The drama Cashero tells the story of a superhero named Kang Sang Woong and other ordinary superheroes who protect ordinary people's daily lives. He is the newest heir to the superpowers and he gains more strength the more cash he has.

Character descriptions

Kang Sang-Woong (Lee Joon Ho) appears like an ordinary man. He works as a public servant at a community center and dreams of owning his own home. Yet, Kang Sang-Woon somehow possesses a supernatural power. He doesn't know how or why he got his power, which is superhuman strength. His power also relies on the amount of cash he possesses. He becomes super strong when he has cash and after he uses his strength, his cash goes away. He always struggles to have enough cash to use his power.

 

Kim Min-Sook (Kim Hye Jun) is a realistic person who prioritizes efficiency and she also has a talent for numbers. She is surprised about her boyfriend’s supernatural power. She also sees his power as being inefficient due to the need to spend his own money, yet she supports him more than anyone.

 

Byeon Ho-In (Kim Byung Chul) works as a lawyer and his supernatural power is activated when he drinks alcohol. He is also the self appointed chief of a Korean organization for people with supernatural powers. The purpose of the organization is to fight against a criminal association who hunts down people with supernatural powers. Byeon Ho-In recognizes Kang Sang-Woong's extraordinary abilities and suggests that they should work together to save the world.

 

Bang Eun-Mi (Kim Hyang Gil) is a young woman with a telekinetic power that is fueled by how much calories she eats. Her favorite food is bread and her power comes from mostly the bread that she eats. She is a reliable colleague to Kang Sang-Woong and Byeon Ho-In. These people struggle to protect their normal lives against villains who are trying to throw the world into chaos.

2PM's Lee Jun Ho will possibly make his official debut in Netflix's original K-Dramas!

On July 13th, media outlets reported that Lee Jun Ho will finally lead his first-ever Netflix original K-drama titled Cashero. 

Lee Jun Ho's agency JYP Entertainment shared their response through the media outlet SPOTV News. According to the agency, Lee Jun Ho did receive the offer to star in the new Netflix series and the idol actor is currently reviewing it. 

Cashero will base its story on a webtoon of the same name. It will tell the story of a superhero named Kang Sang Woong and other ordinary superheroes who protect ordinary people's daily lives. He is the newest heir to the superpowers and he gains more strength the more cash he has. 

Lee Jun Ho got the offer to play the role of Kang Sang Woong, the protagonist of the K-drama. 

Meanwhile, there are no other details revealed yet regarding the broadcast date, production team, and other casts that will possibly join Lee Jun Ho in Cashero.

 

 

Lee Jun Ho is currently starring in the hit K-drama King the Land with Im Yoon Ah, Go Won Hee, Kim Ga Eun, Ahn Se Ha, and Kim Jae Won.

Kim Hyang Gi will reportedly work alongside 2PM's Lee Jun Ho in the upcoming K-drama Cashero.

According to an exclusive report of media outlet Star News on August 10th, Kim Hyang Gi has been offered to be the female lead of the upcoming Netflix original K-drama Cashero. Previously, it was reported that Lee Jun Ho is also positively reviewing the upcoming series. 

If Kim Hyang Gi confirms her casting, this will be her second upcoming K-drama. She will also lead the new series Secret Playlist together with Shin Hyun Seung and Yeon Oh. 

This year, Kim Hyang Gi starred in Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist Season 2. She worked alongside Kim Min Jae, Kim Sang Kyung, Kang Young Seok, Woo Da Vi, and Ahn Chang Hwan. 

Kim Hyang Gi is also set to star in various upcoming movies such as Along With the Gods 3 and It's Okay to Just Breathe Next to You.

Junho pays to save the world as Netflix’s Cashero

Netflix announced that a new team of superheroes is on their way to dramaland, with Junho (King the Land) suiting up for a wacky fantasy-action as our titular character Cashero.

While we all understand that money means power, our ordinary and stalwart Cashero (Junho) – a.k.a. Kang Sang-woong – is ironically cursed blessed with a gift (and alias) that takes the adage very literally. You see, our hero can wield super strength, but the power level depends on the amount of money he holds in his hand – which then disappears after he uses that strength. It would have been quite nice if Sang-woong was a chaebol king. But alas, he’s not actually made of money and his bank account dwindles whenever the world needs saving.

 

Thankfully, though, Sang-woong has help from Kim Hye-joon (A Shop for Killers) playing his long-time girlfriend Kim Min-sook. Ever the pragmatist, Min-sook is particularly adept when it comes to numbers and instinctively started plugging the math when she’s first told about Sang-woong’s powers. But despite thinking that it’s not the most sensible idea – especially considering all the money it requires – Min-sook wholeheartedly encourages her boyfriend and will always be Cashero’s biggest supporter.

Already, there’s so much to unpack with social commentary in this short set-up. But it gets even better with the second lead roles. Kim Byung-chul’s (Doctor Cha) character is Byun Ho-in (meaning “lawyer” in Korean) who – surprise, surprise – is a super lawyer, but his abilities only activate when he’s drinking alcohol. As the self-designated head of Korea’s Superpower Association, Ho-in enlists Cashero to join the battle against our story’s ~mysterious~ criminal group.

Last but not least, the main foursome also includes Kim Hyang-gi (Secret Playlist) in the role of the fearless Bang Eun-mi. Her nickname is Bbang-mi (as in “bread”), which is similar enough to her name. But of course it’s also because bread is the fuel for our gruff and tough heroine’s fighting power, making her another worthy member of our oddball super team.

