[SBS Star] Moon Geun Young in Talks to Make Her Small Screen Comeback

Actress Moon Geun Young is considering making her small screen comeback for the first time in four years. On February 27, seveal news outlets reported that Moon Geun Young will be joining tvN's new drama 'Catch Yoo Ryung' (literal translation) as the female lead.

If she accepts the offer, Moon Geun Young will play 'Yoo Ryung', a rookie detective with exceptional spatial perception abilities. She joins a subway station's constabulary to find her missing autistic twin sibling.

In response to the report, Moon Geun Young's management agency NAMOO ACTORS stated, "It is true that Moon Geun Young has received an offer to join 'Catch Yoo Ryung'. She is currently reviewing the script."

Back in February 2017, Moon Geun Young announced her indefinite hiatus after being diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome. Her last drama appearance was SBS' 'The Village: Achiara's Secret' in 2015.

Moon Geun Young In Talks To Star In A Drama For The First Time In 4 Years

Moon Geun Young is preparing to return to the small screen for the first time in four years!

On February 27, news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that Moon Geun Young will be appearing in tvN’s upcoming drama “Catch Yoo Ryung” (literal title) as the main character Yoo Ryung, who joins the Wangsimni subway station constabulary as a rookie detective to find her missing autistic twin sibling with her pseudo-psychic spatial perception abilities.

A source from her agency Namoo Actors stated, “It is true that Moon Geung Young has received an offer for ‘Catch the Ghost.’ We are currently looking over it.”

In February 2017, Moon Geung Young was diagnosed with Acute Compartment Syndrome and took a break from activities after surgery. After recovering fully last year, she began appearing on several variety shows such as MBC’s “Those Who Cross the Line.”

If she decides to take on this drama, she will be appearing in her first drama in four years since “The Village Achiara’s Secret” in 2015.

“Catch Yoo Ryung” is a romantic investigative drama about a woman named Yoo Ryung who solves cases with her overflowing sense of justice and exceptional spatial perception but always gets herself into trouble because of her rash actions. She meets the Wangsimni station constabulary chief, a man who avoids cases and seeks stability. However, he always ends up cleaning up after the problems caused by Yoo Ryung and holds the key to the solving the cases. The drama will be directed by producing director (PD) Shin Yoon Seob of “Rooftop Prince” and “Please Come Back, Mister” and penned by writers So Won and Lee Young Joo.

Moon Geun Young names Block B's P.O. as her ideal type!

Ahead of the March 9 airing of MBC's 'Those Who Cross Borders', actress Moon Geun Young revealed her surprise ideal type!

 

On the upcoming episode, actress Moon Geun Young, history teacher Seol Min Suk, and Yoo Byung Jaepartnered up to explore the history hidden on Jeju island. While discussing some of the "handsomest" men in Korea's liberation history, Seol Min Suk asked Moon Geun Young about her ideal type. Moon Geun Young replied, "I don't particularly have one, and I just like people who appear good in my eyes." 

 

However, when Yoo Byung Jae argued, "Lee Na Young said the same thing but then she married Won Bin." To this, Moon Geun Young laughed in agreement before adding, "P.O!"

 

The actress further elaborated on the reason why she chose P.O, "He has a pretty smile, and he seems to treat others with kindness." Shyly commenting that she has never met P.O. in real life and only seen him through TV broadcasts, Moon Geun Young quietly shared, "I'll always cheer you on~"
