~ In 'Brilliant Legacy', gained "people"

For 'Brilliant Legacy', in terms of ratings, it garnered fantastic results which were difficult to be repeated.However, compared with the drama itself, what's more important is that I've gained Seung Gi and Chae Won, these few precious same age friends. The opportunities to work with seniors are in the majority, but it's really rare to be with same age friends. Growing together with me, in togetherness making the story line very substantial, I'm truly thankful. Being actor colleagues, the feeling is very different. They're friends whom I wish to give my support to, in no matter what they do from now on. 

Ah! The last time Seung Gi also talked a little about me in his interview right? Shall I match it, try to match it? 

Although I'm putting it this way, how can there be such a thing? My viewpoint is also the same, working hard together. Of course, Seung Gi was also in a nervous state at that time. However, looking at his dramas now, he's really very good. in 'The King 2 Hearts', he shone brightly and '구가의 서' was also very interesting.

The cast of 'Brilliant Legacy', we're the type who meet twice a year. We also got together at the beginning of the year. After the premiere of 'Love 911' (A South Korean movie which Han Hyo Joo starred in), I even said to Seung Gi, "Should we work together once again?". Seung Gi also thought that it's a good idea and even debated over this with me. If there's a chance next time, I would like to work on a project together once more. According to statistics released by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), ‘Cold Eyes’ attracted 499,545 ticket admissions for July 7th, and brought its total accumulated admissions to 1,784,168.

‘Cold Eyes’ had been highly anticipated even prior to its premiere on July 3rd, and they had even brought forward their premiere by one day to accommodate their fans. ‘Cold Eyes’ easily ascended to the top of the box office on its opening days and had many highlights that fans were looking out for. Among them was Jung Woo Sung’s first attempt at being a villain, Han Hyo Joo transformation into an actor star, Sol Kyung Gu’s solid acting, and 2PM’s Junho making his big screen debut.

Hollywood movie ‘World War Z’ led by Brad Pitt who also had a hand in producing it, managed to draw 220,167 ticket admissions for yesterday, and bringing its total admissions thus far to 4,277,823. This movie also marks Brad Pitt’s best performance among his works in South Korea.

‘Lone Ranger’ (Sony Pictures Walt Disney Studios Korea) which was led by Johnny Depp and his ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ staff, attracted 76,664 admissions, and brought its total admissions to 2,510,777 thus far.

‘Killer Toon’ which starred Lee Si Young and directed by Kim Young Kyoon drew 64,006 ticket admissions on July 7th, and bringing its total admissions thus far to 871,209. It also became the highest grossing horror movie of the year thus far, and is on course to break the million mark.

With the popularity of ‘Cold Eyes’, we are looking forward to seeing how upcoming movie ‘Mister Go’ will fare at the cinemas when it begins airing from July 17th.

Cold Eyes doesn't blink at box office

Cold Eyes 감시자들, the South Korean remake of Hong Kong thriller Eye in the Sky 跟蹤 (2007), had a 51.4% market share of its domestic box office yesterday.

In the film, HAN Hyo-ju 한효주 | 韓孝珠, plays a new female recruit with perfect memory who joins the South Korean police force's Special Crime Department, which specialises in surveillance.

Co-directed by CHO Eui-seok 조의석 and director of photography KIM Byeong-seo 김병서 | 金丙書, the cast includes popular actors SEOL Gyeong-gu 설경구 | 薛景求 and JEONG U-seong 정우성 | 鄭雨成.

In five days, including limited previews, the police thriller has sold 1,784,157 tickets for a box office gross of ￦13.1 billion (US$11.3 million). Produced by Zip Cinema Co Ltd 영화사 집, it is distributed by Next Entertainment World ＮＥＷ.

Over the three-day weekend, second-placed World War Z added ￦4.72 billion (US$4.10 million), for a current gross of ￦31.8 billion (US$27.6 million) on 4.28 million admissions since opening 20 Jun.

Gore VERBINSKI 's The Lone Ranger , released on Thursday, has made only ￦1,83 billion (US$1.59 million) in four days with just 251,777 admissions. It's daily market share has remained below 10%.

Still on release, South Korean spy action-comedy Secretly Greatly 은밀하게 위대하게 has now taken ￦48.0 billion (US$41.6 million) since opening on 5 Jun with 6.86 million admissions.

Hong Kong thrillers have become a source of high-concept ideas for South Korean movies. A Better Tomorrow 무적자 (2010) was a remake of the John WOO 吳宇森 classic. CHOI Dong-hoon 최동훈 | 崔東勳 has reportedly picked up remake rights of Overheard 竊聽風雲 (2009).

In Hong Kong, Eye in the Sky made HK$4.14 million (US$534,000) after 25 days in cinemas. On simultaneous release in China, it made approximately double that

New Korean action flick “Cold Eyes” caught a number of Korean moviegoers’ eyes over the weekend, putting an end to two weeks’ reign of Brad Pitt’s “World War Z.”

