mmym25
Thanks, jjyy738! Your translation effort is truly appreciated. =) My link This is the English translation I tried to come up with: Actors Lee Byung-hun, Son Yejin and Bong Joon-ho are the recipients of Asia Pacific Screen Awards this year(selected by APN). APN(Asia-Pacific Producers Network) is an organization constituted by more than one hundred film producers from ten countries from Asia-Pacific region, including Korea, Australia, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. In the 6th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, which will soon take place from August 12 to August 14, APN will give Asia-Pacific Screen Awards to Lee Byune-hun, Son Yejin and Bong Joon-ho. With regard to the awards this time, APN says, "Lee Byung-hun shows the brilliance of Asia through TV series 'Iris' and Hollywood blockbuster 'G.I..Joe'; Son Yejin has grown to be the representative actress of Korea through the film 'White Night' and TV series 'Personal Taste'; the films directed Bong Joon-ho, 'The Host' and 'Mother,' establish box office success while receiving critical claims internationally. Normally, APN Awards will select one awardee every year in the country where the APN awards is held. Starting from this year, the awards will expand into three separate categories: Actor, Actress and Director. Lee Byung-hun, Son Yejin, and director Bong Joon-ho will attend the Jecheon International Music & Film festival on August 13 and receive the APN Screen Awards. mmym25
Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Bong Joon-ho to win APN Awards By Chung Ah-young The Asian-Pacific Producers Networks (APN) will honor Korean actor Lee Byung-hun, actress Son Ye-jin and film director Bong Joon-ho at the APN Awards for their contributions to the film industry in the region. The 5th APN Awards will be held at the Jecheon International Music and Film Festival in North Chungcheong Province from Aug. 12 to 14. APN is a network of some 100 current film producers from 10 Asia-Pacific countries ― Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. From this year, the organization will expand the number of winners from one actor or actress of the host country of the APN general meeting to three categories ― actor, actress and director. Known as a “hallyu” star, Lee recently starred in the popular television drama series “Iris (2009)” and his debut Hollywood film “G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009).” Son also performed various characters in the film “White Night (2009)” and television dramas “Spotlight (2008)” and “Personal Taste (2010).” Bong has been internationally recognized for his masterful films “The Host (2006)” and “Mother (2009).” Cannes-award winning actress Jeon Do-yeon received the award for “Secret Sunshine” in 2007, while Japanese actor Kenichi Matsuyama won the award for his performance in “Death Note” in 2008. Chinese actress Xun Zhou who acted in “The Banquet (2006),” “Painted Skin (2008)” and “Confucius (2010)” was honored in 2009. chungay@koreatimes.co.kr Source: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/special/2010/08/178_71196.html

Guest kdramafanusa
Hello everyone, I haven't been on Soompi for months, hello to all Ye-Jin fans here. She looks gorgeous at the award ceremony. She lost weigh.. Actually i want her to work with director Park Chan Wook- i know he's very commercial and somewhat dark (and for some, even overrated) but i think he's a genius. Been wondering what he could do to SYJ as an actress. I remember reading that Ye-Jin was offered the leading role of director Park's last film "Bat" (the lead actor's Song Kang-Ho), but she turned it down. I don't know if it's true or not. The role went to Kim Ok-Bin at the end, she did a great job.
