Jun 11, 2024

Upcoming Disney+ original series “Red Swan” has unveiled a suspenseful main trailer!

“Red Swan” depicts the story of Oh Wan Soo (Kim Ha Neul), who dreams of a perfect life of the upper class society and marries the heir of Hwain Group. She encounters the secret of the Hwain family when she meets her bodyguard Seo Do Yoon (Rain), who always stands by her side. The drama will be directed by Park Hong Kyun, the director of “Hwayugi,” “The Greatest Love,” and “The Great Queen Seon Deok,” and it will be written by Choi Yoon Jung, the writer of “Only Love,” “Three Sisters,” and “The Person I Love.”

The main trailer unfolds with the opulent mansion of the Hwain Group family, introducing its affluent members. Seo Do Yoon, clad in police attire, is shown alongside his colleague. Seo Do Yoon’s anguished cry of “Joo Hyuk!” pierces through, setting a gripping tone for the trailer.

The teaser introduces key members of the Hwain Group, including Kim Yong Guk (Jung Gyu Woon), Park Mi Ran (Seo Yi Sook), and Han Sang Il (Yoon Je Moon). Rain stands by Kim Haneul in Disney+’s Red Swan

by tccolb

Waltzing us into Disney+’s upcoming action-melo Red Swan, the first teaser follows leads Kim Haneul (Nothing Uncovered) and Rain (Ghost Doctor) as they’re sunk into the mysteries surrounding the ~illustrious~ Hwa-in Group.

Casting a veneer of grandeur and prestige, the opening sequence is a clear juxtaposition of our chaebol family’s fancy life and the secretive shady dealings that helped them secure their wealth. This leads us to our revenge-minded hero Seo Do-yoon (Rain), a skilled former police officer who witnesses his friend and partner cop Joo-hyuk getting killed.

However, the looming danger has a target on Oh Wan-soo (Kim Haneul) as well, giving Do-yoon the means to enter Hwa-in as Wan-soo’s personal bodyguard. Speaking for the audience, Do-yoon asks, “What kind of people live here exactly?” We then learn that our once pro golfer heroine is the chairwoman of a charity – the Now Foundation – and is married to the Hwa-in heir Jung Kyeo-woon (You’re Too Much).

The fierce Seo Yi-sook (Knight Flower) is the current head of the Hwa-in Group, who is informed by lawyer Yoon Je-moon (Nothing Uncovered) about Do-yoon’s connection to Joo-hyuk. It is here that we learn that the latter died while investigating the death of Hwa-in’s former president. What a coincidence.

For now, though, Do-yoon is preoccupied with protecting a skeptical Wan-soo, explaining that, “Someone tried to kill you. They failed. The person is a professional. If it was me, I would try again.” Our hero also realizes that the culprit has their eyes on Wan-soo’s Now Foundation, which acts as a front for the conglomerate’s slush funds.

As Do-yoon digs deeper, it’s no surprise that there are sleazy secrets hiding behind every corner in Hwa-in and when Wan-soo tries to take a stand, President Park (Seo Yi-sook) lashes out. But Wan-soo does have support from Do-yoon, believing that whoever tried to kill her is the same person who killed Joo-hyuk.

In the final sequence, President Park ruthlessly decides that, “They wield the foundation. If they won’t leave by dying, then we can push them out by killing them.” At the same time, Do-yoon resolves to ensure justice is served, declaring as the teaser ends, “Just wait, I’m going to make sure that they’re punished. The culprit is in this household.”

Directed by PD Park Hong-kyoon (Hwayugi) with scripts penned by Choi Yoon-jung, Disney+’s Red Swan will be launching on July 3.

Rain becomes Kim Haneul’s bodyguard in Red Swan

by lovepark

redswan-teaser-01.jpg

The promotions are rolling for Disney+’s action-melo Red Swan with not just one but four new teasers. The show stars Kim Haneul (Nothing Uncovered) as ex-pro golfer now chaebol family daughter-in-law Oh Wan-soo, and at her side is former police officer turned bodyguard Seo Do-yoon played by Rain (Ghost Doctor).

The first teaser highlights the precarious relationship between the two leads as Do-yoon watches over Wan-soo with concern. He asks her if she’s unhappy, and though she answers in the negative, her expression suggests otherwise. With her life in danger, Wan-soo has no one to trust, but that might change now that Do-yoon has entered the picture and is set on protecting her.

Do-yoon, though, isn’t risking his life for nothing, and his action teaser reveals his ulterior motives for entering the walls of Hwa-in Group. After witnessing the death of his partner while investing chaebol corruption, he vows to uncover what happened, but becoming a bodyguard may pose more danger than expected. Snipers, assassins, and exploding cars await Do-yoon at his new job, but this is only the beginning for our hero.

At the center of all this is Wan-soo who, for reasons unknown, is being targeted. The only one able to save her is Do-yoon, but Wan-soo is unconvinced that someone — especially her family — would hire an assassin to get rid of her. She asks for evidence to back the bold claim, but from the snippets we see of her life, it’s clear that everyone is suspect.

Enter Hwa-in Group — our hero’s target and the cause of our heroine’s problems. At the top is Seo Yi-sook (Knight Flower) as President Park Mi-ran. She launders millions without blinking an eye and buys people’s lives like breathing air. The most likely culprit behind Wan-soo’s current predicament, President Park is more than capable of ordering a hit on someone, and from the way she chucks money at Wan-soo, she clearly treats her daughter-in-law with contempt.

