SHINee's Key Cancels Musical Performance Due to Group's Comeback

Recommended Posts

Key has cancelled his performance of the musical “Bonnie and Clyde" scheduled for October 10 due to SHINee’s upcoming album release.

Representatives of M Musical Art wrote on their homepage, “Key, who plays the role of 'Clyde,’ is preparing to come back with SHINee’s fifth mini album ‘Everybody.’ Because of conflicting music show schedules, we decided to change the date of the musical.” They stated that the performance date has been postponed to October 25.

As long-running musicals have multiple castings for the same role, cancellation of a show because of one cast member’s personal schedules is nearly unheard of. This unusual situation has thus raised questions among fans.

Regarding this, one musical representative said, “We did it out of consideration for the audience. As most people who had purchased tickets for the show are fans of Key, we decided that it is right to change the date of the performance. Decision to cancel the show was reached after discussing the matter with Key’s agency SM Entertainment a few weeks ago. As the fans who reserved their tickets two weeks ago have been informed of the altered schedule, we believe there won’t be any problems.”

After teasing the fans, SHINee is finally ready to reveal their title track “Everybody" through a special performance at the 2013 Gangnam Hallyu Festival held today.
