*** Luxury house Chanel held a special event for their Tweed De Chanel campaign collection. They invited various celebrities to grace the red carpet at the event. Park Hyungsik and Han Hyo Joo were also present at the event. So NICE seeing the two at the same event, even though they weren’t in the same frame. Park Hyungsik went for a casual knit look.   :cutekitty:

*** On July 27, when Park Hyung Sik made an appearance at a Chanel event, a journalist criticized him for refusing to do a heart pose. He accused that Park Hyung Sik just stood there with a blank expression. Other celebrities like Park Seo Joon also refused the heart pose and why this journalist bullying Park Hyung Sik by singling him out? The journalist report wasn’t fair, it's a trash. It looks like this journalist is "obsessed with hearts" - hahaha - There is nothing wrong with not doing the pose. This journalist SUCKS!   :crazily:

He actually did the heart pose. Anyway, Sikkie is a gentleman, he's always very friendly and polite when he talks to people. Netizens came to the defense bc those were false accusations.

3 Male Kpop idols on the 2023 small screen: Who did it best?

From Lee Jun Ho to Park Hyung Sik, various male Kpop idols are appearing on the small screen in 2023.

Park Hyung Sik

While a talented idol-turned-actor, Park Hyung Sik’s return as male lead Lee Hwan in “Our Blooming Youth” failed to live up to expectations. In particular, the drama tells the story of a crown prince who is under a curse and a girl accused of murdering her family.

Because the plot of “Our Blooming Youth” is too cliché and predictable, Park Hyung Sik had a hard time standing out despite his great efforts. Compared to his previous works, such as “Happiness”, the actor’s role boasts less depth.

Hopefully, Park Hyung Sik can find a more suitable role in the future and rise to higher ranks.

@LuxGirl  yes, only after repeated requests, he reluctantly presented a half-hearted heart pose for about 1 to 2 seconds, while explaining to the press that he wasn’t informed beforehand. Since it’s a matter of personal freedom, there should be no reason to make an issue out of the poses taken. (Park Seo-joon also declined to perform the heart pose. He merely waved his hand and smiled.)  Well, both actors have the right to choose their own poses. They may want to do a hand heart, or they may not. They don't have to please everyone all the time.   :kitty:

7 K-Dramas With Swoon-Worthy Crown Princes That Are Worth Watching

Fairytales have long spun a yarn of the handsome prince, the knight-in-shining armor who slays with his charm and valor.

K-dramas too have given us several crown princes who are intelligent, quick-witted, and accomplished fighters but are also very real when it comes to expressing their emotions, never shying away from owning their true self. Here’s a look at seven K-dramas with swoon-worthy crown princes that are worth the watch.

Our Blooming Youth

park-hyung-sik.jpeg

The distressed Crown Prince Lee Hwan (Park Hyung Sik) is under a mysterious curse. He struggles between evil omens and lurking palace intrigues, with his inheritance in jeopardy. The only one who can save the tormented crown prince is Min Jae Yi (Jeon So Nee), a woman who has been accused of killing her fiancé’s family and is now on the run.

What’s endearing about Lee Hwan is how unafraid he is when it comes to showing his weakness and vulnerabilities. As Jae Yi takes charge, he is more than happy to support her, and there is no false sense of princely bravado. Park Hyung Sik is often known as an actor who has the ability to make his female leads shine. He is endearing in his portrayal of Lee Hwan and portrays the kind of character that makes you want to reach out and protect him.

Hwarang, also known as the Flower Knights, were an elite group of young men from high ranking families who were well versed in philosophy, religion, and arts. They were also martial arts experts in the Silla kingdom. The legend of the Hwarang grew over the years and was romanticized in popular culture. “Hwarang” revisits the legacy of these charming flower boys and is a coming-of-age drama about a group of young soldiers who band together to form a new “Silla” on the way of discovering love, friendship, and their own selves. The show is best remembered for its star-studded cast including Park Seo Joon as the brave and free-spirited Moo Young and Park Hyung Sik as the crown prince Sam Maek Jong. Moo Young and Sam Maek Jong are both smitten by Kim Ah Ro (Go Ara), a girl of aristocratic birth. There’s also the flirty yet chivalrous Kim Soo Ho (SHINee’s Minho), the happy-go-lucky Suk Han Sung (BTS’s V) as well as Park Ban Ryu (Do Ji Han) and Kim Yoo Weol (Jo Yoon Woo), each with their own agenda. The show also marks the origins of how the Wooga Squad, the famous friend group, came into being.

From boys to men, the Hwarang embark on a journey of self discovery as they fight off political intrigues, overcome their fears, and discover love. But it is the brotherhood amongst the boys which emerges as the star of the show.

