私は中学8年生ぐらいの時から日本の音楽や漫画に興味が始まったんだけど、好きな曲の意味が分かりたくなって、日本語を習いたかったよ^^

日本語が分かったらいろいろ便利ですね(笑)

Konbanwa (good evening)

I'm currently taking Japanese (Level 1) and loving the course. Too bad it's only a weekly class but any more would probably f*** me up since I'm in college full time (so much damn homework). Anyways, currently learning basic dialogue and some classroom expressions and obviously learned some hiragana letters.

can someone explain to me what じゃん and さあ / さーぁ are ? i tried to get explanations in japan and everyone said 'they mean nothing' . i know they serve some sort of purpose though , even if they don't have a real meaning , so can anyone enlighten me ? please ?

This is what I say.. whether it's proper, I do not know.

I don't know what you're talking about: Iu koto ga wakaranai 言う事が分からない

What are you saying: Nani ga itteiruka 何が言っているか

Ok well, I know じゃん really has no meaning and I personally don't ever use it. さあ, however, means (conj, int) come; come now.. like さあ列車がきた。(Here comes the train.)
