Bad news, guys.

WG is not nominated for any MAMA 2010 awards http://mama.mnet.com/2010/en/AwardVote/AwardVote.asp

Not even Artiste of the Year (30 nominees), Song of the Year (45 nominees) or the Asian Wave prize (which looks like the successor for the Overseas Viewers' Award; 5 nominees).

No wonder they are going to Hangzhou.

SNSD is relatively overlooked too. I count 3 nominations for them (the usual categories), but they are notably shut out for SOTY & Best MV.

I think 2NE1 & -- surprisingly -- 4Minute got the most female nominations, including in solo categories for Hyuna & Park Bom.

Only chance for WG is the supplementary awards.

Personally, I don't see the point of gracing the show if MAMA doesn't rate WG as the 30th-ranked artiste or 2DT as the 45th-ranked song.

San-E reveals mystery male lead in new music video starring Sohee

New JYP Entertainment artist San-E has garnered a lot of attention with his debut single, “Tasty San“, and he recently revealed through his twitter that there’s a special event taking place for his upcoming new music video, “LoveSick“.

Wonder Girls’ Sohee has been chosen as the female lead for “LoveSick”, however, the male lead for the music video was a mystery. Over the past few days, San-E wanted people to guess on who the male lead could be and just a few hours ago, he revealed the answer on his twitter.

I'm not too upset that the girls weren't nominated because they come back properly next time with a new song, I'm sure the promotions will be longer(?) and their comeback would be much bigger. ^^

The WG-Wang Lee Hom photo is getting great coverage in the Chinese & Cantonese press.

I will translate one such report later. It is a cheeky one, noting the girls had once expressed a desire to work with him & they got to realize this at Yixing.

Hey, maybe that's why WG agreed to perform there! Lee Hom was the main (only) artiste linked to the show in previous publicity writeups.

i'm not surprised our girls didn't get any nominations as they only promote for 3 weeks in Korea this year. but i really hope they will perform..i was hoping they get the long time of performing..singing all their hit songs..that will be the good way of announcing their comeback!!

LIM (& likely Sohee) were already on a flight to America that night.

I don't think age is an issue if WG had attended for work purposes. In a way, it's kinda similar to when they performed at Tigerheat in LA.

But the Kpop industry is under scrutiny for exploiting pop stars who are minors, the latest controversy being about how they are asked to work past midnight & such.

Sohee was one of the examples highlighted by the Korean media at the time of the Monster Cable event.

The political fallout had reached all the way to the Korean Parliament. Conceivably, JYPE did not want further repercussions & thus excluded the maknaes.

BTW The Korean clubbing/drinking age limit is supposed to be 19.

Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS (WG) had previously expressed their wish to work with Taiwanese singer Wang Lee Hom. They got their wish the other evening. While performing in Yixing city in Jiangsu Province, they met up with fellow performer Lee Hom. Onstage that night, WG had exhilarated the audience with their signature song 'Nobody'. Later, they took a group photo with Lee Hom backstage for a keepsake. Lee Hom then shared the pic with the fans on his Weibo (aka Sina Microblog aka China version of Twitter). In addition, WG will be performing in Hangzhou at the end of next month.

Celebrities are trending on Weibo (aka Sina Microblog aka China version of Twitter). Wang Lee Hom's surging fanbase has exceeded a million in 2 months. He cheerfully tweeted a photo of himself doing a one-finger stand while inverted in a [Michael] Jordan-like pose. It immediately became a great talking point. [singer] JJ LIN was self-effacing, but [singer] Jiro Wang attempted to emulate it. The fans love to KUSO (play practical jokes). They pasted his handstand on the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, etc. & the results are hilarious.

Lee Hom is inundated with commerce shows & advertisement work. He had just finished shooting a camera CF in France before coming to Mainland China to perform. On October 27, he arrived in Yixing & shared the stage with Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS. The girls were like schoolgirls meeting their idol. They finished their set but were in no hurry to leave. Waiting backstage for Lee Hom, they asked the manger to help make introductions. They took a memorable group photo together, with Lee Hom tweeting "Nobody Nobody but... ME" in jest.

Lee Hom is constantly shuttling between Mainland China, Taiwan & Hong Kong throughout the year. He uses Skype to stay in touch with family. To connect with the fans, he started using Weibo, Facebook, etc. & generously shared photos from work. While in France recently, he revealed he had studied French for 6 years & it finally came in handy. He also took a full photo of Mont-Saint-Michel island & showed it to netizens.

Referring to the place, Lee Hom said: "This town has only 41 residents. There are much more sheep than humans."Since Mont-Saint-Michel is surrounded by water, the sheep chew on saltish grass & thus no salt is added to mutton dishes. He even boldly licked the mud on his feet & laughed: "It's salty."

The other images at the source indicate the date to be Oct 28, which is the day after WG's Yixing concert.
