*** With the film "Concrete Utopia", Park Seo Joon, since his last screen success with “Midnight Runners”, tasted success once again on the big screen. While he hit home runs one after another on the small screen, he faced some disappointment in terms of box office success on the big screen with films like “The Divine Fury” and “Dream”. With “Concrete Utopia”, he achieved a balance in his career. Moreover, this film is unique as it marks his first collaboration with a distinguished actor Lee Byung Hun since his early days as an actor. While he had led both dramas and films as a young actor, in the movie, he managed to share the screen with Lee Byung Hun and created a presence of his own. Park Seo Joon remains grounded and humble. In an interview around the release of the movie, he stated, “As long as I continue acting, my filmography will continue to exist. There may be representative works, or there may not be, but I don’t want to be overly obsessed with it. I think of every project as fate. What I’ve accumulated so far is my current filmography. I don’t know what other connections will come in the future, but I want to always do my best and be faithful in every moment.“ With the movie, he attended the 48th Toronto International Film Festival, marking his first appearance on a large international film festival stage in his career. The film’s success is a reflection of the achievements of its actors. His next projects include Netflix’s original series “Gyeongseong Creature” and the highly anticipated release of “The Marvels” in November. I eagerly anticipate what new role he will bring to the big screen soon.   :happydance:

*** Kang Daniel and Park Seo Joon were seen together at a pop-up store event on September 14. (Noice pop-up store) I'm glad seeing my 2-Oppas together as the former posted endearing photos with Park Seo Joon on social media. Kang Daniel was seen hugging him with the caption, "Cuddly… hehe". This photograph was captured at the event. Park Seo Joon attended one of the final concerts of the group Wanna One back in 2019. This sweet photograph has made me into a frenzy. This picture is all over the social media.   :loveu:

She Was Pretty turns 8: 3 reasons why Park Seo Joon and Hwang Jung Eum's classic K-drama still shines

Park Seo Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Go Joon Hee and Super Junior’s Choi Siwon starrer She Was Pretty has reached their 8th anniversary. Read ahead to know more.

1906842332_parkseojoon_hwangjungeum.jpg

Key Highlights

  • Celebrating 8 years of She Was Pretty
  • The drama stars Park Seo Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Choi Siwon and others

The drama follows the life of Kim Hye Jin (Hwang Jung Eum) who was known to be the most beautiful girl in her neighborhood and turns ‘ugly’ as she grows into an adult. She comes across her childhood friend Ji Sung Joon (Park Seo Joon) who changed a lot. Feeling insecure, she made her best friend pretend to be her. Ending up in the same office as him, she had to hide her real identity and thus began the complicated love square story called She Was Pretty

Here are some reasons why She Was Pretty is known to be a classic K-drama

The love square:

While love triangles are pretty common in the K-dramas, the older dramas were known for love squares, in which the main couple like each other but the secondary characters like them too, making it messy and complicated. Ji Sung Joon liked Min Ha Ri (Go Joon Hee) when she was pretending to be Kim Hye Jin and she liked him back. Kim Shin Hyuk (Choi Siwon) fell for the real Kim Hye Jin while working together while Sung Joon hated her due to many misunderstandings. As the two men and Hye Jin began spending time together, Sung Joon also began falling for her after he found the similarities between her and his childhood friend. There are many jealousy scenes as well as the second leads getting left behind when the main couple comes together.

The confession of love in the last few episodes:

Another classic K-drama thing- the frustrating wait for the confessions of love between the main couple. It is painfully obvious how much they love each other but the layers of misunderstanding and interrupted moments lead to the confession happening last minute. Ji Sung Joon began loving Kim Hye Jin earlier in the story but because he didn’t know who she really was until the end. Even after they reconciled as friends and got rid of any misunderstandings, she pretended to be just a close friend because she did not want to hurt her best friend’s feelings.

The characters:

One of the downsides of this drama and most classic K-dramas was caricatured characters. Kim Hye Jin is overly clumsy and loud while Ji Sung Joon is cold-hearted in the beginning and Kim Shin Hyuk is unpredictable but in reality, he is a prince-like gentleman. They are not really relatable or realistic in any way as compared to the characters today.

Despite the many flaws, it is still a nostalgic drama for many and can also be a good drama to understand the series’ released in the 2000s to early 2010s.

Park Seo Joon Sends 3 Coffee Trucks To IU’s Drama Set + IU Makes Hilarious Response

Park Seo Joon Sends 3 Coffee Trucks To IU’s Drama Set + IU Makes Hilarious Response

Park Seo Joon made a sweet show of support for his former co-star IU!

On September 19, IU revealed on Instagram Stories that Park Seo Joon had thoughtfully sent not one, but three food trucks to the set of her upcoming drama “You Have Done Well” (literal translation).

Posting a collage of the three trucks and tagging Park Seo Joon with a cute photo, IU expressed her gratitude and awe at his generosity. Referring to Park Seo Joon by the name of his character from their recent film “Dream,” IU wrote, “Hong Dae oppa..? Why are you so generous..?”

IU also posted a photo of the food from the trucks, along with Park Seo Joon’s message cheering on IU and the “You Have Done Well” team—and cracked up fans by adding a hilarious note.

Posting a shot of Park Seo Joon’s message declaring that he had prepared the trucks for “Soon Ae,” IU playfully pointed out that the name of her character in “You Have Done Well” is actually Ae Soon, not Soon Ae.

“But Hong Dae oppa, I’m Ae Soon, not Soon Ae,” wrote IU, before adding a cute emoji. “Thank you. I enjoyed the food, Seo Joon.”

Last month, IU similarly showed support for Park Seo Joon by sending a coffee truck to the set of his drama “Gyeongseong Creature.”

WWWSK, Fight for my way are real rom com ...

Don't know why they have IC in the list .

@yaya1241 hahaha - I do agree with you - It's a story of revenge, romance and rebellion while "Fight For My Way" is indeed a rom-com drama & it's not included on the list.  :fun:
