*** Disney+ released the final poster for "Moving" prior the drama's ending. It catches the extraordinary poses of the characters during the last standoff. The poster showed the saying of 'I will continuously put my life in danger for people that are valuable to me,' as well as the decided appearance of the primary characters in front of the last standoff. The drama has just three episodes left for the rest of the show, and I wonder who will be the last champ in their standoff.  On September 20th, the remaining three episodes will be made available. The drama has been in the eyes of all K-drama fans since it was unassuming in the start but slowly became one of the most popular dramas in recent years.   :emmm:

“Moving” Webtoon Author Kang Full Dishes On Possibility Of Additional Seasons, Casting Process, And More On “MMTG”

Disney+’s hit drama “Moving” may be getting another season!

spacer.png

On September 14, webtoon author Kang Full, who is behind the original story of “Moving,” appeared as a guest on “MMTG.”

Disney+’s “Moving” is a superhero action drama about teenagers with hidden superhuman powers and their parents who, unbeknownst to them, harbor a painful secret from their pasts. They eventually team up to battle powerful dark forces that threaten multiple generations across different eras. The drama boasts a star-studded cast that includes Jo In Sung, Han Hyo Joo, Ryu Seung Ryong, Cha Tae Hyun, Go Yoon Jung, Lee Jung Ha, Kim Sung Kyun, Ryu Seung Bum, Kim Hee Won, Moon Sung Geun, Kim Do Hoon, and more.

During the interview, Kang Full shared that Jo In Sung was the first person to be cast for the drama. He remarked, “Kim Doo Shik’s (Jo In Sung’s) casting was discussed with the production team, and within just one week, we got a call to meet up. He said that he read the original webtoon in two days. He said on the spot that he would [take the role].”

Kang Full also expressed his concern during the casting process, revealing that he was worried Han Hyo Joo would reject the role of playing a middle-aged mom. He explained that when he first met her, he really wanted to cast her for the drama, so he did his best to persuade her by even mentioning that her character’s husband will be played by Jo In Sung.

Kang Full revealed that the kiss scenes between Kim Doo Shik and Lee Mi Hyun (Han Hyo Joo) were filmed on special days such as Christmas and New Year’s on purpose. He shared, “I think it was the director’s intention. The atmosphere of the production team was really great. The actors even did Secret Santa on Christmas.”

Regarding the upcoming finale of “Moving,” Kang Full shared, “Three stories will be told at once. All three are straightforward stories. They are partially different endings from the original, and I think they will be endings that viewers want.”

On the possibility of “Moving” getting multiple seasons, Kang Full replied, “The webtoon already has stories before and after [the drama takes place]. I think there is a possibility. It is not certain.”

@syntyche  thanks for sharing this. "Moving" has been dubbed as "the most expensive K-drama in history" by various media outlets. The drama has a production budget of a whopping 50 billion KRW or 37 million USD. It was the largest production cost invested by Disney+ among Korean contents. Unfortunately, they are about to air their last three episodes on September 20 via Disney+ and Hulu.   :kisslevel:

Amidst this situation, the newly released stills capture Kim Doo Sik firing guns while on a special mission. Viewers are curious to find out whether Kim Doo Sik and Deok Yoon’s bitter relationship in the past will be unveiled in the final episode.

*** tvN’s "Unexpected Business 3"  has unveiled its first teaser where they are running a shop in the United States. This season, the stage moves from Korea to the coastal city of Monterey in central California. The teaser released today offers a sneak peek into the market that the two run. With a sign reading “ASIAN MARKET,” the shop’s exterior has a familiar yet foreign vibe. The scale of the shop seems grander in the American setting. In the teaser, Cha Tae Hyun relishes a brief moment of respite, telling Jo In Sung, who’s standing in front of the shop, “Oh man, it’s so refreshing. The weather is fantastic today.” Then, he swiftly switches gears to greet departing customers."Unexpected Business 3"  is scheduled to premiere sometime next month. One thing is for sure: I'm in for one heck of a ride.   :foodie3:

*** I finished watching the final (3) EPs of "Moving".  It's legit the best K-drama this year so far. I can't praise this drama enough and perhaps even better than expected compared to the webtoon. KUDOS to the excellent directing. I find it very heavy, though. The final battle in the school was really tense. And there were way too many characters with their past stories. It's OK if they don't make S2 because I feel good about the ending already.   :ilike:

*** Recently, Disney+’s Moving appears to be illegally distributed in China. As of now, on China’s social media platform Douban, the drama has an impressive rating of 8.8 (out of 10), with over 38,000 reviews. Since global OTT platforms like Disney+ and Netflix are not officially available in China, it is highly likely that Chinese viewers watched Korean contents through various illegal means. Netflix’s “Squid Game”, “Narco-Saints”, ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and "The Glory"  were also illegally streamed in China.   :omg:

tvN’s “Unexpected Business” is a reality show that follows the daily journal of the operation of a store, including supermarket management and even cooking, taken on by city men Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung.

Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung’s heartwarming chemistry with local residents they meet as customers and special but everyday stories have earned the show much love from viewers.

Season 3 of “Unexpected Business” will see Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung embarking on store management in Monterey, a port city located in central California in the western United States.

In the first teaser released on September 20th, the storefront of the store that Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung will be managing this season is revealed.

*** Every drama Jo In Sung picks since he became a leading man is a winner - It's been many years since his last drama but, "Moving" was worth the wait. His character as Kim Doo Shik may have only been in a handful of episodes but, he appeared large from beginning to end. He was just one of many top stars in the drama but, he executed it to perfection. They could have given him another episode near the end so we can see how he actually got out and killed off the leader. It's a supreme project choice that's so unforgettable with the few scenes he had. And he's still looking fine as hell even after all these years. I feel that sometimes he has become underrated because of being choosy of his projects. Also, he's enjoying the single life a lot. After "Moving", there's another one to look forward to - and that's a variety show 'Unexpected Business". I love his being a low keyed artist.   :kisslevel:

*** Although “Moving” has already ended, it is still creating hot topics online. Rolling Stone published an article with this title on September 22nd (local time), stating, “‘Moving,’ a Korean drama that revolves around powerful teenagers and their strong-willed parents, has become the most-watched K-drama on Disney+ and Hulu. It has garnered more viewers than series from South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.” The media outlet emphasized that ‘Moving’ surpassed series from ‘Star Wars’ and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), making it the most-watched series by streamers. It declares ‘Moving’ as the Pinnacle of Present-Day Superhero Genre. The media outlet also highlighted that the drama was produced efficiently when compared to foreign productions. With a total production budget of approximately $45 million, equivalent to 60 billion KRW, it ranks as one of the most expensive dramas in South Korea. However, in comparison to American dramas, it falls on the more affordable side. Rolling Stone noted, “While $45 million is a substantial budget for South Korean content, series like MCU on Disney+ cost approximately $25 million per episode, and ‘The Mandalorian’ costs around $15 million per episode.”  Rolling Stone attributed the success of the drama beyond its production budget to the strength of its storytelling. The media outlet explained, “Bong-seok in ‘Moving’ chooses a quiet life without any violence, and his mother wishes for him to use his flying abilities to keep the people he cares about safe.” It emphasized that when approaching ‘Moving,’ they understood that it needed to be different from the American superhero approach, focusing on the emotional family story, as intended by director Park In-je.   :heart2:
