Yoon Eun Hye & Lee Dong Wook To Star In "Violent Romance"

Top actors of romantic comedies have gotten together. Lee Dong Wook and Yoon Eun Hye are expected to work together in a romantic comedy drama "Violent Romance (Working title)".

According to many broadcasting station sources, Yoon Eun Hye and Lee Dong Wook are set to appear in a 16 episodes drama, "Violent Romance", which will follow KBS 2TV "Glory's Jane" and begin airing in next January.

"Violent Romance" is a romantic comedy of a former Judo athlete meeting a baseball player through an unfortunate situation, and falling in love during an off season. This is a project that first gained the attention of the viewers with the announcement that writer Park Yeon Sun of "Alone In Love" and PD Bae Kyung Soo of "Famous Princesses" will be working on the project.

This drama is expected to go farther than a story of standard romantic comedy, and is expected to emotionally move the viewers by detailing the dreams and the hopes of each characters.

While the cast members have been kept secret until recently, the anticipation of the drama is gaining tract as Yoon Eun Hye and Lee Dong Wook are expected to star in the leading roles. The synergy effect from the combination of the actors in "Violent Romance" is gaining anticipation.

This rumor has been hot for the past 3 weeks on various Korean internet forums. The rumor had named Yoon Eun Hye and Lee Dong Wook as the leading actors of "Violent Romance". Lee Dong Wook's agency announced today that they are making final arrangements to star in the drama, which made the casting rumor 50% true. Yoon Eun Hye's agency has not made an official announcement as of now. This is the first official article by a news agency regarding the project, so we may hear more news soon.

The positive thing about this project is that it features one of the best writer of the industry. With "Woman In the Sun", "White Christmas" and etc., the writer has a group of maniac fans who follow her work. "Woman In the Sun" is considered one of the greatest K-Drama ever made by many domestic fans, and it won many end of the year awards, including best leading actress awards and best TV drama award.

I have been lurking on dcmbc and they have been saying for about 3 weeks now that YEH was sent the script for both Wild Romance and The King.

Well if she has nothing to do with this project, it's much better to deny it sooner than later, before other news outlets start picking up on the story and spreading false news even more.

I wish producers would stop announcing this stuff or leaking information out until they actually have YEH signed on. Or journalists actually do their job and get confirmation from each party before publishing a story.

The articles would title: "Yoon Eun Hye denies the rumor of being cast for Violent Romance"..then in the article, it will have two lines from her tweet..then have three paragraphs talking about the drama. So many people from DC are getting the feeling that it's the production company that leaked the rumors for free promotion. Dirty, dirty business!

Yes I agree, that could be a possibility. 

Knowing that some of Prod.Co. & Korean TV station have announced their new projects for 2012 and some of them are romcom I can't help to think that they must send the script to YEH. So earlier I listed projects that have high possibility to be picked by her (IMO) 

1. Wild Romance (KBS)

2. The King (MBC). SW : Hong sisters (Hong Ja-Ram, Hong Jin-Ah/Beethoven Virus)

3. A Gentleman’s Dignity (SBS)

4. Untitled. SW : Hong sisters (Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran/My Girl, You're Beautiful, Best Love) KBS

Frankly, I wish YEH will pick A Gentleman's Dignity (Jang Dong Gun's possibly comeback drama) to be her next project (if she's been offering) since it's a romantic melo drama. But anything YEH choose I'll support her. At least that way I can see her on screen again

That's how entertainment business usually work, I think you should use to it by now MariYEH 

YEH is one of big names in K ent. industry especially in romcom. Attaching her name to a project can attract many parties attention i.e investor, advertisement/brand agency, viewers and especially journalists. Even after her last 2 projects that some people called failure YEH name still appreciated by people in K ent. industry. So offcourse the production team of Violent Romance don't wanna waste that opportunity (for free promotion) although YEH didn't say yes yet.

For the report that Lee Dong Wook and Yoon Eun Hye were offered for the lead roles in movie Violent Romance, production company of the movie said it was just a rumor.

One of the staffs in the production company, GNG Productions, on the 2nd, said, “nothing has been decided yet, but we were very surprised by the article that reported actors we haven’t even thought of were offered for the lead roles. The actors we are thinking of right now are not Lee Dong Wook and Yoon Eun Hye.”

Seems like Son Ye Jin mentioned Yoon Eun Hye in an interview recently.  They must be close.  This is not as interesting as a new drama but uplifting to know that they are great friends.
