Song JoongKi’s head cover stirs a ‘bald’ speculation

Descendants of the Sun star Song Joong-ki is speculated to have gone bald! After the hero of the super-hit Korean drama swept Asia with record ratings, there have been widespread rumours and all kinds of speculations about his next move—that also includes a sequel to the successful series (read about the possibilities of Descendants of the Sun II starring Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo here).

Meanwhile, there are talks about Song Joong-ki donning the role of another soldier in his next film Battleship Island, for which the actor-heartthrob is supposed to go bald. The film begins shooting in June. But the million-dollar question now is, has the star already tonsured his head?

Seems that a photograph of the star wearing a cap has stirred a speculation that the star has already shaven his head.

But where did that picture come from? His latest photo, shared on the actor’s official fan page, shows Song Joong-ki smile while wearing a black hat. Fans believe he has already gone bald. The Facebook fan page also revealed that the actor just made another endorsement for Hite Beer.

However, another picture of Song Joong-ki posing in a gym was posted hours ago on social media showing the star donning a cap with strands of hair protruding through a gap. But the time when the photo was taken couldn’t be confirmed.

After his successful appearance in the hit Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun", actor Song Joong-ki is extremely busy with his on-going Asian tour. 

Gamenguide reported on Wednesday that the 30-year-old actor is ready for his scheduled visit to Bangkok, Thailand, on May 7. Soon after that, he will be visiting Beijing, where he is known for his performance following the success of the "Descendants of the Sun."

Although many of you have come to know about him recently as the dashing Army Capt. Yoo Shi-jin in the recent hit series "Descendants of the Sun," he didn't receive this fame overnight. The actor has shown his versatility in diverse acting roles since his debut in 2008.

The recent drama has played a huge part in Song's success. His cute character as an Army Captain has charmed the viewers across the globe. He has started receiving offers for a number of projects and endorsements after this.

While Song is enjoying this happy hour of his career, many people have expressed their concern for the actor's health. The netizens feel that the actor is looking tired and sick at his recent appearances.

Apart from all the commercial endorsements and media appearances, the actor is also busy practicing his scenes for his upcoming film titled "Detective Hong Gil-dong" This was announced at a press conference held on Monday.

According to Korea Herald, another film titled "Battleship Island" is also lined up in his bag. "Battleship Island" is a period film about Korea's Japanese occupation. Song Joong-ki would be playing the character of an independence fighter who would take the responsibility of rescuing the Korean fighters who were captured by Japan. Song's character will be named as Park Moo-young.

The actor considers Park's role a dream come true. In an interview with Gamen Guide the actor said, "I really want to do a period piece set in the Japanese occupation era. With this film, I've cleared one longtime goal."

However, he made it very clear that he won't be leaving his pretty boy image as he had promised his fans to maintain his "young-looking skin". "I am going to prevent aging as much as possible," he added.

Well, considering the fact that Song is the endorser of top cosmetic brands in China and South Korea it might not be that difficult for him to "prevent aging".

Song Joong Ki admits he'd like a 'cool' role as he attempts to steer away from chivalrous, cute roles

Song Joong Ki says he wants to get away from the chivalrous, cute roles that propelled him to success in the drama series, "Descendants of the Sun."

The 30-year-old, best-known for his role as Captain Yoo Si Jin, the sweetly, gallant boyfriend of Dr. Kang Mo Yeon, played by Song Hye Kyo in the mega-hit drama, said that he is now keen to play a role that has a cold personality.

"I think there are sides of me that are like that. A thriller could be fun, too." Korea Herald quoted the actor as saying to a group interview at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on April 15. "I'm a fan of Edward Norton and if you see his early works, he plays a lot of those roles."

In June 2009, Joong Ki revealed his desire to assume cold roles like Jang Jun Hyuk, played by Kim Myung Min in 2007's "Behind The White Tower," Drama Beans reported. In the drama, Jun Hyuk is an ambitious and cold doctor, who is determined to get what he wants at all cost.

Joong Ki, whose other notable roles include Kang Ma Ru in "The Innocent Man," sees his next role in the upcoming "Battleship Island" film, as part of his effort to move away from charming roles and stressed that it is a dream come true for him.

"I really wanted to do a period piece set in the Japanese occupation era," he revealed. "With this film, I've cleared one longtime goal."

