I hate and love kpop?

^^ In general I ignore it when anybody refer to the girl groups' growing up as women as "slutty". I've actually seen some of the "slutty" girl groups' videos and I feel they're fine and not pornographic as some people have claimed. I will say that some have gone too far with the sexy concepts but how many times do I have to see 18-20-ish girl members jumping around stage, holding lollipops and trying to sing like they haven't gone through puberty already?

To make it relevant to the original topic, I will add that I hate it when K-pop switch between sexy, cutesy concepts. A lot of the times they don't have much range. One girl group expected to have the concept of being edgy will eventually do a cutesy concept or a sexy concept.

lol looks like we got waaay off topic but thats fine. I'm a guy and I don't see anything wrong with "slutty" girl groups could be the fact that its normal to me haha. As for guy groups they show a lot of skin too but it doesnt bother me I see it as inspiration to get abs just like them lol. So when fans say girl groups have become more "slutty" I think those fans are just insecure as hell.

I get what you mean, honestly.

Personally, I'm sick of seeing slutty girl groups and "gangster" boy groups.

The sound of the music is even becoming more and more westernized (ex. 2NE1, BAP, BTS, etc.) and the fans are getting more and more annoying, or so it seems.

I choose to stay an avid fan of kpop, but I stick to the groups I got into when I joined the fandom and I ignore everyone else.

Why let other people ruin something you like? Just ignore them and listen to the music. <3

I can relate completely, it's like one day I was into kpop and the next I just went and deleted every Korean song. In fact the only reason I even made this account was because I discovered my old playlist and was just checking up on the artists to see if they had any new stuff. I listened to maybe two new tracks and I was just like "nah I'm not getting back into this stuff"

Same here. I started to hate it. It's like well, when I started to listen to Kpop ,it was like SS501 was still famous, I guess 4 years ago or something. New bands are all same, as mentioned above, they all try to look like gansters and which ends up being a failure since no gangster would put on this much makeup and also try to look cute. It's like two different worlds colliding. Anyway, things in it are starting to get annoying, literally. And also fans, new kpop fans drive me crazy. I mean not all of them, but there are ones not listening to music but looking at their "oppa"s and it's like they are all mad about them.I'm really fed up with this.
I have no word to say girl bands since I even gave up checking them. No voice no clever dance nothing. Just them with revealing clothes and makeup that would hella paint a house. It all has turned into a crap.

Totally.... but I do have to accept I was like that when I first knew about kpop and everything related to Korea. But now, it's been 4 years since that, and now I barely listen to kpop. I'm about to enter to university and my mayor is going to be concentrated in the study of Asian Languages, that's why I studied Korean. So that is my only relation with Koreans. I think it's because where growing up. When I started listening to Kpop I was little and thought this was my life, but know as I'm growing up I'm discovering Kpop is not the only genre hahaha

I think you have several years of knowing them, like me. But this fans you're saying, are new fans That still think kpop is their life. But give them a few years, they will calm down. As I did. It's because is new for them, that they act this way. I will never stop liking Korea, but now my interests are a little different. I'm hoping to go to Korea to get a job there, maybe in the embassy, and not to meet my OPPAS (Uuugh, hate that word)

But I don't know, maybe it's just me...

i don't really like revealing what music i listen to because it makes me feel like "one of those fans" so i keep it to myself
I feel like i'm old now, I can't memorize names and faces [save for one group, which took a long time]

I used to listen to kpop a lot, but now I'm going more towards k indie and classical music .. figure skating music .. lolSí Últimamente estoy viendo dramas, pero eso es principalmente porque tengo a mi mamá adicta a ellos, y la música, no sé no encuentro ningún grupo particularmente interesante ahora ... es triste.

KPop is starting to lose its novelty for me, sure I was gaga over it in the beginning but now there's like a new boyband/ girlgroup out every other day of the week, frankly it's hard to keep up! Aside from that, these groups are gettin' too manufactured & lack originality. It's unnerving to watch these girlgroups resort to wearing skimpy outfits & doin' risqué dance moves because well, Sex Sells. The boybands are into these Swag and whatnot, tryin' too hard to be gangsta... ugh, yea I'm just a casual listener right now.

Like most people here, I've also lost my interest in kpop. Like 3-4 years ago I was sooo obsessed with it and now I barely have any kpop songs on my iPod and if I do have any they're mostly fairly old ones. Idk, I think I just grew out of it and became bored bc a lot of the stuff sounded samey. A lot of the kpop stuff now just doesn't appeal to me in the same way anymore.

2 years ago I could only listen to Kpop. Nowadays I listen to a little bit of everything.
I guess I'm just getting a bit bored by kpop at the moment, but that might change again.
Sometimes I have these periods of time that I don't feel like listening to it at all, but other times I'm searching for new songs and bringing back memories from my old favourites.
Also when I visit kpop meetings I'm just going there to see the people I haven't seen in a while. xD I can't really talk along about kpop artists with them, because I am terrible with names. And I'm more into the actual music than what the favourite food of a kpop star is, for example. :P It's fine with me though when people are fangirling/boying, but some take it to the next level. In an inappropriate way. So there were moments that I backed away from kpop, but I realize now that the most important thing is how you experience the music and you shouldn't ruin it for yourself by focusing on the fans and other things around it you might not like.
I get your points though. I felt like I was getting too old for kpop too. x)
But now I'm just trying to ignore the over-obsessive people on Facebook for example, because I don't want the annoyance I feel towards them ruin my perception of kpop. :3
