it is. I hope that answers your question.

Q: What is 친구만 작성 가능합니다? NEW!

A: It means you have to be friends with that person in order to continue your action.

Q: My email's too long for the registration thing. NEW!

A: Hmmm... that hasn't happen yet but I suggest you use a shorter email account if you have one, or just create one to sign up for Iple =P

Q: Is there a way to see if someone is online or not even if they are not on your friends list? NEW!

A: I believe you have to be friends with them in order to see that. Sorry

Q: Can we see wheather certain celebrities are online/offline? NEW!

A: Like the answer above, I don't believe you can and I'm sure for them, there is a way to disable that option but only for them =P

Q: What is 포샵 ucc 올리기??? NEW!

A: It means UCC has loaded, I think that's the photo uploading function/program

REGISTERING AN ACCOUNT

Go to IPLE.COM.

Since majority of the people have the common question when signing up for an account. Below are screencaps to walk you through it completely.

1. Fill Out Everything on the page.

2. Remember that button next to ID box? That gray/grey button that says 'Check Availablity of this ID'? CLICK IT. IF IT'S APPROVED, you get something like the bottom screencap. ^^b If not, try again with another ID ^^

3. When you get that pop-up box, click the gray/grey bar; 'Continue to registration with this ID'

4. Fill out everything and click 'I agree'. You should get the bottom screencap.

Click on the 2nd tab on the navigation menu (the one with the symbol that looks like a tv)

UPLOADING PICTURES+EDITING YOUR PICTURES

This is the tutorial where you want to either add pictures to your written entry or you want to add pictures that will show up on your homepage ^^

IT IS BEST TO HAVE GOOD INTERNET SPEED WHEN YOU DO THIS. IT MAY TAKE LONGER TIME TO LOAD SOMETIMES WHEN YOU UNDO AND ADD THINGS ON. ^^

When you click on that, there should be a box that either asks you to install something. Install it and then try again

Once it's loaded, another box will open up. Keep in mind that during this whole proces, that 100% loaded box will still be on.

On the right panel, you will see those hearts and things and some other tabs. That's how Junsu decorated his picture ^^ Just click on each one (each one does something different. If I remember correctly, the first one changes the color (so black and white like Minnie did to his picture), the second one is the hearts and stuff, 3rd is text, 4th; I haven't try out yet, 5th one is the stamps (so you will find like crowns, wings, etc.). and the last one shows you the options you can add to your picture so like HD screen affect, etc.) Just play around with it ^^

This is also how you can add pictures that will show up at your homepage (the fist tab on the main menu with the little hut/house symbol) because I haven't figured out another way yet.

Ohhh I got several times too. What's wrong is either it IS too long or it contain things that shouldn't be there. If it's checking for ID availability, it should pop back up saying either the ID is taken or ID is available. You can try doing that at the bottom of the page. ^^ there should be a button that says Check for ID Availablility. Hope this helps ^^;

Make sure you are using Internet Explorer when going on Iple. Especially when signing up.

Candies: You're talking about the candies icon on the page when you log in right? the one either below or above the cash icon right? I think that stands for how many people you added or how many people (you added) added you back.

SM Artist: There are artists from SM there and there are also other users but for the I-style that you click on, it shows the SM family in an organized manner ^^

Heaven 09, you have to "buy" the skin from I.ple. I don't think foreigners can buy the skins because you need to send money to I.ple for a certain amount of money. Or maybe you can but I wouldn't know how... ^^;; And besides, you can only use the skin for 3-6 weeks anyway, so...

neferteenie, the candies are for buying UCCs (I have a slight idea to what that is but not for certain... -____-; And you get them by using I.ple a lot. For example, posting an entry, getting 100 hits on your mini-hompy, leaving a comment on someone's mini-hompy... Things like that...

If you try pressing the "go" button without checking if your ID is available or not I don't think you can press the "go" button.

Not 1OO% sure if that is the problem your asking about or not.
