It’s a smart move as he’ll have better control over his showbiz activities and career direction, plus be in the position to net greater investments return for himself. Interesting style of management for his company. With the experts helping him in that aspect, it can only mean more exciting time for you all!

Rain Officially Signs With His Own Company

 

Rain announced on October 11 that “I have signed a contract with Rain Company as of October 1.”

Rain Company is a new management company founded by Rain himself, focusing entirely on Rain at the moment. He further said, “We formed a dream team of multi-entertainment, by recruiting the best from each area of the entertainment industry. We adapted the agency system of the United States, and we hope to manage actors and singers.”

It is said that Rain Company has a music and records department, headed by Kim Yong Bae, who has been with Rain since his debut. It also has a U.S. department, and a Chinese department to manage Hallyu stars. They will be focusing on finding talented rookies and recruiting stars in the near future.

You are welcome! Yes, haters gonna hate no matter what and for the tiniest excuse or even for no reason whatsoever. It’s clear that the way Rain goes about with his life and career is showing all that no amount of hate will get in the way for his success, health and happiness. He got to live for himself and no doubt for his loved ones and his fans. Good for him! Frankly, I’ve reached a point where I couldn’t care for haters too when it comes to KTH. We just do what we have to do for our biases.

Rain is experienced and seasoned in the field already. I am feeling optimistic for him that this time, he will be careful and be more prepared to ensure that his venture and endeavours are a success. I see that his office for R.A.I.N Company is at his own building that he vacated previously for renovation. His family company/business was restructured before this. Clearly, as I see it, the renovation of his building and restructuring of his family’s company/business point to the fact that he has all planned out for sometime for this new direction, albeit carefully. This can only spell good signs. 

I feel bad that I could not do much for KimBi thread for sometime. I am still overwhelmed by the amount of updates for KTH’s thread at the moment.    That’s why I drop by here for the time being before my best wishes to Rain becomes overdue.    I will get back to the thread in due course!

VOTE! Young Guys or Mature Men: Which K-Pop Idols Do Sexy Better?

 

 

Let’s get down to business, Soompiers. It’s time to talk about some of the sexiest guys out there in the K-pop world!

Back in the day,  there weren’t as many K-pop groups in the industry and their careers didn’t last as long either. Now, however, we have a huge selection of artists and bands. Some of them have just debuted and some groups have members who are 16 years old! Others, like Shinhwa, have been going strong for 15 years and are even hotter now than when they debuted.

What does all of this mean for me and you, dear readers? In short, it means there is a massive K-pop ocean filled with a lot of pretty guys! There are also some super gorgeous ones, adorable ones, and even some extremely hot ones. Others are handsome, and others are more classically good-looking. Some are so cute you just want to adopt them and raise them for life. Others are super manly and have chiseled, amazing builds. When it comes down to it however, which ones are sexier?

We all know the difference right? There may be an incredibly handsome guy in your favorite group, but there is someone else who is definitely the sexiest member. If you look it up in a dictionary, the definition of sexiness includes a lot of words like “allure, appeal, charm, confidence, drawing power, suggestiveness, magnetism, pull, and attractiveness.” Understand now? Sexiness isn’t about the most handsome face, the most gorgeous body, or even the hottest flower boy out there. It’s in the way they move,  they way they talk, they way they look at you, and even in their confidence when they walk.

The question remains however, who does “sexy” better? Do you prefer some of the really gorgeous, young singers and artists? Or do you like someone who is a little bit older, with that hint of worldliness and maturity that many younger singers still lack?

We’ve stacked idols from rookie groups (or at least ones 25-years-old and younger) against older artists or ones from senior groups. Let’s try to leave our biases and prejudices behind and look at these men objectively to determine who has the most sex appeal. It’s a hard job, Soompiers, but duty calls. Let’s vote now and decide once and for all, “Young Guys or Mature Men: Which Idols Do Sexy Better?”