The crime action movie made an impressive debut atop the Korean weekend box office with over 1.34 million admissions during the weekend of July 6 to 7, according to the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) Monday.

Co-starring beloved movie stars Seol Kyung-ku, Jung Woo-sung and Han Hyo-joo, K-pop idol Junho of 2PM made a successful big screen debut with “Cold Eyes,” centering around a special surveillance task force in the police trying to round up a mythical criminal.

Hollywood zombie blockbuster “World War Z,” the movie’s hero Brad Pitt’s self-produced feature, slid down to the No. 2 spot on the box office after drawing in over 630,000 cinemagoers during the same time frame.

Barely making it into third place was Johnny Depp’s new family action adventure “The Lone Ranger,” which attracted some 200,000 audiences on opening weekend.

Accordingly, Korean horror pic “Killer Toon” fell to fourth place with some 190,000 tickets sold, and Kim Soo-hyun’s box office hit “Secretly Greatly” rounded off the top five after more than 110,000 moviegoers watched it over the weekend.

Other much-beloved movies were U.S. action drama “White House Down,” Chinese animated pic “The Adventures of Jinbao,” brand-new Superman installation “Man of Steel,” 3D-reopened SF action “Jurassic Park” and long-running animated comedy “The Croods.”

South Korea movie ‘Cold Eyes’ starring Sol Kyung Gu, Jung Woo Sung, and Han Hyo Joo managed to attract 210,000 ticket admissions to lead the local box office on its opening day.

According to statistics released by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) today, ‘Cold Eyes’ had topped the local box office chart with 210,064 ticket admissions for July 3rd which was its opening day.

‘Cold Eyes’ revolves around a hidden criminal organization that leaves no traces of its activities behind and the surveillance team of a special crime unit that seeks to hunt them down. The movie is described as a big budget action flick that offers viewers a rare glimpse on how surveillance teams work behind the scenes and the criminals who elude them with smart and nifty tricks. Their face-off from start to finish serves as the biggest highlight of the entire movie.

Jung Woo Sung is attempting his first role as a villain, Han Hyo Joo is attempting her first action role, Sol Kyung Gu seeks to ditch his Kang Chul Jung image from his ‘Public Enemy’ movie series, while 2PM’s Junho makes his first acting debut. And with that, the 4 have come together to lift ‘Cold Eyes’ to the top of the box office chart.

Hollywood movie ‘World War Z’ who has been hogging the top spot since its release, had to retreat to second place behind ‘Cold Eyes’. But it still managed to draw 108,272 ticket admissions for yesterday, and bringing its total admissions thus far to 3,557,823.

‘Killer Toon’ meanwhile came in 3rd place with 43,083 ticket admissions on July 3rd, and bringing its total admissions thus far to 643,202.

On the 3rd of July, Han Hyo-joo attended the interview session for the upcoming film Cold Eyes where she said “I was a little sad because there was only one action scene for me in the entire film. I also felt a huge burden since one action scene meant that I should be able to shoot a perfect one. So I spent the entire three weeks in the ‘Action School’ to make sure that I’m completely prepared”.

For the question about Jung Woo-sung she said “I thought Jung Woo-sung is a perfect actor. ‘Perfect’ in the sense always flawless like a machine. But after working with him I realized that he is a very humane person who also make mistakes at times just like the others”.

Meanwhile, ‘Cold Eyes’ is a film about the struggling policemen who are on the intense track of the offender who bearly leaves any trace.

• 0:50~ Junho mentioned his hobby is driving on a good weather. (DJ mentioned how cool that is, and Hyoo said Junho has sense for that). Junho really likes driving. But because of his busy schedule, he last drove 1 year ago! Junho owns 2 motorbikes, and 1 is a scooter, both DJ and Hyo Joo mentioned their worries and asked Junho to be careful.
• 2:30~ When DJ asked Hyo Joo, she said that she’s more comfortable riding on scooter caused it seems more safe etc etc, Junho said “Oh, ok, understood, let’s ride it once”, then Hyo Joo said “but not riding together though”, and Junho replied “but I want to ride together” kkk.

Junho's not just the 'squirrel' in the movie 'Stakeout', he also participated in the soundtrack.

'Stakeout' released an MV for his song "I'm In Love", which shows various scenes featuring Junho, as well as BTS scenes of him fooling around with actress Han Hyo Joo. Also, his little symbol for the movie seems to be a little squirrel on the board (how cute is that?)

'Stakeout' is an action film that revolves around a sector of the police department, which specializes in tracking and following a secret criminal organization. Junho will take on the role of an ace detective nicknamed 'Squirrel'. Squirrel is an amiable character and the atmosphere maker of the squad who has perfect teamwork with his fellow members.
