Baek Ji Young not only made a successful comeback but also won several awards in this year's year-end music awards like the "Best Female Singer" in Mnet KM's Music Festival, popularity awards in the "2006 Golden Disk Awards" and "16th Seoul Music Awards" and "Artist of the Year" in the "2006 SBS Music Awards".

hello everyone, sorry i've been sick the past week, i had a flu so i wasn't able to update much, but here's some recent news, although it's been a couple of days.

[baek Ji Young Attends Actress Jung Da Bin's Funeral]

On the 11th of February at 5pm, singer Baek Ji Young attended actress, Jung Da Bin's funeral. Still shocked and devastated, by the young actress's death, who starred in Baek Ji Young's music video 'Sarang Ahn Hae' last year, Baek tried to hold back the tears, but soon began to cry, after talking and crying with fellow attendant.

I, myself was shocked when i heard about the sad news, i still can't believe it, she was such a cheerful and happy person...i cried after watching a special coverage of Jung's funeral service on t.v... she had a long way to go; the future...why is it that so many stars are dying? it's so sad...i guess being a celebrity is real tough, with all the pressure and all, she was so young...may she rest in peace...

^ Baek Ji Young started her singing career with latin/salsa music genres, like, 'Sun Tek' and 'Sad Salsa' she was popular for quite some time, when her career went downhill, when supposedly a sex video leaked out into the media about her sleeping with her manager. After two years or so, Baek made a come back with her 3rd [Tres], and in 2004, her 4th album [smile], but still her come back wasn't strong enough and didn't recieve much popularity. Then, just last year, in 2006, the singer launched her 5th album [smile Again] and made a successful comeback after six, long years. Soon, her popularity shot up again. She won various awards, including the M.Net award for 'Best Female Soloist of 2006', and soon began to appear on various t.v. show programs, like 'X-Men'. So I guess she's one lucky person, she's a very talented singer, in my opinion.

Singers Baek Ji Young and Wax will perform wedding songs for dance choreographer, Hong Young Joo, at her wedding, on March 17th at 3:30 pm. BJY and Hong Young Joo have been working together for almost 7 years now, the choreographer has choreographed almost all of Baek's hit songs including, 'Dash', 'Sad Salsa', 'Triangle', 'Choo-Rak', 'Sun Taek', and most recent, 'Ez Do Dance', and has also choreographed dance moves for singers, such as, Park Jin Young's 'Don't Leave Me', Wax, Space-A, Kim Hyun Jung, Duke, Cool, and many more.

Baek Ji Young attended dance choreographer Hong Young Joo's wedding on the 17th. She sang a wedding song for the newly-weds, Hong Young Joo & Kim Tae Suk congratulating them, titled "I Love You" by Han Dong Jun. While singing the song, she began to cry tears of joy. Along with BJY, singer Wax congratulated the couple by performing a song as well. BJY and Hong Young Joo have known each other for a long time, they are very close friends. HYJ has choreographed most of Baek's songs. "I feel like I'm sending my own daughter away to her wedding. I couldn't get any sleep last night," said the singer. BJY even wrote on her homepage, "Time flies...although we may both age together, our friendship will never age..." Seeing her choreographer and friend wed, the singer added with both happiness and a tinge of envy, "Now that she's a man's lady(?), makes me feel as if i'm sending her away. I think that's what every single woman might feel", said Baek. The newly-weds, Hong Young Joo and Kim Tae Suk met through a friend in January.

[baek Ji Young-2006's Luck, One More Time] 03.23.07

The singer, once again, hopes for the luck of 2006 this year. Baek Ji Young (31) is planning to release her new album in May, as did her previous album. Although Baek has not revealed the concept of the new album, it might be similiar to that of the 5th album. Her 5th album, 'Smile Again' back in 2006, Baek came back with a ballad concept, title song "I Won't Love'. Also, she showed her sexiness in "Ez Do Dance". Along with the two hits, Baek had received numerous awards, and appeared in many award shows, such as, the 'Seoul Gayo Dae Sang', 'MNET KM Music Festival', 'SBS Gayo Dae Sang', and many more.

Baek is also planning to release three more albums. Making her successful come back after 2 years, the singer's popularity has risen greatly.