Next in line is Wan-soo’s husband and Hwa-in heir Kim Yong-gook played by Jung Kyeo-woon (You’re Too Much). He wants nothing more than to take over the family business and seems ready to do anything to achieve that goal. Yong-gook maintains a loving relationship with Wan-soo for the cameras, but behind closed doors, his demeanor turns sinister.

Adding to the list of suspects are lawyer Yoon Je-moon (Nothing Uncovered) who seems aware of the happenings within Hwa-in and the ambitious Ki Eun-se who wishes to replace Wan-soo as the face of the group. Of course, there’s no evidence to implicate anyone, and if our heroes want to unmask the culprit, they’ll need to figure out their motive first.

Directed by PD Park Hong-kyoon (Hwayugi) and written by Choi Yoon-jung, Disney+’s Red Swan premieres July 3 and is slated for ten episodes.

Disney+ has shared new stills from its upcoming drama “Red Swan”!

“Red Swan” will tell the story of Oh Wan Soo (Kim Ha Neul), a former golfer who enters high society when she marries the heir of Hwain Group. After her life is threatened due to a fierce battle over succession, Wan Soo comes face-to-face with the Hwain family’s secret due to her bodyguard Seo Do Yoon (Rain).

The newly released stills hint at the fierce conflict between Oh Wan Soo and her mother-in-law Park Mi Ran (Seo Yi Sook), who is the chairwoman of Hwain Group. Wan Soo, who steadfastly defends her place in the greedy and ambitious Hwain family, constantly clashes with Mi Ran, who disapproves of her. From an angry outburst with her hands on her hips to a piercing glare directed at Wan Soo, the stills reveal a glimpse of Mi Ran’s fierce determination to control the Hwain family, hinting at the difficult life Wan Soo will face with her in-laws.

On the other hand, Wan Soo is captured with a calm, determined expression and composed demeanor, leaving viewers eager to see how she will coldly confront Mi Ran’s fiery rage. Despite the toxic atmosphere in the Hwain family, Wan Soo has no intention of backing down, sparking curiosity about whether she can uphold her beliefs to the end and how her story will unfold.

Kim Haneul and Rain fight for a better world in Red Swan

by tccolb

Disney+ has been generously dishing out promos for the action-melo Red Swan, readying us for the angst-ridden chaebol battles in new character posters and a long teaser this week. Like children in a playground, it’s a squabbling war over what’s mine versus yours, but as Kim Haneul (Nothing Uncovered) and Rain (Ghost Doctor) experience firsthand, the stakes – and consequences – are significantly scarier when our power-hungry players also have secrets to hide.

Opening on our heroine in the teaser, Oh Wan-soo (Kim Haneul) proudly introduces herself as South Korea’s goodwill ambassador and chairwoman of a charity foundation. As a former pro-golfer and wife to the Hwa-in Group’s heir, Wan-soo’s fame and public image is marketed as the face of the conglomerate.

Despite being used like a trophy wife, though, Wan-soo is genuine in her pursuit to do good and she’s lauded by the industry for her international business accomplishments. This prompts Seo Yi-sook’s (Knight Flower) President Park Mi-ran to admonish Wan-soo for overstepping, saying, “This isn’t your work to do.” But our heroine firmly defends her stance, stating, “This is my work. I’m going to fight until the end for a better world.”

Flipping on the ~dramatic~ action switch, Wan-soo’s new bodyguard and ex-cop Seo Do-yoon (Rain) next enters the scene, whose real reason for entering Hwa-in is to investigate his friend’s death and sniff out the murderer. Convinced that this same person is now out for Wan-soo’s blood, Do-yoon warns her not to trust others while also vowing to protect her.

Indeed, Wan-soo’s husband Kim Yong-gook – played by Jung Kyeo-woon (You’re Too Much) – is one such distrustful slimeball who claims, “It’s not that I’m not able, I’m just not responsible. Isn’t it natural that I’m like this when I’ve never had to take responsibility for anything in my whole life?” Although he professes to love his wife, he alarmingly yells that she’s “his” and is angered by Wan-soo’s indifference when he’s caught cheating.

President Park is prone to tantrums as well, declaring Hwa-in as “hers” like a toy that can’t be shared. The people around her are calculatingly treated like playthings as well, easily thrown away when they no longer serve her amusement. But while she is the one giving the orders, it falls to Yoon Je-moon (Nothing Uncovered) playing lawyer Han Sang-il to carry them out. It’s unclear how much he’ll dirty his hands, as he does deflect when asked about murder. But he’s clearly displeased by Do-yoon’s presence and the suspicious sequence suggests that Sang-il is at least connected to the culprit Do-yoon is chasing.

Adding fuel to the fire… er… figuratively but maybe literally as well, Ki Eun-se’s (Now We Are Breaking Up) character Jang Tae-ra is determined to upend Wan-soo’s life and make it hers. She certainly is something, having the gall to demand that Wan-soo get divorced. What our heroine should do is a different discussion, but it is a little satisfying to hear Tae-ra being told to stay a concubine, followed by President Park’s scream for Tae-ra to scram.

As the teaser comes to a close, we watch as Wan-soo finally lets her guard down with our hero, admitting that, “My marriage was already in ruins. Since a long time ago. This place is hell.” Do-yoon then leaves us with the question of what Wan-soo is trying to protect and whether it’s worth risking her life, and Wan-soo reveals her resolve to stand by her charity foundation.

Helmed by PD Park Hong-kyoon (Hwayugi) with scripts written by Choi Yoon-jung, Disney+’s Red Swan will be premiering next week on July 3.
