The fact that everyone (including me) screams for blood and murder for the scar they inflicted on us serve the impact they need. At this point happy ending is too much, I just need a closure. Yup, agree with you and your mom. Happy ending is nice but you will forget about it in a week. But this kind of ending (even tho it is hurt like hell) will burn into your soul and leave forever mark there. And it will says "Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo Was Here !!!" Boy, how good they are to make us crazy

Such a good news.

magdale
34 minutes ago, ruizaio said: Ji Soo (who played Wang Jung) confirmed in an interview that there is a scene in modern times where future So and Ha Jin meet. He wondered if it would be included in a DVD release. Just like Jin Ki Joo (actress of CR), he confirmed that many scenes were deleted from each episode. All the more reason for a complete edition to come out... So maybe this was the original idea, make them meet in the future. I think what PD Nim said about the happy ending and then LJG about the same was for this scene, but something happened while the drama was airing that they decided to cut it of the finale. Maybe was due to the low rating, or maybe by comparison that constantly people made with the C-version and they didn't want to do a similar ending so they opted for the open ending. I really don't understand what was the purpose, if from the beginning they had this idea, why cut it from the final version when probably it will help to give a proper closure to Wang So and Hae Soo's story. Lot of people are complaining because are not satisfied with the end, in my case I was beginning to accept but now with this I'm upset again. If they weren't sure to add it because it would be a problem then why not put it as an epilogue in a special episode.

iloveknovela
12 minutes ago, 40somethingahjumma said: Now that I've watched it with subs... I can safely say I really, really liked the finale. It's even better with the subs. I bought every single thing in this episode including Jeong which was the part I was least happy about going in. But they sold it. His simple-mindedness became his greatest asset and his scenes with Su were really sweet and beautiful. Simplicity is what she needed after so much death and complicated. Oh. My. Goodness... Wang So's love for Su is just epic beyond belief. All-consuming, all-encompassing... crossing time and space. Now I understand what LJG meant by obsessive. But "obsessive" is an understatement. This was beyond obsessive. This is Prometheus-defy the gods, defy Heaven, defy fate kind of love. The proverbial middle finger to the universe. Man... I hope he succeeds. Maybe if he catches the next eclipse or creates his own. Seeing that it's So... you know what... he might actually do it... Someone give him a cape, after all he's already got a mask... an entire collection of it... and the man's already halfway to being some kind of superhero anyway. The gallery of Goryeo pictures made so much more sense the second time. Oh. My. Goodness. I don't know if it was the writer and PD's intention but I really thought So was sending Su messages from the past. "I will never let you go. You made me a better man. Don't forget me. Wait. I will come for you." That was just mind-blowingly epic. Yeah, what's a thousand years between us? Pffft. I adored jealous So... spying on the married couple... throwing tantrums at the palace. This is the kind of stuff I die for in K dramas. I loved the angst and everyone turned it on. LJG, LJE, the PD and the writer. What was incredibly heart-breaking was all that misunderstanding until she died. Letters not read. Things not said. The realisation on her part that the opposite of love is not hate (as she had feared) but leaving was quite profound and palpable with regret. She was so afraid that hate would come between them and thought that leaving would preserve the memories that she didn't realise that leaving would be even worse and a lot more painful. There are interesting parallels with the Cowherd and Weaver story that was briefly mentioned in Ep. 17... when I saw him mention it last week... I thought... my OTP... they are truly doomed. Love between persons from different worlds were a big no-no... so they were punished. I imagine too that Ji Mong is some kind of heavenly messenger. He's definitely fibbing when he says he's only an observer. He's far more than that. Far, far more. I haven't decided if he was deliberately trying to trigger Su's memory or trying to make sure she didn't remember anything. However, the line that everything is back to what they should be, swings me towards the latter. Still I reserve the right to change my mind on this. The daughter was also a nice touch. Although for So it's a double-edged sword. Yes, there's a bit of him and Su left in Goryeo but he can't have the child by his side. Nevertheless it seems he will get uncle visits if he's not busy looking for Su somewhere in time and space. Initially I thought it wasn't really necessary to have the piggy-back scene as I thought So revealing his scar was enough for me. Yay, the wolf that mates for life was back. However, looking at it again, the piggy-back scene it seemed to me exemplified that sort of defiance of convention and rules that their entire relationship was based on. I loved the way he cast his eye around to see if anyone was looking and then told her to get on. That was so him... and them. I also really liked ageing, sickly Uk. KHN was superb and one could feel the gravitas... He really is such a talented kid... absolutely a