Thought I saw Jeon Mi Sun! 

So she is a specialist in sagueks? (I know she has acted in other genres - such as Kim Tak Gu's mom) but she has also been in Moon Embraces the Sun and Mirror of the Witch.

Even though I am upset with KBS decision to cut Beautiful Mind -  Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung are drawing me back into KBS's web.

The cast for this show is no joke. Look at all the veterans. The young ones can obviously learn from them. I love the script reading. full of laughter. 

i am angry at KBS right now but our young actors are bringing smiles to my face.

I can't help but smile seeing them laughing on the video. Both are lovable kids with refreshing smile, the mother's heart inside of me is satisfied LOL

In the news they've mentioned about delay on air date because of rio olympics  

They've met even before the first script reading, right? Back then when they're practicing for horse riding together. Maybe that's why they're already full of chemistry :")

Yes, that's Jeon Mi Sun! She's also in Six Flying Dragons earlier this year. So happy to see her, I wonder what her role is. It would be awesome if she's Hong Ra On's mom, Moon-Sun reunion!!

It's been quite sometimes since the last time I watched a kbs drama, only back to KBS because of MDBC. Hope they stop messing around, too much chaos this year on their drama department.

Whoa~ the casts are amazing... And Jeon Mi Seon! I miss seeing her on my screen... Even they only had Jinyoung as an idol-actor and the rest are all good actors/actresses. Gureumi daebak~!^^

@Mymindisblank. Bo Gum has always been affectionate with his co-stars and  as far as I know he makes effort to stay in touch with them so I won't be surprised if he says he misses Yoo Jung after drama ends lol he is really lucky to work with her in his first sageuk drama so he will be grateful regardless  rating success ^^ In his last drama he said his only regret was not spending more time with veteran cast seems this time he can do that too. 

Olympics ends in 21 August so 22 Monday should be new air date. One week before Scarlet.

I loved both W and UF but these two drama fairly different and will attract different audience on the other hand BM and Doctors similar both is not my cup of tea I won't watch medical drama unless Gong Hyo Jin is part of it. ^^ (After checking out threads) Difference is while BM is mind boggling, Doctors is easy on eyes and has swoon worthy romance plus plus strong female lead. I'm not sure about Scarlet,  Chinese version was confusing  but it must have been polished  a lot it's preproduction with huge budget after all still I have a feeling Moonlight has great chance of capturing  hearts and can hold its own. 

Oh! Does anyone know about child actors? Flashback or part of royal family.

So happy to see a glimpse of Raon-Yeong's bickering moment in motion not just on the text.

Also, we can see the (almost) full lineup of MDBC! Such a strong and swoon-worthy line up, so many amazing veteran and sageuk actors there. I'm more than sold >< KBS, don't you dare to mess up with this precious line-up!  

About the first broadcast date, based on what I've seen, K-fans seems prefer August 22 more than August 29 (too late and too risky to battle it out with the pilot episode of SH) and even the previous date August 15 (olympic). Those 3 different dates have their own strengths and weaknesses, there's no perfect date. So I hope KBS can decide wisely as soon as possible so that the exact date can be listed in the upcoming teaser.

If they're really pushed back the pilot episode of mdbc, it's better to tone it down the promotion a little bit for a few next days. Fans might be happy with lots of stills and videos but casual viewers might lost their curiosity peak and getting tired of waiting, because it's still a long time until the pilot episode (especially if KBS decide to go with August 29).

Thank god it is the weekend, and there is nothing better than coming home to freshly release beautiful visuals of Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung! I did not think we would get to see a BTS script read, seeing how pathetic they had been by only releasing one picture of the script read before. Therefore, I am utterly thrilled we get to see a video today. The above image is my favourite of the lot from the video for various reasons, and I hope just like Uncontrollably Fond, stingy KBS will upload more official script read pictures a bit later tonight.

Oooooh. So that's what they were filming when they went up the mountains and did jump shots! I thought they were filming a video plug for another teaser much like the one with Bogum and Junhyeok before. Our main leads' visuals = top notch. From the promo material, it seems like KBS considers Gureumi as one of their major drama productions. Seeing our Gureumi couple with couples from 2 pre-produced and highly-budgeted dramas makes me think that KBS is really banking on Gureumi to succeed. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. I'll choose to be optimistic and think that it's a good thing. KBS will do its best to promote Gureumi, as evidenced by our daily updates.

