Oh no... It looks like people are gonna know who "AWESOMED" their posts when they were talking good stuff about Canada.

I like the feature though! It makes me realize that I was guessing the wrong people "AWESOMING" ME in the past! (That's what I do when I'm bored).

My hunch was right on most of the people who flagged me.
Also was right that there was one member who was just out to get me on post they didn't agree with.
Haha

Hi @tessieroo, @Mannosuke, @aurora82What browser and operating system are you guys using?Have you guys checked your Drafts folder to see if it got auto-saved as a draft? :x
BTW, the width of the forum on Safari (including iPad), and some Windows browsers should be fixed now. Please report if it's still squished for you (after several refreshes to get the new style)

hmm - @Kennedy21 - do you mean PM's specifically? what browser / OS?
Another issue might be that the new stylesheet may not have loaded fully on your browsers - for me, it seems to be going back and forth depending on whether there is a #latest trailing on the URL, which could be hampering things.. (hopefully it's just that).
Try to give your browser a couple of good refreshes, and make sure the reactions look correctly spaced (not all bunched on the right side together). That's how you can differentiate if you're getting the old style or new one :x

@soomp

Thank you for the 'solution' to the abuse of the flag button.

Now, I tracked the a few flags I have made in the past, and to my surprise, the posts have been edited. The text I regarded as spam (I trust my judgement) got replaced by pictures. What an easy fix! At least the forum gives the user a chance to turn the spam post to an appropriate post. However, this does not help in holding the spammers accountable for the spams they have made. They can easily edit the posts and replace the spam with appropriate text and it will be easy to push the blame to the flagger---that the flagger had flagged the post not because he believed that the post was spam but he just flagged out of spite. Now I have undoed the spams I have made because the evidence that I can use to legitimise my flag is gone. It has become a disadvantage to me who does not abuse the flagging system (I don't abuse it simply because I don't want this same mechanism to be used against me, h).

Can't soompi make the users responsible for what they post through the disabling the edit button and for what they mark as spam/abusive through the disabling of the undoing of the button... after a period of time? This way, if ever a user makes a spam/abusive post, he will not be able to edit the post after some time... if ever a user misuses the button, he will not be able to undo the marking of spam/abusive.

I hope you can think about this suggestion.

Thank you, @soomp and everyone in soompi. :)

Edit:

And so I noticed that the solution is gone. :)) I suppose it got activated to see how it looks like?

Anyway, this problem of mine still persists:

- Layout is still narrow (Mac OS X 10.6.8, Firefox 14) Too much space on the sides.

I think the lol/awesome/insightful should remain anonymous, Only reveal the flagger.
Sometime some user spamm or abuse without realizing or too excited posting. After being flag may be she realize she was wrong and edited the comment. @Eja I did that too (sometime) in the Inhyun couple thread. I think people in the thread know if the flag button was abuse or not and the post always mark as edited once we edit.. so everyone know if the comment was edited or not, don't worry about being wrongly miss judge (if you use the flag correctly) one way is to quote her than flag. There;s no way she can edit your comment. Just a tot..
Anyway whether lock or unlock the edit button it does not matter because what we want to achieve is ppl not to spam/abuse the thread or abuse the flag button.

ps: i post on 21 july '12, then i edit it on 22 july on 0.30, based my watch at home, hehehehe
i edit it based on @Eja request and its tottally fine with me

@soomp

i want to pouring my feeling and my opinion:

now, i know who gave me 3 spam in a row !!!!!!!, i though it was a new member, but know i know, that it was senior member who always post on wise sentences, ckckckckck.

thanks for your new system. now i know who gave lot of spam on Big and Gaksital thread.

he/she is a same person, and h/she gave spam without strong reason. whether the person who received the spam is already edit or not edit his/her posting. that same person is just talk bla bla bla bla, actualy he/she right now is on afrraid to handle the situation because that same person always royal gave spam to that thread, not only me, but many, thats why, that same person is said that the person who received the spam already edit it. wkwkwwkkwk, don't make another bull. your character already exposed by most of us. just admit what you did, and stop make any execuse like that !!! i think that same person is already has some personal issue, because he/she gave me 3 spam in a row. ckckckckckckk

the face like an angel but the attitude like Judas .  >> i made it not for Eja, and before i edit it, i bold my word, thats on this post there is no contain eja name or eja id, i pure post this to @soomp to express my feeling about flag contest. so this sentences is not for Eja. and this sentences is not related to other sentences or other paragraph, since from earlier i write this on different paragraph.

sorry to say, but right know i'm angry because 3 spam in a row for one person who gave me, if its one spam, i could let it go, but this is 3 spam. and many of us got flag from that same person. so the issue not on us who received the spam but from the person gave us spam.

my point : not always the person who received the spam is the main issue. but in my opinion the person who like give spam is the real main issue.