star in the making. I expect we'll see him in more lead roles in future, if he chooses to do them. There's one thing that K drama actors generally excel in... and that's crying. There was so much weeping in the last couple of episode and everyone did it brilliantly. Even the scumbag Won had tears in his eyes... and I actually thought they looked genuine. Just my initial thoughts. May have more later. But right now I need a nap... I'm such a zombie after staying up late last night. The feeling is mutual. I thought I can ignore this thread after the final episode and focus on what I need to get done BUT i can't help it. I was a little sad watching it last night without the sub. Now that I finally done watching with sub, just like you, I am satisfied ... felt good about other characters too. What makes me more happy is So meeting his daughter, so cute. At least he has something that not only reminds him with HS, but something that could make him less lonely although she could visit the palace only once in a while. Seems that GJ doesn't care about his children with YH but he adores his daughter with Soo although he wasn't aware she's his yet. I love that part. I was really disappointed with HS in episode 19 for leaving So just like that, but knowing that it was for her baby's sake, I understood her decision. Though, misunderstandings robbed them the opportunity to be together before she died, at least it was all cleared even if it's too late. As expected, their good memories together helped them get through rough times and most likely as they move on with their separate lives. WS's love for HS, I couldn't find the exact words to describe it BUT indeed it is an epic one. I think LJK said possessive not obsessive, if my memory serves me right. Being possessive is not always a negative thing for me because nobody wants to be possessive of something they doesn't want to possess. When we have something that our hearts truly desires, the proof of that is PURSUIT. Whatever it is, it can only be a failure if we give up. We all have seen that with GJ and though the journey is quite arduous, he won the battle. No wonder he was always jealous too. I guess both of them are the same .... they don't want to share what's theirs, Soo hates polygamy while So hates to see her close with another man. I think I'll be re-watching this drama until I have enough ..... that's my withdrawal pill, always.
Popular Post Rose3
OMG guys, I watched the drama the third time and this time is the SBS version with subs. I must say you should only watch the SBS version with subs because everything makes sense. The dialogue makes so much sense. The drama is wrapped up nicely. Though my heart is still aching for the story, I am very satisfied. After I finished watching this version with subs, I find this drama wonderful! Though there are still minor things left up in the air, they are just minor. Probably because they actually intend to make a Season 2 as they might have thought before that the drama will received high ratings. The SBS version translation uploaded at Kissasian is wonderful. SBS version is always the best version with better flow, better editing, and great instrumental (OSTS, background sounds and music). I almost want to cry many times in this episode but I just can't bring myself to cry. I guess I got stronger from the journey? Lol. But this episode has so much feels and emotions. I can feel the pain, loneliness, regrets of every characters. My hearts aches for every of them. Purest love is the greatest form of love. The kind of love that you give without expecting anything in return. I have said this before, if I could say on one of the message of the drama is that the characters only at the end of their lives or after clinching their goal/ambition realize what matters the most, who is the most important to you at the end of the day. Many forsake one thing over the other. And sometimes in the process of getting to what we want, we lose ourselves in the process. In Goryeo, you can't have it all. The power that you have, corrupts you. Its either you have power and you lose love or you have love but you don't have power. Yeonhwa says she knows why Hae Soo leaves Wang So that is because Wang So is warm yet cold. And that his love is obsessive. He is cold-bloodied, cruel in ruling the country yet that is how he becomes a very powerful King in Goryeo dynasty. This is what Yeonhwa means when Wang So did not show care for their son's birthday because he knows Yeonhwa and the son is going after him for the throne. The portrait of Gwangjong looks so lonely, his eyes is dark. We can also see that in the description of Gwangjong: He emancipates the slaves, he is a good and wise king but yet he has extensive purges. That is him. He is that way since the beginning. He always has both that wolf and dog personality. He is both cold and warm. Warm to the people he loves, he emancipates the slaves because of Hae Soo's principle of treating everyone equal. Yet, he is cold and bloodied when ruling because he can see people who hides behind their masks and who wants to betray or already betrayed him. Thus, he killed many in the process. If you see history, he rises at a period when they are many princes and powerful clans vying for the throne. Goryeo is still a fledging state after the unification of the Three Kingdoms. Taejo, the founder, forms the empire by the help of alliances with powerful families, thus these alliances are weakened when he died. And many of these powerful families/clans and princes are going forward for the power. You can see how Wook