I've seen Will's and his son's guesting in Oprah, and they talked about the movie...it looked impressive. They also had the real Gardner as a guest and his story's really compelling...can't help but to be wowed. I'll have to watch this in the matinee showing coz I think I'll be shedding a tear or two and I can't wear sunglasses at night :D

I wanted to be blown away with earth shattering inspiration - and because of that, I suppose I expected too much out of this movie. Although there were moments of devastating inspiration and although the circumstances that arose in almost obliterating the American dream of happiness time and time again were heartfelt, I just wasn't completely satisfied with the movie. It left me somewhat disappointed. The movie pursued to be something wonderful and although the potential was there, it never actually succeeds.

I must say that Will Smith's son was adorable. He really made the movie.

I saw the movie and liked it :D ...It had some great moments in it and some bland one's as well...but overall don't expect to much from this movie... and just enjoy it for what it is really about a fathers love for his son...Keep in mind it's only a movie!

This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Will Smith is such an amazing actor. I cannot believe he pulled it off, I mean Will Smith as a homeless guy? But it worked. And that scene in the office at the end of the movie made me cry so much. I was crying with him.

It's such an amazing, inspirational movie.

One teeny thing that made me cringe in this movie was when Will Smith and his son were standing in line to get shelter for the night, a flashy open car went by with these rich white teenagers shrieking and laughing. It was so stereotypical and wasn't really necessary, I don't know if anyone else noticed it.

Other than that, AMAZING MOVIE.

I gotta read the book now.

That part really happen in real life to the person that the movie is based on...So, it was not stereotypical it was just a horrible truth that happen and need to be put in the movie...

oh man I saw this movie last night and it was brilliant! It was so hard to watch b/c I felt like having a mental breakdown for Will Smith's chracter every time something happened to him and his son. And OMG that HIPPIE! Sheesh I really, really, really wanted to punch her in the face! :fury: Oh, and I knew the guy at the end of the movie had to be the real guy. I wonder if he ever got back together with his wife later on once he got some good money. According to wiki it says he has two kids now. Maybe it says it in the book? Either way, he must be the most awesome dad in the world. Definitely go see this movie people.

And I was so in love with the fact that the little boy is Will Smith's real son. I remember when he was promoting that Muhammed Ali movie(I think?) on Oprah and he was like 2 years old and just walked on stage. So cute! Hope to see more father son acts, I'd die of cavities.