*** Well, FH is makjang! The actors were cute but HOT. Full House is as popular and loved as it is and I wonder why it merits for so many remakes. Full House is not my 1^st K-drama per se but I admit it’s the first K-drama that made me a K-pop addict. It was fun and addictive when I watched it many years ago though. I’m wondering how they will stretch out a 1- season plot in K-dramas to a multi season show in Hollywood. American & Korean shows are both quite different from each other. I’m not so sure if Full House will translate well for American audiences. Because I believe that America can never remake a Korean rom-com. That’s why, I just can’t imagine a remake of it. I just don’t see this working for mainstream US audiences.

I initially thought that Rain was going to demolish his building and rebuild anew, but looks like he just had some cosmetic changes to the exterior. I like the deep blue awning and some, what looks to me, darker blue panels lining the walls. The overall effect is really neat and corporate like.

There's a dark brown room erected on the left of the roof (from the first picture). Is this the place where he had his dance and singing practices, while under his JTune label, that we see in the videos?

Hi Nancyzak, ye, looks like that the building only underwent some renovations inside & as what you said slight exterior changes. Actually, it's just a very simple building. Sorry, dear no idea if this is the place where he did all his dance/singing rehearsals during his JTune days. I also have no idea what's the purpose of this room - What I know is Rain bought this building in Cheongdam-dong for W15 billion back in 2008 & this was where JF company (formerly Rainy entertainment) was located. We know that this area is the “Beverly Hills” of Seoul. Many of the entertainment companies are here like Cube., JYPE, SM.

Nancyzak, I completely agree with you - RAIN knows what he's doing. Good decision from him to introduce an American-style agent system in which specialists from each sector take control of their field. He also needs a specialist to take care of his promotion in Korea, China & US. Currently, RAIN is growing more in China &  he needs someone who will handle his China affairs, a person who could take care of his promotion in China.

Hi Nancyzak, ye, dear - China is the next largest..... I'm sure this is one of the reasons why RAIN appears in Chinese movies/dramas & having Asia Tours within that country. Aside from the pay, which is higher in China than it is in Korea he knows that the Chinese Market will soon lead to the international market.  Chinese market is big. China has a lot of market to cover. I hope I could get to watch his concert on December 26, the Shanghai leg. But, usually, during this time I'm either in Seoul or US. But, crossing my fingers, dear.

Survey reveals top 5 acts in K-pop, drama and other fields of Korean Wave

 

Psy, Big Bang and TVXQ are among the five acts that best represent K-pop, according to a recent survey on the nation’s best hallyu content of all time. 

According to the Korea Creative Content Agency, which released the poll Tuesday, the remaining two in the top five K-pop acts are Girls’ Generation and BoA; while the list for most popular Korean TV dramas and shows to-date are: “Jewel in the Palace,” “Winter Sonata,” “My Love from the Star,” “Autumn in My Heart” and reality TV show “Running Man.”

Categorizing hallyu content under seven genres -- TV shows, games, comic books, webtoons, animation characters, music artists and live stage productions -- the survey included the opinions of 10 cultural figures including professors, writers and media professionals as well as 1,000 members of the general public.

Pororo, Pucca, Larva, Robocar Poli and the 1983 character Dooly the Little Dinosaur were the top picks in the animation category, while comic books “Yeol Hyul Gang Ho,” “Full House,” “Palace,” “A Daunting Team” and “Priest” were named the top five for that category.

“To all those who helped spread the contents of hallyu over the past two decades, I thank you for your hard work,” said Song Sung-gak, director of the state-run KOCCA in a press statement Tuesday.

“In the future we will work hard and support our local content for its continued development in the global market,” he added.

KOCCA will hold a public forum to discuss the results of its hallyu survey Friday at its K-culture forum being held at Coex in Gangnam-gu, southern Seoul.

Hi Nancyzak, ye, I've tried it once, dear.....And RAIN's preference for scent I guess is still the same up to now, flowery scent - hahaha. Your memory still serves you right  - But, IDK if he still uses some of them as his car freshener. As what I know most of his perfume scents are given to him by fans. And IDK if his favorites are still Marc Jacobs & Christian Dior..... Rain has a lot of watches but the one that stands out the most is his Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15202ST Jumbo (~$22,500). A masterful design by genius watch designer Gérald Genta, this watch is iconic and created the market for luxury stainless steel watches. And what I know also is most of his shoes are sponsored....(size 11) hahaha -
