Lee Joon Gi’s Agency Responds To Rumors Of The Actor Dating IU

Lee Joon Gi’s agency has responded to rumors of the actor dating IU, his co-star in last year’s drama “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo.”

Namoo Actors said on January 24, “It seems [Lee Joon Gi and IU] had really great chemistry in the drama. It is not true that they are dating. They became quite close while working together, and it seems that’s why the rumors began, but all the cast members of ‘Scarlet Heart: Goryeo’ are close. We hope there are no further misunderstandings.”

Recently, it was revealed that IU and Jang Ki Ha have broken up.

These news were to be expected though, even if they are dating right now...
Confirming would just earn the both of them literally a million anti-fans... 

Let's just be hopeful and see where this is going in the end.

Although I finished my one shot about the present day meeting between So and Hae Soo in Until We Meet Again, I do feel tempted to imagine some real life moments of LJG and IU now...

No confirmation. Also, I don't think an annoucement will be made until at least one month before filming. MLSHR was announced in November 2015 and casting was only confirmed in January 2016 (if I recall correctly).

With that being said, he has two more possible FMs until April: Singapore and his birthday. I don't know how feasible a pre-produced shooting would be. 

I personally want him to do a winter drama hahaha

HAhahaha I know right ... typical agency...easily get rattled by the netizens comments. Hoping someday one unique rebel agency will rise above the rest and will not give a hoot and will not be intimidated by the netizens tantrums... i wonder if such a day would come though.

I think Namoo releasing these statements is definitely the right thing to do in light of fans hassling Joongi on Insta, in order to protect him. It's funny that that they were otherwise okay with the gossip, though that makes sense since I don't think rumours linking LJG to IU would be inherently damaging to him.

IU, on the other hand... she's a lot more vulnerable to attack here due to the break-up news (cheating speculation, plus history of bad press and netizen hatred), so I'll be interested to see whether Loen makes a comment.

At the moment when the breakup news is still very 'hot' and a lot of unnecessary speculations including comments and spites towards LHJ and IU/Ji Eun herself *again, oh well K-netz!*, it's good that an official 'peaceful' statement is there. I am a JG fan in the first place, a shipper in the second place so to be honest it also annoys me when I saw a comment on the JG-JE 'rumour' saying something like: 'JG, please get a girl on your level' or any other comments which degraded Ji Eun from the K-netz. They also won't leave her alone and in peace!

Yeah, I'm super curious about this as well. I haven't checked her Instagram, other than to send her a ♥ after the break-up news came out to show my support. Most of the comments at that time were similar support messages, so hopefully no one was tactless enough to mention LJG in her Instagram or other places. (Seriously, for all they know, she just broke up with her longtime boyfriend - how rude would that be...)

I think Namoo handled it pretty well (though I don't understand the different comments to different media outlets - typically, I thought they would release a blanket statement and each outlet would just use that...?), so there really isn't a reason for Loen to say anything unless IU has been getting swamped with similar comments.

tbh Namoo Actors's lightning clarification to this makes me wonder; if nothing happened then why bother produce an official statement of it? LJG has a strong stance in the industry as an A-list entertainer (I can imagine he persuade them to make this statement to protect the other side, since in this kind of news woman always get the short end of the stick) Ofc I wouldn't underestimate the destructive power of those nasty netizens and haters tho

this kind of situation is kinda cuckoo when I think about it... artists doesn't have any obligation to fulfill everyone's(netizens) expectations regarding to their private life. They can just marry and there's absolutely no need for them to answer to the public (even us shippers) but that's showbiz world for you I guess

yup.. i think they will stay low for now.. its to protect both of them especially JE.. and i do think in a way, for Namoo to make that statement is kinda good since knets can be crazily bashed JE.. ( they will use cheating as a sole topic) also for saving JG from being accused as the third party.

