The cast of the upcoming tvN Monday-Tuesday drama, "Liar Game," gathered on September 16 at CJ E&M Center and successfully had their first script reading session. Actors Lee Sang Yoon, Kim So Eun, and Shin Sung Rok, who play the lead characters, as well as Jo Jae Yoon and Cha Soo Yeon participated in the session and had their first run of the lines. Before the script reading, the writer Yoo Yong Jae advised the actors, "It's okay to change the way of speaking or the lines if you think that would help make complete the character," and emphasized that it's important that the actors understand the characters they're playing. Lee Sang Yoon plays the role of Ha Woo Jin, a brilliant former psychology professor. While doing the reading, Lee Sang Yoon instantly found the game error that couldn't be fixed because of time constraints and writer Yoo Yong Jae praised him, "As expected of Ha Woo Jin." Lee Sang Yoon revealed that he's a fan of the manga since he was young, showing his passion for the project. Kim So Eun plays the role of Nam Da Jeong, the naive female college student. With her pure appearance and personality that fit the original character to a T, the producers have high expectations of her performance in the drama. Shin Sung Rok takes on the role of Kang Do, the game master who, with his sharp analytical skills, planned the reality show "Liar Game." The actor is said to show off his mysterious appeal yet again on this new project. Director Lee Hye Young has high hopes for the drama. "'Liar Game' is these day's tabloid. There's a lot of lies and fighting and we'll try to convey the worth of truth and trust through the lead characters. (With Liar Game,) viewers can see a new drama series that hasn't been seen before. Although there's some pressure because it's a new genre, we have higher anticipation (for this)," said PD Lee Hye Young. “Liar Game” is a live action adaptation of Kaitani Shinobu’s manga of the same title. The manga, which was first serialized in 2005 and was adapted into a TV series on 2007, is about Nao Kanzaki, a college student who’s honest to a fault. By a twist of fate, she got involved in a fictional “Liar Game Tournament” wherein contestants are encouraged to cheat and lie. The live action series had a second season aired on 2009. It also spawned two live action films that were shown in 2010 and 2012. "Liar Game" will air its first episode on October 20, 11 p.m. (KST) on tvN. Lee Sang Yoon, Kim So Eun, Shin Sung Rok
