Korean Skin Care Secret?

Humid climate does help you to have good skin, but not significantly. I really think it's matter of whether you use skin care product and what kind you use.If you can understand Korean, watch this: http://youtu.be/lYGNQBFVvWMFor those who can not understand, I would just summarize key parts he was talking of. The show is called Live TV General Hospital, subject is about anti-aging. The dermatologist is basically saying that women feel aging around 20s, but their body aging on average starts or before at age 25. Naturally random part of your body's skin to become no good as you age. He also mention skin aging increases due to the environment. The environment he talks of is expose to UV ray. The body that you expose to UV ray take several damage causing skin aging.
I don't know if you guys know this, but UV ray is not just limited to sun. Some of the CFL bulbs we use for light or fluorescent lights at office/school/public buildings, and etc. all have UV ray. As for the sunscreen, I think  you should consider using sunblock in combination of using daily skincare product at night. Using sunscreen does not help your skin aging from UV ray. The article here tells difference between sun screen and sun block. http://chemistry.about.com/od/howthingsworkfaqs/f/sunscreen.htmThe sun screen helps prevent sun burn/tan, but does not prevent from skin from having cancer or aging. Korean use product like this http://www.nuaveworld.com/product.php?id_product=84 in combination of sunblock/sunscreen. It's a BB cream. Back then it did wonders of just covering face like foundation and whitening skin. Now, it has spf for sun protection, wrinkle prevention, and skin whitening. This BB cream is great if you are going to use with either sunblock or sunscreen since it has egf.

I'm Korean and am lucky enough to have zero acne and no oiliness or dryness on my face.
Part of this is because of genetics -- my mom never really had acne growing up.
But like a lot of Koreans, I take care of my skin and have a skincare routine that I follow every day. I make sure to keep my skin moisturized and ALWAYS take my makeup off at the end of the day. I also wear sunscreen on a daily basis (no matter what the weather is like) and I don't touch my face if I don't have to.
Diet also has something to do with it, but being a Korean American, I don't always stick to a purely Korean diet.
I think it's a little odd that people think that Koreans have nice skin because of climate and water. Really, it comes down to how much effort you put into taking care of your skin, and ultimately, genetics. There are Koreans who spend hundreds of dollars and countless hours trying to rid their faces of acne but their genetics just get in the way of clear skin.

haha you can buy korean skin care stuff online. imomoko.com, nuaveworld.com, lunabeauty.com, mikanjan.com.All depends on your budget though. Any typical skin care products that are around $20 are good for short term and good for younger age group. On average at age 25 for women, you reach your skin's peak. After that your skin quality drops. Key ingredients you should look for when you get skincare is like ceramide and peptide. Especially peptide is good preventing or lowering skin aging. I mean look at this girl, she's about mid 30s, but looks like she's mid 20s.

Unlike US brands, most of Korean skincare products contains medical herbs and ginseng extracts. Their secret formula raises up your skin's water level(Yin) and lowers down fire level(Yang). InYang Balancer is one of my favorite toners. Once you use it, you can't live with out it.

people say i have good skin, even back in high school a lot of girls would sigh and say stuff like how they wish they could have skin like mine.
but i never really do anything special, everytime i have a bug bite on my cheek or somthign i pop it instantly lol i rarely get pimples but when i do i pop those too!
i thought it was just me but then i noticed that i do somthing very often that most other people dont. i wash my face.
i mean i wash my face ALL the time cuz i think it feels nice and refreshing. i dont use heavy products or anything just a TINY rub of bar soap and rub my face for just a second and wash it off. i do this often and sometimes no soap just water.
i told some people and girls could never get it down since they wear make up a lot, but one girl actually took my word on it and stopped putting make up on and now her face looks as good naturally as when she had make up on.
lots of guys have followed this instruction and have good skin now.
also, try not to touch your face too much, it looks a little weak anyways so just be confident and dont touch your face, and wash it often.