and his family is Wang So cornering again and again. Also, Yo, Won in the past. Yet, it is ironic. This is a lesson by Hae Soo to Wang So and also Taejo's last words. Life is fleeting. All this love and hate will passed thus isn't it better to love than hate but in Hae Soo's words, it is better to love than leaving. Leaving is worser than hate because when you leaves you can't even hate the person, there is a void that can't be replaced. This is the same words he speaks after killing many of the court's people, where he finally left alone in the palace. Wook just died, other princes already died, Jung at his place and Baek Ah asking to take a leave since no one is there. Baek Ah going to wander with his music as always. He rewinds to his past with Hae Soo when they are walking at that beautiful, greenery lane. Wang So: The late king’s taejo’s last words were life is fleeting. It is all short and in vain. He said life is short. But I think he was wrong, You and I are together like this, how could it be in vain? - He realized after being all alone that Taejo's and Hae Soo words are correct, life is indeed fleeting. I am nervous whenever I see your facial expressions. I feel like you’re going to leave me and go far away. What are you afraid of? What are you hiding? Hae Soo: It’s just I feel anxious every day when I live here. Every step I take. I feel I must be cautious, I feel like I walking on thin ice. Sometimes, I feel like I cannot breathe. Wang So: Even though you have me? You still feel that way? Hae Soo: If we had met in another world and at another time. I was thinking how great that would have been. If only that could be..I wouldn’t fear anything. Truly, I could freely love you all I wanted. - From here we already know what Hae Soo's principles are and her personality, and how she is suffocated in the palace, it is lonely and scary. It is not her there. Wang So remembers this past and realizes that life is indeed fleeting and he wiped the concealer away showing his full-scar face. His eyes are dark and lonely. He wipes his scars because he realizes that when he has that scar and that mask, he is with Hae Soo happily. But with the scar concealed, he became a King. He thought when he became the King, he can have both power and love. But in clinching his goal, he is destroying it the process. Destroying the people he cares about. Thus, all that it is, is meaningless. Only the time when he is a prince with a scar, he can be freely with his love, Hae Soo. Thus, he says these words with his full-scar, because now he realizes what is the most important. Your weakness is also your strength, that scar can be perceived as bad but yet with that scar, he has the love of Hae Soo. Wang So: If we are not from the same world, I will find you. My…Soo. - I never doubted Wang So loves for Soo, because it crosses time and space... All these teachings to So can be summed in Hae Soo's words. Hae Soo's letter to Wang So (this is the better translation, it makes sense - see the SBS version in Kissasian): Life is like a dream. Right and wrong. Love and hate. They all get buried with the passing of time and leave quietly with no trace. -Similar to life is fleeting, thus what's the point in hating and killing? Because...[cont.to my next purple line] Do you still think that you don’t have my whole heart and resent me? I’ve always worried that I may have left you with hatred instead of love, You will only suffer in the process and end up being alone. not allowing you to rest in peace. - She cares and loves Wang So through and through... I never doubted her love for him. I still love you. When you gave up everything and stood by me in the rain.. When you threw your body in the way of a flying arrow to protect me…you became someone I could never forget in my life. I came to realise that the opposite of loving is not hating, but leaving. -How poignant and true... I’m afraid you may think that I left you and that you left me. I yearn for you so much, but I can’t be near you. I hope and wait to see you again inside these fences, I’ll be waiting for you…every day. This is for Wang So's side.Yet, when we move forward to the modern world when Hae Soo finds out her past love with Wang So and seeing him all alone. She says she is very sorry for leaving him alone, sorry... The writer makes both of the main leads' principles ironic. That Hae Soo is right, when killing and hating people, Wang So the ones end up alone, feels empty on the inside and thus suffers. Isn't it better to forgive people? Yet, Hae Soo by standing up for everyone, having the mindset that everyone is equal, no one is fortunate, friendship over love...that kind of mindset..when she realizes back in the modern world...in doing so, she leaves Wang So alone because she doesn't choose side thus she doesn't choose Wang So's side and stay by Wang So, who only has her. Their love is so ironic and tragic. Yet, everything is wrapped up nicely because both realizes what matter the most after all these. So are the other characters. They know now what to do next in an another world. Wang So says he will find Hae Soo even if they are in an another world. And Hae Soo regrets her action for leaving Wang So lonely. The piggy-back scene and rewinding to the past is just to close the story nicely by showing their past love moments with both being together.... What a wonderful drama! Note: I watch the SBS version at Kissasian. All the beautiful and excellent translations are from there. You can watch it there. Purplerune27