*** "Hwarang" has beautiful melodies. I love drama OSTs especially when some are sung by K-Pop artists. Generally, an OST is necessary to make a drama complete. I have many of them on my playlist. Though I didn’t understand some of them, I loved hearing them. The track that really amazed me in the drama is : song sung by BTS' Jin & V titled  Even If I Die, It’s You.  This drama is special for me because it made me discover BTS V. I watched the drama mainly for Park Seo Joon and Park Hyung Sik.   :kitty:

*** I remember the time when Park Bo Young complimented Park Hyung Sik for his kind nature and adorable behavior. She said, 'No man like him' during a Vlive session in 2022. They will make a special appearance in Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon upcoming spin-off and have completed filming their scenes back in May. This will have an entirely different cast and storyline. The sequel is set to release on October 7 on JTBC. I'm hoping I could see them again on the same screen in the future.   :winkx:

The Five Most Memorable K-Drama Characters of Park Hyung-sik

In any fictitious scenario, Park looks real, being so easy on the eyes. That ease results from an apparent acting aptitude he expertly taps to paint his characters in lifelike detail

spacer.png

Park Hyung-sik is a powerhouse poised to burst onto the screen; the rupture may be modest or massive, depending on the character. Regardless of its kind, though, its impact is extensive. The Hallyu star is too desirable to distract your attention from him—he is chic, sharp, and all that—and that makes him an ideal K-drama hero. In any fictitious scenario, Park looks perfectly real, being so easy on the eyes. That ease, I’m sure, results from an apparent acting aptitude he expertly taps to paint his characters in lifelike detail. Five of his most memorable ones to date are listed below:

Spoiler

King Sammaekjong – Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-2017)

The key character here, Queen Jiso (Kim Ji-soo), is an astute ruler of Silla who schemes to create Hwarang, an elite warrior force, to overthrow the wealthy aristocracy, stay in power, and hide her son, King Sammaekjong, from opponents and assassins. Sammaekjong joins the clique using the alias Kim Ji-dwi, keeping his identity under wraps.

The character gained steam through Park’s emotive lucidity and insight. He built Sammaekjong most eloquently, manifesting how he feels, his personality, and his predicament.

Ahn Min-hyuk – Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017)

Park is rather instinctive in expressing love, whether it be in a spur-of-the-moment, vividly intimate situation, or most subtly in a slow-burn romance. His Min-hyuk upholds Park’s standing as a romantic interest and a star performer.

Min-hyuk is at the helm of a gaming company and hires Do Bong-soon (Park Bo-young) as his bodyguard for her superhuman strength. While working for him, they keep getting closer. When Bong-soon pursues a kidnapper who is wreaking havoc, Min-hyuk and she come to terms with how much they love each other.

Min-hyuk thrives as a dreamboat and as a dominant force, wearing his heart on his sleeve for Bong-soon. He is likewise witty, hysterical, and totally endearing.

Go Yeon-woo – Suits (2018)

By empathizing with others’ lives, you gain a greater awareness of them. Something Park accomplished when doing Go Yeon-woo in Suits, the Korean remake of the same-named American television series. Yeon-woo, who has a sharp memory but lacks a law degree, enters the legal field after an eminent attorney from an elite law firm employs him as an aid in settling significant cases.

Jung Yi-hyun – Happiness (2021)

Shortly after a release from military service, Park resurfaced with the hit K-Zombie Happiness, where Detective Jung Yi-hyun and Special Agent Yoon Sae-bom (Han Hyo-joo) are trapped within their apartment complex while probing a bizarre mad disease outbreak.

Yi-hyun has long cherished romantic feelings for Sae-bom. He still cares sincerely for her, ignoring the reality that she has friend-zoned him. His attachments deepen when they move in together faking as a married couple, even more so as they battle the status quo to avert the spread of infection amongst the building’s occupants.

The way that Park evokes the character’s likenesses, his sincere expression of emotions, and his manner in that he puts himself on the line before Sae-bom each time, strives to save her with his life, and never demands anything in return furnish an ideal precedent of a man every girl would like to meet. From early on to the end of the drama, Park’s sensitive treatment of Yi-Yun’s sentiments incrementally generates a myriad of vivid thoughts that inevitably overwhelm you and drive you through to the final moments.

Han Sun-woo – Soundtrack #1 (2022)

Han Sun-woo, a freshman photographer, and Seo Eun-soo (Han So-hee), a songwriter, have been friends for years. While Eun-soo is vivacious and upfront, Sun-woo is collected and kind. As they begin to collaborate on music while sharing a home, their friendship develops into something more.

Park’s Sun-woo is the ideal reticent lover—with his aching look, his unspoken feelings for Eun-soo, his emotional boundaries, and how he manages to hold himself away even while near her. The drama is a beautiful, slow-burn romance with a more grounded rationale for why friendship and love are often two sides of the same coin. Park’s innately passionate eyes constantly display Sun-woo’s love. Eun-soo overlooks that up until the final chapter, where she knows she’s fallen for him.

8 K-Dramas That Would Have Been Better Without The Unnecessary Romance Plotlines

K-Drama fans are getting tired of romances. It’s perfectly fine if the show is focused on the relationship, but when writers just throw one in when there are more interesting things happening… It’s frustrating. While there are several K-Dramas coming out without romances, it’s still the number one item in most series.

As such, fans thought these 8 K-Dramas would have been miles better without that pesky romance!

4. Hwarang

Queen Ji So (Kim Ji Soo) has been ruling Silla as regent since King Beopheung died, keeping her young son Sam Maek Jong (Park Hyung Shik) hidden from the world. As he comes of age, nobles, citizens, officials, and Sam Maek Jong himself grow impatient for her to cede power. However, Ji So fears that the powerful nobles will take it from her young son. To break the power of the nobles, Ji So creates a new elite group, the Hwarang, that will protect Sam Maek Jong and the throne.

Rb-8bZHjE9dnSLvDQ1yv_sd3mZiOH0dLWK0XAyKd

Aside from fans being mildly weirded out by what the couple turns out to be in the end, everyone mostly wanted this to be a bromance series. We understand that the romance added some dramatic scenes, but everyone mostly just wanted to watch the Hwarangs’ usual story.
