K-pop star Rain and actress Kim Tae-hee tied the knot in a private ceremony at a Catholic church in central Seoul on Thursday.

Kim's agency released wedding photos later the same day.

The photos include shots of the couple gazing lovingly at each other, with the bride wearing a knee-length dress with veil, and of Rain and Kim kneeling in prayer together. 

Kim later thanked her fans in a handwritten letter. "I am so grateful to the many fans who sent congratulations", she wrote. "Today is the first day of our long journey together. We are happy to take the first step with the blessings of all our loving fans".

The couple revealed their plans in a surprise announcement just two days before the wedding. They reportedly do not plan to take a honeymoon.

Park Jin-yeong performed for the love birds and Ahn Seong-gi acted as the 'witness' of the wedding. Lee Honey received the bouquet.

The reason they had such a secret wedding was in consideration of the instable country at the moment. Rain revealed a letter on the 17th saying, "I am ready to become a husband and a father. She's always been there next to me without a doubt and the trust and loyalty has led us to getting married. The country is very instable and messy right now so we want to keep it as minimal as possible. I apologize for not having said this sooner".

After the ceremony, Kim Tae-hee wrote a letter and posted, "Thank you for everyone's blessing. We promise to be a good couple".