@xopo17 If you were referring to me, I hope you are not accusing me of something I didn't do.

:)

I didn't go on a spamming frenzy in the Gaksital thread just like what you are accusing me of. I was there, I knew the people who were flagged, and lol, I wasn't the one who flagged them. I have flagged you three times, 2 times lead to me directly messaging you the issue I had. And mind you, the spams I have removed are not your posts, it was in the Joo Sang Wook thread.

;)

I don't take things personal, it is not YOU, the person, I had problems with, it was the posts you made and yet you get back at me by hurling an ad hominem attack towards me. :'(

I stand by my flags which I thought were appropriate, and if there are people who needs to 'correct' my flag if there is a time there has been a lapse of judgement on my part and tell me what I thought wasn't the case, they are the moderators because they are the arbiter. I am not afraid. I am not afraid to be corrected.

My tot about flagging
There's a few type of flaggers .. some flag for fun like mannosuke did to me, some flag to keep order in the thread/forum, some can't differentiate between criticism and bashing (very thin line separating them), some flag because she hates the poster..
I think if we are sincere to correct anyone, the first thing we should do is to pm her (this is the best way), we won't embarrass anyone unnecessarily and the other way is to quote her and tell her the nicest way that you can think of.
Some people did not spam on purpose... some people spam on purpose... we should be able to differentiate that. If we just flag anyone without informing her the reason, she won't be able to correct it. You'll gain nothing except demotivate ppl from posting... may be she's a very active forumer that dig news and post. That create gif etc etc... that keep a thread active and may be because of the spamming flag she stop posting and stop contributing ... and when we flagged ppl .. what rule we refer to? Soompi rule or "MY" rule?
Some ppl feel embarrassed when being flagged... especially when we don't know who's the flagger. Is it the regulars? Is it someone we look up too? Is it the mod? is it soomp? kekekekkeke
So this will demotivate some ppl.... create angst in the thread... we may become suspicious start flagging ppl that we think flag us... NOT A GOOD feeling neh...
We spent our time here to destressed and detoxic our hectic life. Forum is for fun especially entertainment forum such as this... especially drama thread... the key word here is FUN .... have fun..
So ... I think exposing the flagger is the best way to keep forum interesting and fun ... and if she/he really spamm.. why afraid to flag them.. I am not afraid to flag a real spammer and abuser (porn poster, actor bashing, member bashing, site promoter etc etc)...
So thank you soomp for this nice features..
Ja' I won't "spamm" this thread anymore =))... peace :D

@ all moderator and @soomp

thanks for this thread. right now My business and problem with @Eja is already clear. according @Eja 's request about my posting earlier at above that Eja wants i to edit it, than i'll edit asap after this posting.

@Bambiina : i like your posting, like usuall ,i like your usuall style of posting on Kdrama is ful of LOL, wkwkwkwk. :))

i would like to say many thanks to @soomp , soompi owner, and moderator for the new system that we able to see the person who gave us spam. to me is good innovation. because : before this new system, like @Bambiina said earlier, i always have a lot of wrong accussation or become heavy suspicious to others member when i want to posting, and discourage me to active or post on soompi forum. and i am sorry to other member in soompi whom maybe got my wrong accussation/suspicious about this flag contest before the new system is introduce on flag system right now.

lets have fun on soompi, and lot of LOL  > muachhh :)

Imagine when someone finds out that the one anonymously flagging most of her posts in disagreement was her friend all these times... Oh man they won't be Facebook friends anymore.

I wonder how many flaggers are sweating bullets right now or trying to undo their flaggings.
But I've noticed most of those who played with the "Flag/Insightful/Awesome/LOL" were quiet people who don't really post much.
So it's kinda funny if people are like "Now I know who flagged me! Uhhhh who's this guy?".
