2PM's Taecyeon shows support for Baek Ah Yeon at her musical performance

2PM's Taecyeon was recently seen being a loyal friend to Baek Ah Yeon, a fellow JYP Entertainment artist, as he posted up a supportive message via Twitter after watching her musical performance.

On January 3, Taecyeon wrote, "I'm happy to have watched your last performance~ Good job, good job~~" along with an adorable image of him and Baek Ah Yeon. In the photo, Baek Ah Yeon was seen still in her Cinderella costume and makeup, looking flushed from her performance.

The vice president of JYP Entertainment, Jongrok Pyo, also tweeted after seeing Baek Ah Yeon's performance, revealing that the young singer had shed tears during the last curtain call. He wrote, "I was happy to see that she had done so well on her first musical, but then got emotional when I saw her shedding tears during the curtain call."

Tzuyu Controversy (starting 12/1/2016) affect other JYP artist including 2PM especially Nichkhun and Chansung

This week has been tough for 16-year old TWICE member Tzuyu after an innocent action became a political out roar in Asia. 

In a late November 2015 episode of My Little Television broadcast by MBC, JYP Entertainment power rookies TWICE was given the task to hold up a flag of their country of origin as the group is composed of members of different nationalities.

For member Tzuyu, who was born in Taiwan, greeted online viewers as Taiwanese and held up a Taiwan flag.

Following the broadcast, Taiwanese and China-based singer Huang An took to his Weibo where he accused Tzuyu of being an Taiwanese independence activist, calling her a traitor. Mainland China government (People’s Republic of China) considers Taiwan as under its jurisdiction though many of the islanders considers themselves independent from them, representing themselves as the Republic of China.

Since the broadcast, backlash from Tzuyu’s actions have piled on with both Chinese media and netizens criticizing the younger Taiwanese K-Pop singer. TWICE’s activities, including endorsements and scheduled appearance, were cancelled and/or suspended as well as broadcasting station TBV among others to ban the girl group from ever appearing.

The backlash continued with Chinese netizens boycotting JYP Entertainment as a whole while trending #boycottJYP on Weibo (with over 68 million hits as of January 14th according to TV Report) and various Chinese media taking down anything in regards to TWICE on their platforms.

The Tzuyu scandal has also affected other JYP Entertainment artists who carry out activities in China as well including Nichkhun‘s solo activities and 2PM‘s promotions.

Despite commenting that Tzuyu has no political agenda, JYP Entertainment was spotted having allegedly changed Tzuyu’s official profile which went from “Nationality: Taiwan” to “Birthplace: Taiwan” and finally “Birthplace: China Taiwan” with the latter written in Chinese.

2PM's Nichkhun and Taecyeon take on suits and casual wear in their latest pictorial for 'InStyle Korea'! 

During their interview, Nichkhun said, "Taecyeon always has a manly image, but in real life he's just full of aegyo. He has these gestures that are mixed with aegyo that come out naturally."

 

Taecyeon said, "Nichkhun is much more manly than most people. He's known to the public more so for his looks, but internally he has a strong personality and puts importance in professionalism during work."

They also shared, "The 'beast-dol' image for 2PM is still there, but we put down that title a long time ago. As we've gotten older, we think we have to put away the word 'dol' (idol). We're just beasts."

2PM sings of 'Time Spent Together' in their newest Japanese release

2PM has released their latest Japanese MV - "Time Spent Together"!
 
The MV is for their upcoming Japanese tour 'Galaxy of 2PM', which also may be their last tour together before the members might start enlisting soon in 2016. Taking that into account, the title and the lyrics of the songs are touching and fans will definitely want to take a listen.