The upcoming Netflix K-drama Cashero revealed its star-studded cast list on Thursday, April 18, 2024. The series includes popular stars Lee Jun-Ho, Kim Hye-Jun, Kim Hyang-Gi, and Kim Byung-Chul. The drama’s central storyline revolves around an ordinary civil servant, Kang Sang-Woong (Lee Jun-Ho), who possesses the special ability to gain as much strength as the amount of cash he has with him.

Based on the Kakao webtoon of the same name, Cashero promises an interesting and engaging storyline alongside a talented cast. Director Lee Chang-Min of Welcome to Waikiki fame helms the series. Meanwhile, Lee Je-In and Cheon Chan-Ho serve as the screenwriters of the upcoming Netflix K-drama. Other than Lee Jun-Ho, the rest of the cast also has interesting storylines. As of now, no release date or timeline has been announced.

Netflix’s upcoming K-drama Cashero is a superhero series that follows the story of Kang Sang-Woong (Lee Jun-Ho), an ordinary government employee. However, he has a unique ability to gain as much strength as the cash he holds. His dream is to own his own home, but his life turns upside down after accidentally inheriting the supernatural ability. The series will portray his struggles as he loses money after losing his ability. Lee Jun-Ho was most recently seen in the popular K-drama King The Land.

Meanwhile, Kim Hye-Jun, who recently showcased her acting prowess in the Disney Plus K-drama A Shop for Killers, plays the role of Kang Sang-Woong’s longtime girlfriend, Kim Min-Sook. She is an extremely realistic and analytical person who prioritizes efficiency over everything else. She holds an extraordinary ability and talent for numbers. Although she believes Sang-Woong’s abilities to be inefficient, she continues to support him.

Kim Byung-Chul, known for his appearances in popular K-dramas like SKY Castle, Descendants of the Sun, and more, will essay the role of lawyer Byun Ho-In. Interestingly, his supernatural abilities take action when he drinks alcohol. As the head of the Korean Association of Supernatural People, he battles against a mysterious criminal organization that attacks people with superpowers.

 

Lastly, Kim Hyang-Gi plays the role of Bang Eun-Mi, a woman whose supernatural telekinesis abilities get activated based on the number of calories she consumes. She is fearless and slightly indifferent, but she remains a loyal friend to Sang-Woong and Ho-In. Kim Hyang-Gi is popular for her roles in Moment At Eighteen, Poong- The Joseon Psychiatrist, and more.

Kang Han Na Confirmed To Join Cast Of New Superhero Drama "Cashero"

Kang Han Na has been confirmed to join the cast for the star-studded new drama “Cashero“!

 

On May 21, industry insiders reported that Kang Han Na will star in “Cashero” along with Lee Junho, Kim Hye Joon, Kim Hyang Gi, and Kim Byung Chul.

 

In response to the report, Kang Han Na’s agency KEYEAST confirmed, “It is true that Kang Han Na will star in ‘Cashero.'”

 

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Cashero” is a superhero series that follows the story of ordinary government employee Kang Sang Woong (Lee Junho), who earns the special ability to gain as much strength as the cash he holds, causing him to empty his wallet to save the world.

 

Kang Han Na is reportedly offered to play the role of Joanna, the daughter of a chaebol family. She is a villain character that was not present in the original webtoon.

 

Currently, the actress is starring in JTBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Frankly Speaking.”

Kang Ha Na confirmed to reunite with 2PM's Lee Jun Ho in "Cashero"

Kang Han Na is confirmed to join the upcoming fantasy action Netflix K-drama Cashero starring 2 PM's Lee Jun Ho.

On May 21, media outlets reported that Kang Han Na will join the star-studded cast of the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama Cashero.

Kang Han Na's agency KeyEast also confirmed the reports. According to the agency, "Kang Han Na will be joining the cast of the K-drama Cashero." The agency, however, declined to comment on the role of Kang Han Na in the series. 

The actress is currently starring in the JTBC K-drama Frankly Speaking with Go Kyung Pyo, Joo Jong Hyuk, Shin Jung Keun, Kang Ae Shim, and Hwang Sung Bin. 

Kang Han Na is known for being part of the K-dramas Bloody Heart, Bite Sisters, My Roommate Is a Gumiho, Start-Up, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and more. 

This upcoming K-drama will be the reunion of Kang Han Na and Lee Jun Ho after almost seven years. The two worked together in the 2017 K-drama Just Between Lovers.

 

 

Lee Jun Ho, Kim Hye Joon. Kim Byung Chul, Kim Hyang Gi, Lee Chae Min, and Kim Ji Ahn will lead the upcoming K-drama Cashero. 

Cashero will tell the stories of ordinary superheroes who protect ordinary people's daily lives. The K-drama will showcase the life of a superhero named Kang Sang Woong who has gained superpowers through the cash in his hand. He decided to save the world by spending everything he had. The series will be based on a webtoon of the same name written by Lee Hoon and illustrated by No Hye Ok.

According to reports, Kang Han Na got the offer to portray the villain character in the series which was not originally in the webtoon. She will possibly act as Joanna, the daughter of a conglomerate family. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director  Lee Chang Min ( Agency, Monthly Magazine Home, and Eulachacha Waikiki) and writers Jeon Chan Ho and Lee Je In.

Cashero will reportedly premiere in 2025 and will exclusively air on Netflix.
