[종합] 동방신기 영웅재중 음주운전…“깊은 사죄…당분간 자숙” 사과 [쿠키뉴스 2006-04-07 11:56] [쿠키사회] 서울 강남경찰서는 7일 술을 마시고 차를 운전한 혐의(도로교통법 위반)로 인기 그룹 동방신기의 멤버 김재중(20·예명 영웅재중)씨를 불구속 입건하고 100일간 면허정지 조치했다. 경찰에 따르면 김씨는 이날 오전 1시19분께 혈중 알코올 농도 0.071%의 상태로서울 강남구 삼성동 강남구청 사거리에서 선릉역 방향으로 50미터 가량 BMW 승용차를 몰고가다 라마다 르네상스호텔 근처에서 음주단속에 적발됐다. 김씨는 6일 밤 서울 강남구 압구정동의 한 호프집에서 친구 1명과 함께 맥주 3병을 마신 뒤 또다른 친구 집에 찾아가 친구 아버지 소유의 BMW 차량을 몰고 귀가하려했던 것으로 조사됐다. 이에 대해 소속사 SM엔터테인먼트는 보도자료를 통해 “동방신기에게 많은 관심과 사랑을 보내주신 여러분들께 깊은 사죄의 말씀을 드린다”고 사과한 뒤 “당분간 자숙의 시간을 가지며, 향후 진행될 스케줄에 대해서는 주최측과 협의 후 출연 여부를 결정하도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다. Jaejoong's blood alcohol level was .072--NOT HIGH ENOUGH TO BE CONSIDERED LEGALLY DRUNK IN THE U.S (limit: 0.08).

So it's not as if he got himself extremely drunk and then decided to drive. Don't hate him for this. He's human. If it were anyone else, it wouldn't be such a big deal.

(I'm NOT saying it's a mistake that's okay to make. He's apologized and he's being punished for it--DBSK will be doing activities in Japan without him. He's worked so hard to get where he is and I'm sure he hates himself for this more than anyone else right now. Bashing on him won't help matters.)