In the film, Joong Ki will portray Park Moo Young, an independence warrior who penetrates the walled-up island to rescue a group of captured fellow Korean fighters. With a 2017 intended release window, the film explores the concealed story of 400 Korean laborers who were persuasively taken by the Japanese military to the Hashima Island to work in the coal mines during World War II.

Although the actor admitted that he wanted to break free from his cute roles, Joong Ki revealed that he does not want to relinquish his pretty-boy image and stressed that realistically, looks offer an advantage to an actor.

Due to his skyrocketed popularity, Joong Ki said that he feels burned with responsibility and that he have to work harder and concentrate more on his craft, as he does not want to disappoint the local and international fans who are supporting him.

Daebak’s Mom Compares Him To A Young Song Joong Ki With Photos

Daebak’s mother Lee Soo Jin has taken to Instagram to share some evidence of what she thinks may be a resemblance between Daebak and top star Song Joong Ki!

On April 29, Lee Soo Jin shared a screenshot of a “The Return of Superman” fan’s Instagram post that compares a photo of a young, chubby-cheeked Song Joong Ki to her own adorable son Daebak.

She writes as the caption in Korean, “He looks like Song Joong Ki. Sorry, sorry.” She adds in English, “Do you see the similarity? Sorry, Song Joong Ki fans… However, I hope he would grow up like him after 20 years [sic]. Let’s wait and see. :)”

Song Joong Ki recently shot to stardom with his lead role in the hit drama “Descendants of the Sun.” Meanwhile, Daebak is currently appearing along with his father Lee Dong Gook and four older sisters on “The Return of Superman.”

He doesn't want to lose the nickname, "Pretty Boy".

Not only that, he said, "I learned romance through Yoo Si-jin. What he says is exactly what girls want to hear from their boyfriends and husbands" and defended Yoo Si-joon who is the result of writer Kim Eun-sook's fantasy. It's unclear if this attitude is coming from the popularity he gained, from Asian fans all over the world, or from the true heart of an actor. But one thing is for sure, and it's that he doesn't mind being used as a pretty and romantic guy.

Smart and athletic

Song Joong-ki is a smart actor. He was a short track racer for 12 years, since elementary school and he was a good student. He aced most subjects and that makes him look even better looking. He entered Sungkyunkwan University with a SAT result of 380 out of 400 and he was an anchor for the broadcasting team there. In addition, he was the winner of a TV show called "Quiz Korea".

Though it may seem irrelevant to acting, it played a part to make Song Joong-ki who he is today. He started acting at a later age but he was able to find his place so quickly because he is a model student like he has always been. He worked hard and he always made the right decisions every time there was a chance. He rose to stardom in the drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" then continued in "Deep-rooted Tree" as the younger version of Han Seok-Kyu's role.

Those around him tried to stop him because of the small part but he was acknowledged for his performance. When he was in the movie "Penny Pinchers", an interviewer asked him, 'Isn't it normal for a star to play cool roles first before degrading himself?' and he answered, 'That's one typical way of expanding one's spectrum. It's silly to follow the trend.' Song Joong-ki wants to be handsome and talented at the same time.

An actor who shines for his efforts

Song Joong-ki was famous for his good looks in school but he didn't get the main role at first. He did part-time jobs after school and traces of him from back in the day still remain today. He believed that 'not having talent can be turned into an opportunity.' He received the help of actor Lee Joon-hyeok during "A Werewolf Boy" and studied the movements of a wolf. While in "Deep-rooted Tree", he tried to understand the King Lee Do by reading back in history.

He was able to bring out his efforts without disturbance and completed his profile. Song Joong-ki won't mind being a soldier again. His next movie is "Battleship Island" which is about the escape of the Joseon people during the Japanese Invasion. This time, Song Joong-ki is going for the shave.

The impudence is an option

Song Joong-ki doesn't go in circles when it comes to interviews. He is able to go over sensitive questions with wit. He is humorous-he once said, "I like deep relationships. Others aren't fun. I like to express my feelings first".

Song Joong-ki hosted a music show that aims for teenage viewers when he was 26-years-old. He then starred in the SBS TV show "Running Man" too. It wasn't always uphill for him. He was criticized for his bad lead in a music awards show in 2011.

Song Joong-ki is able to control any situation on his own. He looks young but sturdy. He has become a 2016 star with his various talents. It is expected that he goes down paths that no other star has gone down before.
