Lee Min Jung Joins Shinhwa’s Andy And Eric On Upcoming Variety Show Filmed In Spain

Lee Min Jung will be a fixed member of a variety show for the first time!

 

On May 24, it was reported that the actress would be appearing on MBC every1’s new variety show “The Barber of Seville.” A source from MBC every1 then confirmed that she would be joining the show as a fixed member. Though she has previously appeared as a guest on variety shows, this will be her first time as a fixed member of a variety show.

 

Filmed in Spain, the variety show borrows its underlying motif from the opera of the same name. Alongside a barber with over 53 years of experience as well as top hair designers in Korea, a celebrity crew takes on a hair salon in Spain, showing what happens when East meets West. Shinhwa’s Andy and Eric have also been confirmed to appear on the show.

 

“The Barber of Seville” is slated to air in July.

Actress Lee Min Jung will be appearing on her first fixed variety show since debut - MBC's 'The Hairdresser of Seville'!

In the upcoming variety program, two of the top hairdressers of South Korea including a veteran hairdresser of 53-years as well as a renowned, top fashion hair designer will be traveling to an unfamiliar hair salon in Spain, for a whirlwind of intercultural experiences. 

The two hairdressers will be accompanied by a team of celebrity aids including Shinhwa's Eric, Andy, as well as actress Lee Min Jung.

Lee Min Jung Looks Focused As She Helps Run A Salon In Spain For New Variety Show

Upcoming MBC variety show “The Barber of Seville” has released its first stills of Lee Min Jung!

 

On July 2, viewers got their first look at the actress in Spain. Inspired by the opera of the same name, “The Barber of Seville” will show what happens when a barber of 53 years, top hair designers from Korea, and celebrities (Lee Min Jung, Shinhwa’s Eric and Andy, DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon, and Kim Kwang Kyu) take on a hair salon in Spain.

 

In the stills, Lee Min Jung climbs up a ladder to fix the sign, explains something to customers, and makes a sign with prices. This is the actress’s first appearance on a variety show as a fixed cast member. During filming, she took on every task with sincerity, was the first to come running when a problem arose, and resolved all difficulties.

 

 

 

The show shared these stills on MBC’s social media accounts and suggested new nicknames for Lee Min Jung, including “Captain Min Jung,” “Queen Min Jung,” and “Captain Lee.” 

 

“The Barber of Seville” premieres on July 11 at 10:10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki with English subtitles!