Hi cingu I always been a silent reader from the start but now I cant help to share my thought about the ending of this drama. Instead of saying a happy ending or sad ending i think this drama had a beautiful ending. It's like I don't need to see any future so or princes to meet ha jin but the ending is just beautiful. The scene where ha jin suddenly remember everything that happened in goryeo by looking at those paintings gave me chills. This kind of ending is just something we need to always remember how beautiful this story. The whole story is beautiful isnt it? I enjoyed this drama and will be my favorite kdrama. Sorry to say for those who wants to see the future So. I even think it will ruined this drama if the ending is ha jin meet future wang so, it's kinda too cheesy hehe. ✌
Popular Post Rose3
Okay one of the final things I want to say for the day: I would like to apologize for some typos when doing the live recaps. I do not know how qwenli does it. The dialogue were moving so fast and I was comprehending the story. Now happy things: I am very happy and fortunate to have found this wonderful forum and thread. I have said before this is a mother of all thread. This thread makes the drama and the journey so much more enjoyable and understandable. And I am happy reading and learning from many thoughtful comments, analyses and different point of views. *bows head* This is a wonderful drama. I spend so much time, energy and emotional investments into this drama. After this episode ends, I must say the journey has been worthwhile despite many flaws. One of the flaw-free about the drama is the OSTs. I will listen to them even down the years. Maybe some time in the near future, when I have time, I will binge watch the whole drama to now take the story as a whole. This is one of my all-time favourite K-drama. It will be remembered for all the reactions, emotions that it brings out of me and many people has seen in this thread. Haha! I have to put-off watching K-dramas as for now because I really need a healthy dose of real-life. I do have to consider carefully when watching episode by episode of K-drama next time. I will get addicted, riled up, affects my emotional health and I forget my real life. Haha! Okay, as for now I will just be seeing the discussions and posts. It has been a wonderful journey, thank you so much everyone! Till we meet again in some new exciting and wonderful dramas like Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I'm am looking at either Gong Yoo's Goblin and Jun Ji Hyun's The Legend of Blue Sea. Though I don't think I want to watch episode by episode. I learnt the consequences of doing it with Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Hahah!
Popular Post WeunXK
=================== Nam Joo Hyuk bids farewell to Scarlet Heart: Ryeo Our handsome princes are leaving us! Actor and model Nam Joo Hyuk returns to the present-day with a message to devoted viewers of his recent K-drama Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. In a an official letter released through his agency YG Entertainment, the 22 year-old star expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew of the series and admitted that he is a Scarlet Heart: Ryeo fan just like the rest of us. "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo was a production that was made with a great director, scriptwriter, actors, staff, and everyone. Those 6-months of living as Baek Ah was real happiness. There were difficulties because it was my first historical drama, but I always had fun with the brothers. Especially the scenes with all the princes. We played around a lot and became very close." Nam missed this historical gem so much he has been watching it religiously. "I missed the drama set a lot while watching the broadcast. I also became one of the viewers and shared the sorrow when I watched my brothers die one by one. It's going to be another drama that I will never forget. I hope there will be a time for us brothers to reunite soon." Prince Baek Ah will be greatly missed. I can't believe our flower prince drama ends today! Scarlet Heart: Ryeo was one of the most romantic love stories of 2016. Of course, the love was accompanied by inconceivable heart-wrenching moments too. I wonder why so many had to die because of their devotion and survival. https://www.dramafever.com/pt/news/nam-joo-hyuk-bids-farewell-to-scarlet-heart-ryeo/ 46

clarissasan
About HS's baby (just want to answer some of your question ), why she is already that big after being born and already has a full head of hair, apparently some babies can born with full head of hair I even search for it because I want to know how old was the baby when HS died. So there are two alternatives of time: 1. The baby was born with full head of hair and HS died shortly from giving birth. I don't really know what is the normal newborn-baby size but the size looks normal to me it's just the sound of the baby's crying that didn't sounded natural. I mean the baby looked so quiet when being shown to Jung by their maid but the sound of her crying was loud. It's weird lol 2. The time has already skipped for months (without proper acknowledgement to us) before HS died so the baby was already become bigger. Another clue was HS sent WS lots of letters (she started sending it after the baby was born) but still no reply after all those time. That lots of letter she sent indicate time has passed whether it's for weeks or months. Well there's probability maybe she sent it everyday, but HS believed that WS will immediately come after he read her letter so HS may have already waited at least for days/weeks before she start sending a new letter.