I believe that all the things that happened recently is the first test for their close relationship. This test will strengthen them more and analyze their bond for each other. I suppose, though you'd think this would be something IU's people would have wanted to put the kibosh on straight away (regardless of the Instagram debacle), considering that the original statement about the break-up was immediately met with netizen comments about her dating LJG, plus reportedly a bucketload of other rumour posts about them. That said I don't claim to understand how the likes of Loen operate...

Honestly, while I'm a fan of both IU's and LJG's work I haven't followed either of them particularly closely, so I'm curious about how normal/abnormal/significant this whole situation is for them? I'm aware of IU's past big scandals but as far as I know it's not really business as usual for serious rumours to flare up about her and her male leads just because they have on-screen chemistry (unless there's some juice about Wooyoung/Jang Geun Suk/Jo Jongsuk/Kim Soohyun I've missed...). And Junki is apparently scandal-free. (Apologies if this has already been addressed -- I haven't read through every single page of this thread )

Hello everyone,i would like to say that i'm having so much fun reading the thread nowadays...lol..we've been going through such an intense,emotional,exciting roller-coaster ride these past few weeks since new year i may say.All of this thanks to our OTP..so yesterday we had another round of a ride when the breakup news breaks out.Seriously,when @starcandy0516 told us about the rumors of break up..i was thinking that maybe it will take take time to surfaced, when everything is calm down and maybe in a month time..but nope....BAMM..it happened.What makes me anxious is that the confirmation starts from the voldy's side first.I have this split second thought that maybe,just maybe Jieun doesn't want to exposed the matter but then were forced to confirm since the other side has spoken..Can someone tell me how big is the response of k-netz..? is it soo overwhelming that even JG agency need to speak out? I know the I-netz has different takes on the issue.I just believe that lots and lots of people  were low-key shipping JoonU that when yesterday's news come out,there were explosive reaction to that thus lots of comment wishing them to be together.We really cannot blamed them..since JoonU are so shippable but why the need to write comment in voldy's IG. When it comes to this,is this the start of us not getting any more of a crumb?They need to protect each other from hurt so they will be more careful.But really,JG agency are so fast to react..but if it helps to protect them further,then its okay...just hoping that their new friendship is not shaken by this rumor..i'm sure that both have talk to each other about this matter after JG back to Korea.Anyhow,stargazers lets just pray that even if our couple will take a little more time   the BBJX bless will come true.

I also think this is the reason why JG's CEO also was present at his fan meeting. Cause this is JG first time inviting a guest to perform in his fan meeting. Also I can't imagine how much JG must have plead with his CEO to bring forward his FM date to be next to IU concert after they have already set a date for his FM. Image all the trouble they must go through to cancel all the previous booking and making last minute adjustment. His CEO must be worried of how the fans would react to IU so he came along in case he need to do damage control.

since you quoted me, I will have to make some comments.

Firstly, Joongi is an actor senior enough to call his own shots. Namoo is already his 3rd agency, he is not a young idol having to say yes and follow whatever his manager says, in fact its the opposite. For me I think the Namoo boss is following around him more these days, because of the rapid ascent of Joongi's popularity, he has to show that he is dedicating time to Joongi so that he doesnt get poached by other agencies.

The taiwan trip is special because there is a press conference organised by a TV station for the publicity of MLSHR. I dont find it unusual for the Namoo boss to follow because of this. Altho I am a shipper, but I dont relate everything to relationships. The taiwan trip is a business trip and for all we know, the Namoo boss has never been to Taiwan and is just tagging along to sightsee on an expense paid trip. Haha.

As to the movement of the taiwan fm date, I think because the HK Fm got confirmed later so they had to shift the taiwan FM earlier. Of course, JG conveniently shifted it to be next to IU's concert date.

So far all the timing is perfect, even the breakup announcement is so perfectly timed to be after JG's HK concert. I dont know whether its all a conspiracy or its the stars just aligned to make everything seems this way. But all is good for me as of now. I am happy.