As for the risk for over promotion, I think what the PR team is doing is just trying to catch up on SHR when it comes to embedding its presence on public consciousness. The public has known of SHR for what seemed like a year already, and they have released stuff over the months (they even had a lengthy teaser released a month or so ago). I agree though that it's not so good for the PR team to release promo materials everyday so they may have to ease on that a little bit. Maybe twice a week, and then everyday for the final week heading into the premiere?

I keep on replaying the first script reading video. So happy to see Bogum and Yoojung look close that early in the drama production. I was a bit surprised, tbh. I knew they went horse riding, and they were pictured having lunch with Seowon and their entourage before the script reading session, but I didn't expect that they'd be so comfortable with each other so fast. I've always pictured Bogum to be much like Taek - good-natured and a little timid (minus the headaches and helplessness) - while Yoojung has always been easy-going and a little tomboy-ish. And they connected that fast? I am so pleased. They look so cute laughing together. Awww, please continue to be friends. Bogummie, please create an IG account so I can see you interact with your fellow cast members.

As for the premiere date, it is really tricky:

August 15 - tough rating-wise because of Doctors, but people could check it out online and follow the story from there. If viewers are pleased and are engrossed in the story two weeks in, they may choose to watch this over SHR when Doctors ends. Gureumi might steal a number of drama watchers from Monster, but it's tough to imagine the watchers switching to another drama after tuning in for 35+ episodes. It's also improbable that they choose this date given that they already used the Rio Olympics excuse to cut BM short.

August 22 - tougher rating-wise because the last episode of Doctors could generate massive ratings. Still, viewers can watch the episode online and judge if they like Gureumi. It is hard to completely grab audiences with just a pair of episodes though, so people may still choose to watch SHR even with 1 week headstart.

August 29 - scary going head to head with a mammoth, but the audience would be given the choice on an empty slate, and the choice would be made based on what they perceive to be the better drama for them. This is completely different from having to compete against a drama with a solid following so I'm kinda leaning towards this one. It is still worrisome though given that the other drama has: (1) cast members which have huge followings (their 2nd, 3rd, 4th male lead can each headline a drama and the 5th has millions of followers); (2) well-loved plot based on a book and a chinese drama adaption, both of which were massively popular and successful; (3) big companies backing the production and promotion. And the two dramas will be compared endlessly to each other for the entire run, given that both are fusion sageuks.

@iamia. August 22 seems to be disadvantageous compared to others but if it was me I would release  it that day  on condition that

• Ep 1-2 Reruns within week or right before Ep 3-4
• Per episode will be 70 min so instead of 22:00 I would change it to 21:45 or 21:50 with catchy and stylish first 10-15 min
• I would play my cards on Ra On because these days people really wants to see charming female leads ^^ 

 

This way once audience tunes in they won't be willing to change channel. Of course it's considering drama will be as good.

The owner of this daum blog said that they spent 21 hours for filming this scene.The extra children couldn't sleep because of hanbok and the heat. It's a tough filming but they're able to finish filming properly.

I see Raon there. But the man with green hanbok, not sure if it's Yeong or Yoonsung.

@onlysb1 I think it's different time when Bogum said that line and when Yoojung and Bogum laughing. But he said this, probably about Raon 'That red pomegranate-like lips' 

About the child actors, one of them is the talented Heo Jung Eun, her role is Princess Yeongon (Yeong's half little sister). The other two are still not sure. But probably.....

Child actor Jung Yoon Seok probably Yeong's child counterpart since he sat side by side with Queen Sunwon. The last child actress is most likely Danhee, Raon's sick little sister.

Another information : Han Soo Yeon's role is Royal Noble Consort from Kim Clan (based on the news), looks like she is the drama version of Sunjo's 2nd wife, Royal Noble Consort Sook of Park clan.

Ahhh. I haven't considered the reruns. I agree with you then.  Hopefully, the drama's first two episodes are strong enough to hook viewers. This is critical for Gureumi, I think.

@iamia. Yes, first week is critical for every drama OTP moments even more so. I love slow build more but in this case it's a fortunate Prince will show his interest from the very start
