my favorite event in Toronto lol
http://www.toronto.com/winterlicious?actio...r_spot_3_629796

from January 29 - February 11, 2010.

Have you guys decide where you are going this year?

My bf and I ate at Jump Cafe last year, the gnocchi was amazing! Too bad they don't have it on their menu this year :(

Where do you guys recommend going?

Let's bounce some suggestions around each other!!

you pay the flat rate for a 3 course menu and price varies by restaurant. dinner is more expensive. book early.

canoe is also recommended

I went to Lai Toh Heen last year for Winterlicious. I enjoyed it. ^_^

I'm looking forward to trying out a new restaurant this year! I don't have time to browse the list right now but I'll be sure to do it later.

the menu for canoe isn't that appetizing this year imo...

I've been to the following (all are from normal days and not winterlicious.):

six step

trappers

beer bistro

canoe

senses (LOVE IT)

alice fazoolis

acqua

Far Niente

Edo

Four

Going to:

Big daddy's crab shack and oyster bar

Jump Cafe and bar.

Wishes it is part of winterlicious:

Ki.... absolutely love that restaurant!

I went to Vagabond last weekend and I really don't recommend it.

First - Bruschette bread

Not too bad

Second - Calamari or verde salad

I had the salad and it wasn't too great. My friends who chose calamari didn't like their's either.

Third - Grilled salmon, smoked salmon fettucine, veal

I had the salmon fettucine and it was not appetizing at all. The salmon was minced to tiny pieces had a very unappealing burnt smell. The only thing that was good was the grilled salmon.

Dessert - Caramel crunch

I really liked it. My friend told me I could've got it at Sobey

^^ i loved Auberge du Pommier when I went their for summerlicious. You MUST get their cold pea soup for appetizer if it's on the winter menu.

5th Element is apparently good with portions. I went last year for lunch. It was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. So one of those places that is only worth to go once.

I think I'm going to try Far Niente this year. I always pass by it when I walk to Union.