I think people shouldn't discount the climate or humidity...when i was back in asia for a mth (not korea, Shanghai, singapore, malaysia, cambodia and thailand) my skin improved immensely...and i don't normally have bad skin to begin with, it's just, every tiny little blemish just sorta left....i came home with crystal clear skin and about 1 mth into Vancouver climate, i have little bumps again :(

Hi, I am korean so maybe you would think my answer is somewhat valuable? Honestly I have to say I was born with pretty good skin, I could eat all the foods I want and I still wouldn't break out. But now after college it has been slowing down so I have to be more careful of the intake of foods. But as a korean, we have some things that we know about skincare that's probably shared among other races too. First off, everyone in korea (well..almost) has nearly flawless, glowing skin. It's because of the humidity (your pores are constantly flushed out). Most koreans are extremely pale too because the pollution blocks out the sun and so it's sometimes hard to get direct sunlight like in Seoul or other big cities. Korean girls are always talking about skin and it is a huge deal so many also go to skin clinics to get massages and treatments. I live in CA and personally I don't really think American Spas are as ... skin focused as Korean spas are. Being in LA, I have access to korean skincare products such as Laneige and other famous companies. Those products often have specific ingredients that (in my opinion) help Asian skins. Trust me, I've tried almost every product in American stores but as of now the only true effective non-korean brand is Clinique. And finally, the last thing, the foods that we eat are extremely healthy. Sure there is junk food and stuff but Korean foods mainly consist of a wide variety of vegetables, seafood, meat (only a moderate amount though), and some different stuff like roots etc. We eat a lot of stuff Americans don't eat such as seaweed blah blah and I know that controlling the food really gives you fast results on skin. I hope this helped somewhat~

hmmm well i'm korean and my dad's whole side of the family has PERFECT skin (awesome genes^^) my mom didn't have good skin as a teenager but she is OBSESSED with skincare and spends hundreds, possibly thousands on it. i live in america though so she can't do the laser things that most women and celebs do in korea unless we are there, but she gets facials every month or so. her skin is beautiful. my whole family has really pale/white skin but i play a lot of outdoor sports so im kind of darker haha. my brother only does indoor sports and i wish i had his skin tone :(
anywho, the koreans you see with flawless skin either wear bbcream, get treatments, or have really amazing genes (i see that a lot too) but it was on like some nate pan (korean forum) that IU and tiffany got these vitamin injections i think this vitamin c thing that made them really pale too. and they also have the skin treatments that their company pays for....and a lottttt of makeup. most women i know have these kind of things done.i use SKII and its a reaaaaally good brand. ive also heard history of whoo is wicked good (: but when im in korea a lot of people in their teens and random old tourists are always swarming etude house, missha, etc.

I know a lot of Asian women like to layer their skincare products and can use many different types of serums, masks and toners etc. It also has to do with your diet and many other factors. Like many other soompiers said, Korean women take great pride in taking care of their skin and often use BB cream. BB cream can definitely make your skin look flawless if you don't have any bumps and acne!

im not korean but i used to have terrible skin. Iv had sever acne since i was 10 (i know super early) and have only now started having clearer skin. I can honestly say since i have been using korean products, my face has cleared up, but i have also been taking medication and seeing a specialist, so im sure that has probably made more of a considerable effect.

I have changed my diet though, i eat alot more fruist and veggies, and try to drink alot of water. I hate water though so i drink green tea atleast 3 times a day without sugar or milk and since iv been doing that i havent had one blemish.

I always wash, tone and moisturise my face, and do home masks once a week as well as expholiate. So far this has been working for me, and i urge everyone else to find some regime and stick with it, thats the only way you will see results.

I don't really know the "korean" way to achieving smooth and soft complexion. However, how I managed to go about doing it was basically taking 1 fish oil supplment, 1 zinc supplement, 1 primrose supplement and 1 vit c tablet a day along with soap free cleanser , witch hazel toner and moisturising moisturiser.
Also, try to drink at least 8 cups of water through out the day

I think the keys here are genetics (only a small part), eating the right kinds of food (lots of fruits and vegetables), avoiding the sun whenever possible and wearing sunscreen, and also get enough sleep each night. And I find that Korean really emphasize in moisturizing their skin and not using things that strip their skin of its natural oil such as chemical peels.
