Can't update profile picture with a gif

I tried to update my profile picture with a new gif, but it won't allow me to. It just keeps the old one instead of uploading the new one.  The gif is the correct size as well.   I even tried import from URL and it doesn't work.  It seems like it's not fully uploading. A png or a jpg work fine though. Any suggestions?

@melissala the gif is no bigger than 0,98MB? That would be the most logical reason for it to be rejected.

Same here. I wanted to change my profile pic from one gif to another, but it didn't allow me. So I checked jpeg and png files and both worked fine. I decided to to put my original profile gif that I wore, but I couldn't appload it anymore. All gifs were right sizes and 3 weeks ago I put them as my profile pic without any problem, but now only jpeg and png works. I will be glad if someone could help me to solve this problem.
